Download or read book Supersonic Flow Past a Family of Blunt Axisymmetric Bodies written by Milton Van Dyke and published by . This book was released on 1959 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some 100 numerical computations have been carried out for unyawed bodies of revolution with detached bow waves. The gas is assumed perfect with y=5/3, 7/5, or 1. Free-stream Mach numbers are taken as 1.2, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, and [infinity symbol]. The results are summarized with emphasis on the sphere and paraboloid.

Book Synopsis Technology of Lunar Exploration by : Clifford Cumming
Download or read book Technology of Lunar Exploration written by Clifford Cumming and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 1006 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Progress in Astronautics and Rocketry, Volume 10: Technology of Lunar Exploration is an overview of the technical base of the lunar exploration problem. This volume is organized into six sections encompassing 35 that follow the various stages of accomplishment of a lunar mission, involving landing on or orbiting the moon and returning to the earth. The first section is devoted to the problem of trying to define the lunar environment, emphasizing the theories of the lunar environment as it relates to the internal structure of the moon. This section also describes some activities to achieve a reasonable theory concerning what might be encountered in some of the previous lunar flight programs. The second section explores the problems associated with the limitations imposed upon lunar missions by the launch vehicles and launching facilities. The third section looks at the spacecraft systems and techniques required for lunar missions, particularly the technology and specific subsystems in relation to the requirements imposed by specific lunar mission objectives. The fourth section deals with the actual landing on the moon and the subsequent surface operations, while the fifth section covers the lunar launch, return, flight re-entry, and subsequent landing on earth. The sixth section reports the status of the projects that represent the United States lunar exploration program, which integrates the technologies developed in the preceding sections into certain discrete projects.
Book Synopsis Heat Transfer by : Konstantin Volkov
Download or read book Heat Transfer written by Konstantin Volkov and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2018-06-27 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book focuses on new analytical, experimental, and computational developments in the field of research of heat and mass transfer phenomena. The generation, conversion, use, and exchange of thermal energy between physical systems are considered. Various mechanisms of heat transfer such as thermal conduction, thermal convection, thermal radiation, and transfer of energy by phase changes are presented. Theory and fundamental research in heat and mass transfer, numerical simulations and algorithms, experimental techniques, and measurements as they applied to all kinds of applied and emerging problems are covered.

Book Synopsis Tables of Aerodynamic Coefficients Obtained from Developed Newtonian Expressions for Complete and Partial Conic and Spheric Bodies at Combined Angles of Attack and Sideslip with Some Comparisons with Hypersonic Experimental Data by : William R. Wells
Download or read book Tables of Aerodynamic Coefficients Obtained from Developed Newtonian Expressions for Complete and Partial Conic and Spheric Bodies at Combined Angles of Attack and Sideslip with Some Comparisons with Hypersonic Experimental Data written by William R. Wells and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Newtonian closed-form expressions for the aerodynamic coefficients are developed for complete and partial conic and spheric bodies at combined angles of attack and sideslip. Calculations from these expressions are presented in tabulated form for various body shapes. Closed-form expressions for some of the static stability derivatives are also presented. Comparisons of this theory with hypersonic experimental data are made for many of the body shapes.
