Schiff Base Metal Complexes readers will also find: A systematic and organized structure designed to make information instantly accessible Detailed coverage of thermal synthesis, photochemical synthesis, and more Challenges with different methods described in order to help readers make the correct choice for their own work Schiff Base Metal Complexes is a useful reference for organic chemists, materials scientists, and researchers or industry professionals working with organometallics.
Book Synopsis Direct Synthesis of Metal Complexes by : B.I. Kharisov
Download or read book Direct Synthesis of Metal Complexes written by B.I. Kharisov and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2018-04-19 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Direct Synthesis of Metal Complexes provides in-depth coverage of the direct synthesis of coordination and organometallic compounds. The work is primarily organized by methods, but also covers highly relevant complexes, such as metal-polymer coordination compounds. This updated reference discusses recent developments in cryosynthesis, electrosynthesis, and tribosynthesis (popular as it doesn’t require organic solvents), with special attention paid to ‘greener’ methodologies and approaches. Additionally, the book describes physical methods of zero-valent metal interaction with organic matter, including sputtering, ultrasonic treatment and synthesis in ionic liquids. The book presents completely new content as a follow-up to the 1999 Elsevier Science publication Direct Synthesis of Coordination and Organometallic Compounds that was edited by Dr. Garnovskii and Dr. Kharisov. Covers current methods and techniques of metal interactions with organic media leading to metal chelates, adducts, di- and polymetallic complexes, metal-containing macrocycles, supported coordination compounds (i.e., metal complexes on carbon nanotubes), and more Describes reactivities of distinct forms of elemental metals (powders, sheets, nanoparticles (including a host of less-common metal nanostructures) with organic phase (liquid, solid and gaseous) and water Includes experimental procedures, with examples of direct synthesis, at the end of each chapter

Book Synopsis Synthesis and Characterization of Some Schiff Base Metal Complexes by : Lili Wang
Download or read book Synthesis and Characterization of Some Schiff Base Metal Complexes written by Lili Wang and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "One Schiff base ligand, bis(N,N-2-hyroxypropylenediaminesalicylaldimine), and its metal complexes were synthesized and characterized in this research. The synthesis was achieved by the condensation of salicylaldehyde with the amine group of 1,3- diamino-2-propanol in methanol. The mononuclear and dinuclear complexes from Schiff base with tradition metals Cu(Il) and Ni(II) were prepared by refluxing in ethanol. Detailed structural characterization of the ligand and its complexes was performed through NMR, magnetic susceptibility, UV-Vis spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and Xray structure analysis. At room temperature, the effective magnetic moment of mononuclear Cu(ll) complexes is 1.82BM confirming the presence of one unpaired electron. It is distorted tetrahedral geometry and paramagnetic. The mononuclear Ni(Il) complex possesses the effective magnetic moment, [mu][subscript eff], 3.18BM which shows the presence of two unpaired electrons and paramagnetism. The magnetic properties are explained with a modified Bleaney-Bowers equation. This suggests a strong antiferromagnetic exchange interaction between two copper atoms in a dimeric complex. It was found through the X-ray structure analysis that the mononuclear Cu(II) complex possesses the triclinic lattice type and P-1 space group. The unit cell parameters are a= 7 .823(4)Å; b = 9.688(5)Å; c = 10. 715( 6 )Å; [alpha]= 91.56(1)°; [Beta]= 104.40(1)° ; and [gamma]= 95.53(1)°. The crystal system of dinuclear Cu(II) complex is a monoclinic lattice type and P21/c space group. The unit cell parameters are a= 18.084(2)Å; b = 20.869(2)Å; c = 9.894(1)Å; and [Beta] = 95.437(2)°"--Abstract, leaf iii.

Book Synopsis Transition Metal Complexes of Benzopyran-4-One Schiff Bases by : Abdel-Kader Nora S
Download or read book Transition Metal Complexes of Benzopyran-4-One Schiff Bases written by Abdel-Kader Nora S and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2015-01-29 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The condensation of primary amines with aldehydes or ketones gives products known as imines or Schiff bases which contain a C=N group. Metal complexes of Schiff bases have contributed widely to the inorganic chemistry of chelate system. The extreme sensitivity of physical and chemical properties of Schiff base compounds to small changes in the substitution and in the environment, together with their ready availability justify their extraordinary wide spread applications. The chelating properties of Schiff bases towards transition metal ions were of interest to many authors. The Schiff bases are expected to exhibit variable bonding and stereochemical behavior in their complexes because of the presence of several alternates bonding donor sites. Accordingly, this book contains preparation and characterization of a series of Schiff bases derived from the condensation of benzopyran-4-one derivatives with aliphatic diamines (ethylenediamine and trimethylenediamine). The mode of chelation of some transition metal ionswith these Schiff bases was elucidated by different techniques. The book is a valuable study to inorganic chemists those research coordination compounds of transition metals.

It has 75pp, 4 tables, 55 figures and the references for the study of group 11 elements. It discusses one main project divided by three chapters describing in general the synthesis; structure and spectroscopic studies of Silver (I) and copper (I) complexes. Chapter I discusses the introduction to trinuclear pyrazolate complexes of d 10 coinage metals, linearly-bridging diimines, mixed-metal and mixed-ligand complexes and the potential applications, including sensors for (VOCs), metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), solar cells and organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Chapter II involves synthesis and characterization including x-ray crystallography, photoluminescence, 1HNMR, FT-IR, absorption spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, of silver complexes, copper complexes, mixed-metal complexes and mixed-ligand complexes. Chapter III summarizes the conclusion of the results obtained in Chapter II and the expected applications.
