The Black Lives Matter movement offers perspectives about young black males, but the leaders themselves are not black males. Most perspectives speak for, speak to, or speak against the minority male experience; even the religious community has offered many perspectives. However, these perspectives are missing two key elements: specificity and experience. When young black males were dying in police custody, many thought generally, addressing race, relations and diversity were sufficient.
