Book Synopsis My Favorite Moosetake by : Jacqueline Winters
Download or read book My Favorite Moosetake written by Jacqueline Winters and published by Jackie M. Wallick. This book was released on 2020-04-07 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ★★★★★“I have been binge reading this series- with a grin on my face all day.” --Reviewer ★★★★★ “… the more time I spend in Sunset Ridge, the more I want to visit …” --Reviewer ★★★★★ “ …get ready to fall in love with these amazing characters and Ed, the matchmaking moose.” --Reviewer It’s been 13 years since I last stepped foot in Sunset Ridge, Alaska. After my first love joined the Army and left me behind, I swore I’d never look back. But now my career is up in smoke, and I’ve been left with no other choice than to help my sisters run the inn we inherited until my name is cleared. No one warned me that the man who broke my heart was back in town. Or that he was one of our guests. My attempts to avoid Liam Davies are pointless. Everywhere I turn, he’s leaning against a door jamb wielding that familiar heart-pounding smile. Or falling asleep with his precious dog on his chest. Most annoyingly, he keeps coming to my rescue. He’s determined to win me back. If I’m not careful, I’ll get my heart broken all over again. If you love fun, small town romance, My Favorite Moosetake is packed full of that charm—a fun cast of characters, a quirky small town Alaskan setting, and a swoony-romance with all the feels. All inspired by the decade the author lived in Alaska. Download or read book Sum Lucid Beats written by Jason Shimberg and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-06-10 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The poems in Sum Lucid Beats are reminiscent of the Beat poets Shimberg admires. The subjects of his poems are varied, the style is modern. Shimberg's poetry displays both humor, levity and emotion equal and balanced. Many poetry workshops, open mic's and retreats later. After failed attempts on the road, you will understand the depth of Shimberg's path and words. There is such a thing as post-modern beat poetry. I am a living example. I was not born in the era of Kerouac and Ginsberg. I studied under teachers who did. They passed on the knowledge. I spent 15 years constructing this book. My first poem was about a compulsive gambler. My second poem ever written was about an airplane ride that went slightly off course. My current poetry is not performance based, rather to be read quietly and enjoyed. I found notebooks and journals both handwritten and typed from the late 1990's. They were just sitting there collecting dust in my childhood room. It took me several months to transcribe these by hand.

Book Synopsis Northfield by : ArLynn Leiber Presser
Download or read book Northfield written by ArLynn Leiber Presser and published by Arcadia Publishing. This book was released on 2011-01-03 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1926, railroad and electric power tycoon Samuel Insull held a contest to name a station on the Skokie Valley Electric Line that the locals already called the Skokie Swamp. The winning name? Wau Bun, a Potawatomi word meaning dawn and also the name of a noted Potawatomi chief from the late 1700s. But the residents of Skokie Swamp hated the name and plotted their revenge. Three years later, as Insull was on a train pulling into the station, he was horrified to discover that vandals had taken it upon themselves to rename the station Hot Bun. Insull and the locals compromised, and the more neutral moniker of Northfield was adopted. The Skokie Valley Electric Line has long since been closed, and popular legend holds that Insull died penniless and alone in Paris. But the town of Northfield has survived and thrived. Once a loose affiliation of farms, Northfield is now a quiet suburb that has enviable schools, beautiful homes, and gorgeous landscapes.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From Nicole Alexander, the 'heart of Australian storytelling', comes an epic historical novel that takes three brothers from the drought-stricken outback of Queensland to the horror of the trenches in World War One. They went to war and fought for love ... Although Madeleine has grown up in the shadow of her grandfather, the renowned artist David Harrow, she knows little about him. For David died long before she was born, and his paintings sold off to save the family property, Sunset Ridge. Now, decades on, with the possibility of a retrospective of David’s work, Madeleine races to unravel the remarkable life of her grandfather, a veteran of the Great War, unaware that his legacy extends far beyond the boundaries of the family property... It’s 1916, and as Europe descends further into bloodshed, three Queensland brothers -Thaddeus, Luther and David Harrow - choose freedom over their restricted lives at Sunset Ridge. A ‘freedom’ that sees them bound for the hell of the trenches. With the world on fire around them, the brothers bear witness to both remarkable courage and shocking carnage. But they also come to understand the healing power of love – love for their comrades, love for each other, and love for the young, highly spirited girl they left back home... This is a story of bravery and misadventure, of intolerance and friendship, most of all it is the story of three young men who went to war and fought for love. Download or read book Moose Be Love written by Jacqueline Winters and published by Jackie M. Wallick. This book was released on 2020-02-26 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ★★★★★From the moment I started reading, I was transported to the small town of Sunset Ridge where I spent the day. I ignored anything and everything that had to do with adulting. --Reviewer ★★★★★This could be Hallmark Alaska. Cheesy, fun, Alaska and then there’s Ed -the 2000 lb moose that has befriended the town of Sunset Ridge. --Reviewer ★★★★★ This is a wonderful book. If you like a deep good, page turner this the book for you. --Reviewer ★★★★★ What a fun book! I fell in love with Ed, the moose. And the town of Sunset Ridge, Alaska. What a treasure to find a place like that to live. –Reviewer When I travel to the small town of Sunset Ridge for the reading of my great aunt’s will, I have no idea that my sisters and I are about to inherit a lodge. Or that my rugged Alaskan neighbor is the caretaker I’ll be spending all my time with. Falling for Ford Harris would be unwise. I’m supposed to get the lodge listed for sale and leave. Not to mention that he hasn’t dated anyone since his wife died four years ago. The little sister he’s super protective over let it slip that he swore off ever falling in love again. But he’s cooking me dinner, showing me around town, and saving me from getting trampled by the town’s favorite moose. Don’t even get me started on the way my brain short circuits when I catch him shirtless and towel-drying his hair. The truth is? I’m falling hard, and I wish I didn’t have to leave. If you love fun, small town romance, Moose Be Love is packed full of that charm—a fun cast of characters, a quirky small town Alaskan setting, and a swoony-romance with all the feels. All inspired by the decade the author lived in Alaska.
