Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: He was everything she could never have. Lady Olivia Pearce lives a sheltered, lonely life in the English countryside running her family's historic estate. The only way to save her family's estate is to marry a man she doesn't love. Her sense of tradition, legacy and family loyalty has her agreeing to her family's request. What she wasn't expecting was to meet the man she had always dreamed of after agreeing to marry another. She was everything he couldn't possess. Axel Taylor, lead singer of Dirty Texas, had it all; a successful career, a great group of friends, good health and happiness. His life was pretty damn perfect until the people closest to him started falling in love and settling down, throwing chaos into his perfectly controlled life. Axel never envisioned himself needing more until the perfect little package walked into his life and turned it upside down. She exposed everything he desired underneath his hard shell. But meeting the right person doesn't always happen at the right time. One little taste can't hurt, can it?

Book excerpt: Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s life has been a freaky—and unending—lesson in caution. Surviving “accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option. It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn’t let her die before, and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the only thing he has left...his soul.

Book excerpt: Camilla Ferrar is a witch with the power to control the weather, but she's completely unprepared for the storm her new boss, Damien Barthe, unleashes in her life...and on her senses. Camilla 'Cam' Ferrar has the power to control the weather, but she's all alone in the world. She's tried all her life to connect to her witch heritage by attending groups and studying the history of witchcraft. Her new boss, Damien Barthe, shows signs of being her opposite—a witch hunter. But when she confronts him, she finds out that he's actually a witch himself, and on a mission to seek out and neutralise those who are using Wiccan powers for evil purposes. Damien's mission has brought him to Cam's workplace and she knows that once he's done his job, he will be on his way, but that doesn't stop her from falling for her sexy new boss. Tensions are ratcheted when she's forced to lay off employees due to the recent merger with Damien's company. When one man takes it particular poorly, he starts stalking her...leaving Damien to come to the rescue just as Cam begins to manipulate the weather in her own defence. In the aftermath of the confrontation, Cam and Damien head back to her place and finish what they had started but never completed before—a night of wild witchery and sex. With his mission over, will Damien walk out of her life the next morning, or will their explosive connection finally conquer the storm?

Book excerpt: Dynamic instability or dynamic buckling as applied to structures is a term that has been used to describe many classes of problems and many physical phenomena. It is not surprising, then, that the term finds several uses and interpretations among structural mechanicians. Problems of parametric resonance, follower-force, whirling of rotating shafts, fluid-solid interaction, general response of structures to dynamic loads, and several others are all classified under dynamic instability. Many analytical and experimental studies of such problems can be found in several books as either specialized topics or the main theme. Two such classes, parametric resonance and stability of nonconservative systems under static loads (follower-force problems), form the main theme of two books by V. V. Bolotin, which have been translated from Russian. Moreover, treatment of aero elastic instabilities can be found in several textbooks. Finally, analytical and experimental studies of structural elements and systems subjected to intense loads (of very short duration) are the focus of the recent monograph by Lindberg and Florence. The first chapter attempts to classify the various "dynamic instability" phenomena by taking into consideration the nature of the cause, the character of the response, and the history of the problem. Moreover, the various concepts and methodologies as developed and used by the various investigators for estimating critical conditions for suddenly loaded elastic systems are fully described. Chapter 2 demonstrates the concepts and criteria for dynamic stability through simple mechanical models with one and two degrees of freedom.

Book excerpt: Occult Japan is an esoteric study of Japanese personality and possession based on Japan's indigenous religion, Shinto, and other aspects of Japanese culture, history and heritage. Shinto, also known as "The Way of the Gods," revolves around the kami ("gods" or "spirits"), supernatural entities believed to inhabit all things. The kami are worshiped at kamidana household shrines, family shrines, and public shrines. The study offers exhaustive observations and academic discussions of various aspects of Japanese life, including language, religious practices, economics, travels in Japan, and the development of personality.
