Download or read book Divine Healing written by Andrew Murray and published by Aneko Press. This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus is still He who heals both soul and body. Salvation offers holiness and healing, and the Holy Spirit is willing to give us a manifestation of His power. When we ask why this divine power is not more often seen, the only biblical answer to be found is: “Because of your unbelief.” Health as well as salvation is to be obtained by faith. The natural tendency of man is to bring about his salvation by his works, and it is only with difficulty that he comes to receive it by faith. But when it is a question of healing the body, he has still more difficulty grasping that truth. As to salvation, he finally accepts it because there is no other way to open the door of heaven. But for the body, he makes use of many other treatments. But happy is he who understands that it is the will of God to show the power of Jesus and to reveal to us His Fatherly love by healing physically as well as spiritually. By doing so, He increases and confirms our faith and teaches us that He demonstrates the power of redemption in the body as well as in the soul. This book provides biblical clarity concerning divine healing, and supplies basic and applicable principles necessary to having faith concerning healing. The author makes it very clear that we are not healed based on who we are, but based on who Christ is.
Book Synopsis Faith in the Great Physician by : Heather D. Curtis
Download or read book Faith in the Great Physician written by Heather D. Curtis and published by JHU Press. This book was released on 2007-11-30 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This history of evangelical faith healing in nineteenth-century America examines the nation’s shifting attitudes about sickness, suffering, and health. Faith in the Great Physician tells the story of how participants in the divine healing movement transformed the ways Americans coped with physical affliction and pursued bodily wellbeing. Heather D. Curtis offers critical reflection on the theological, cultural, and social forces that come into play when one questions the purpose of suffering and the possibility of healing. Belief in divine healing ran counter to a deep-seated Christian ethic that linked physical suffering with spiritual holiness. By engaging in devotional disciplines and participating in social reform efforts, proponents of faith cure embraced a model of spiritual experience that endorsed active service, rather than passive endurance, as the proper Christian response to illness and pain. Emphasizing the centrality of religious practices to the enterprise of divine healing, Curtis sheds light on the relationship among Christian faith, medical science, and the changing meanings of suffering and healing in American culture. Recipient of the Frank S. and Elizabeth D. Brewer Prize of the American Society of Church History for 2007
Book Synopsis Divine Healing Made Simple by : Praying Medic
Download or read book Divine Healing Made Simple written by Praying Medic and published by . This book was released on 2013-12-13 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Divine Healing Made Simple is a training manual for the supernatural life. It not only covers the topic of divine healing, but deliverance, raising the dead, making disciples, proclaiming the kingdom of God, dreams, fasting, words of knowledge, healing in the work place and in health care, and it takes a prophetic look at the future of healing. Isn't it time someone wrote a book that gives honest answers to the difficult questions you have about healing and the supernatural? Why are my prayers ineffective when I ask God to heal someone? Many people have prayed for my healing - so why am I still not healed? Does God want me to learn a lesson through physical suffering and sickness? I was miraculously healed through prayer - why have my symptoms returned? This book takes a bold new approach by addressing the questions about healing that many authors have avoided so far. Three chapters are devoted to the problems of why some people are not healed and why some people seem to lose their healing. The author answers these questions by sharing revelation he received through dreams from God. He also teaches from his many personal experiences and shares the observations of other healers. This is the first book on healing to harness the power of Facebook. By hosting discussion questions on Facebook, the author has collected the wisdom and experiences of hundreds of different healers. This may be the most comprehensive book on healing ever written. Praying Medic has worked as a paramedic for decades. He has prayed for many of his patients and seen them healed. You'll be encouraged and given hope for healing by the testimonies and dreams you'll read about in this book.

Book Synopsis Overcoming the Overwhelming by : C. D. Hildebrand
Download or read book Overcoming the Overwhelming written by C. D. Hildebrand and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2016-04-20 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are many challenges we face in life that have simple solutions. Others might take a greater effort, but eventually, we are successful. However, sometimes we experience difficulties that seem beyond our own abilities to overcome. After perhaps years of trying to improve without making any permanent progress, it is easy to feel discouraged and overwhelmed. It is perplexing to us when we observe that in other areas of our lives we are living victoriously. We might be doing very well in business and relationships and appear to everyone that we "have it all together." Yet, in other facets of our lives, we are still experiencing frustration and defeat. As the title of the book implies, in order to overcome the overwhelming, we must have faith in God, but how do we find new faith-a faith that will finally help us move "this" mountain? Jesus said that knowing the truth will set us free. So, first of all, we need to discover what the truth is, especially as it pertains to our overwhelming circumstance. Next, we need to face head-on any thought that is negating the truth or causing us to doubt God's goodness and His loving grace toward us. Then, we simply allow ourselves to believe that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do, not allowing anything to prevent us from receiving what He has provided. Set before you in this book is a 40-Day feast of truth that is shared with the objective of setting you free to believe fully in God's kind intentions toward us and receive the victory Jesus won for us. I hope you will be inspired to take this journey toward rediscovering faith in God so that you will finally overcome the overwhelming. Sincerely in Christ, C. D. Hildebrand"

Download or read book Faith that Heals written by H. Jane Teas and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2008-02 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Faith that Heals: Stories of God´s Love" by Jane Teas, Melinda Holland, and Georgianna Jackson The Centers for Disease Control funded this study to explore healing and faith. At the University of Carolina we began our academic study of divine healing with the assumption we knew what faith was, and that people would use God and prayer as coping mechanisms to make pain and suffering tolerable. Columbia was an ideal place to study the power of faith, with more than 800 churches to serve its 120,000 people. We often heard people in the hospital hallways talk about God and healing. But as we listened to over 100 people describe what it feels like to be healed by God, we began to understand that divine healing is far beyond a convenient coping mechanism. Some of the stories were almost identical to those described in the Bible, but in other stories, God seems at the beck and call of a believer, responding to desperate pleas, to shameful reproaches, and on occasion, amenable to bargaining health in return for faithful service. In our vignettes of healing, we found that God was active, not just a passive recipient of prayers, using visions, dreams, and whispers heard in the heart to heal and transform pain into a lightness of spirit. These stories tell of healings, but they also give 44 points of view about the nature of God´s mercy and grace.
