Book Synopsis Steel Connection Design by Inelastic Analysis by : Mark D. Denavit
Download or read book Steel Connection Design by Inelastic Analysis written by Mark D. Denavit and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-10-29 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Comprehensive resource on the finite element method in structural steel connection design through verification with AISC 360 provisions Steel Connection Design by Inelastic Analysis covers the use of the finite element method in structural steel connection design. Verification with AISC 360 provisions is presented, focusing on the Component-Based Finite Element Method (CBFEM), a novel approach that provides the global behavior and verification of resistance for the design of structural steel connections. This method is essential for fast and practical design and evaluation of connections with different levels of geometry and complexity. Detailed modeling and verification examples with references to AISC and other relevant publications are included throughout the text, along with roughly 250 illustrations to aid in reader comprehension. Readers of this text will benefit from understanding at least the basics of structural design, ideally through civil, structural, or mechanical engineering programs of study. Written by a team of six highly qualified authors, Steel Connection Design by Inelastic Analysis includes information on: T-stub connections, single plate shear connections, bracket plate connections, beam over column connections, and end-plate moment connections Bolted wide flange splice connections, temporary splice connections, and chevron brace connection in a braced frame Brace connections at beam-column connection in a braced frame and double angle simple beam-to-column connections Semi-rigid beam-to-column connections, covering code design calculations and comparisons, IDEA StatiCa analysis, and ABAQUS analysis Steel Connection Design by Inelastic Analysis is an authoritative reference on the subject for structural engineers, Engineers of Record (EORs), fabrications specialists, and connection designers involved in the structural design of steel connections in the United States or any territory using AISC 360 as the primary design code.

Book Synopsis Limit State Design of Steel Structures by : Ramchandra
Download or read book Limit State Design of Steel Structures written by Ramchandra and published by Scientific Publishers. This book was released on 2017-09-01 with total page 1088 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Method of Limit State (Ultimate Limit State, (ULS) and serviceability limit state (SLS)) present an improved design philosophy and makes allow-ance for the short-compings of working stress method (conventional and long time used in practice). This method provides basic framework, within which the performance of the steel structures may be assessed against various limiting conditions and invo-lves some concept of probability. Object of limit design method is to get steel structure that will remain fit for use during its life with acceptable target reliability. The probability of a limit state being reached during its life time is kept very small. This method has been broadly adopted in many developed countries and based on the recommendations of IS: 800-2007 (Third Revised Edition). This method has been covered in nine parts (in twenty six chapters and four appendices) as listed in contents. After introducing `Limit State Method of Design of Concrete Structures (LSD: CC) in IS: 456-1978, it was natural for Bureau of Indian Standard to introduce `Limit State Design of Steel Structures (LSD: SS). SI units for text for complete book, uncertainties involved in the working stress method and the concept of partial safety factors for the loads and strength of mate-rials (for yield and ultimate stresses reached) are the special feature of the book. Concepts of shear centre for thin-walled beam cross-sections and unsymmetrical bending of beams are important for various requirements and have been included in appendices. The text of book has been covered in about 1000 pages and 550 diagrams. The texts of various topics has been explained in many illustrative worked-out examples.
Book Synopsis Design of Structural Steelwork by : William McKenzie
Download or read book Design of Structural Steelwork written by William McKenzie and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 1998-11-11 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text aims to develop an understanding of Limit State Design as applied to structural steelwork. The use of the relevant codes of practice, in particular BS 5950: Part 1, is explained and demonstrated in numerous worked examples and illustrations. The treatment is both extensive and comprehensive, including a selection of design examples which are presented in a format typical of that used in a design office in order to encourage students to adopt a methodical and rational approach in preparing structural calculations.
