Sie beeintrachtigt nicht nur die Gesundheit des Einzelnen sondern kann auch die Volkswirtschaft und Unternehmen negativ beeinflussen. Diese Arbeit behandelt daher das Phanomen Stress am Arbeitsplatz" in Bezug auf dessen Ursachen und wirksame Gegenmassnahmen. Um im weiten Verlauf dieser Arbeit dieses Phanomen genauer untersuchen zu konnen, mussen im ersten Abschnitt massgebliche Begrifflichkeiten vorab herausgegriffen und definiert werden. Nach Erlauterung dieser Begriffe werden die unterschiedlichen Klassifikationen von Stressmodellen sowie zwei der einflussreichsten Stressmodelle, nach Selye und Lazarus, veranschaulicht dargestellt und erortert. Im weiteren Verlauf dieser Arbeit werden Einflussgrossen sowie die daraus resultierenden Folgen und derer Wirkung auf den verschiedenen Ebenen und ihrer anhaltenden Dauer, unterschieden und erlautert. Nachdem alle Grundlagen, Grunde und Folgen des arbeitsbedingten Stresses dargestellt wurden soll im nachsten Abschnitt der Fokus dieser Arbeit auf Stressbewaltigungsmassnahmen sowie auf die betriebliche Gesundheitsforderung gelegt werden.
