Book excerpt: "The natural world has inspired artists, seekers, and thinkers for millennia, but in recent times, as the pace of life has sped up, its demands have moved us in doors. Yet nature's capacity to lead us to important truths, to invigorate and restore our imagination and equilibrium, is infinite. Step Into Nature is a guide to make nature personal again, to stimulate awareness and increase our understanding of the environment while inspiring readers to develop and strengthen their imaginations. But being in nature doesn't mean flying off to remote, faraway places. Nature is as close as opening your front door--the sky above, the miniature gardens that insist their way up between the sidewalk cracks, the river just down the road. Patrice Vecchione shows readers how nature can support and enhance their own creative output, invigorate their curiosity, and restore their sense of connection to the earth. Plus, included in each chapter is "The Cabinet of Curiosities," exercises and suggestions for practical and unexpected ways that readers can stimulate their imaginations, deepen their relationships with nature, and experience the harmony between creativity and the natural world"--

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The focus of this book, Living Beyond Yourself is a self motivated book, as it relates to Self Esteem, and Self Motivation. It's a book that let the readers discover a new look about themselves, different from how the World sees them. Many people put their pictures on Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram etc: because they are looking for comments, and likes, while some refused to show their pictures, because they think less of themselves. However, it's not about what people think, or the many likes. It's about what the person think of himself, or herself. Imagine someone received one thousand likes, yet the person refused to love himself! What difference would he made? This book was written with the tools, and for you to see yourself for who yo u really are. A book about self confidence, self control, and to take your mind to another level of thinking. It is to remind you that you were fearfully, wonderfully, and perfectly created. This means, there's no mistake about the person you really are. The world's imagination is for you to see yourself different. It's the World desire to label you, and to price you, then change your value. However, Living Beyond Yourself is to live beyond how the World sees you. Because you were perfectly created, no one can have your shape, or your finger print. No one can have your D.N.A. The reason so is, you are different. This also means: you are different to make a difference. You might cause a problem to some people. If they cannot solve you, surely, you will be their problem solver. You were born to be their problem solver. There's a different you in the person that you are. You have the power from within to discover the new you. After reading this book, you will begin to have a new look f rom the inside out. This is my sixth book, and a "Must Read".

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Living Beyond Nightfall – Troy Buckner's real life journey to wholeness... The world is about to read a true story filled with pain, disappointment and one woman's emotional fight for her life and that of her four wonderful sons. Buckner's story will take you to the very depths of despair and show you peace beyond understanding. It will reveal how her belief in the betterment of her community and love for her culture left her struggling to survive through a felonious alleged embezzlement charge which left her determine to put the fragments of her life back together again. Buckner's desire for penning this book is to ensure that the world never forgets the mayhem committed within our own communities by people who claimed their undying love for us. Buckner is force to cling to the most powerful vestige of her childhood--the wisdom she had been endowed with by her father and her southern community. She was raised by a compassionate father who instilled greatness in her life by examples of his own broken struggles of growing up in the Deep South during slavery. Someone once said, 'home isn't just a place where you live... it's a state of the heart'... However, growing up in the Deep South meant so much more for Buckner. Lake Providence may have held a very small place on the map, but it held a bigger place in her heart and soul – something that she have connected to her entire life. Her community believed in hard work and integrity – most of all having the courage not to give up – not to quit. She was encouraged by her community to pursue an education during a time when no one cared enough to see that black youths had a professional career. On Buckner's fifteenth birthday, her father arranged for her to fly to Las Vegas to visit her mom for the first time in eight years. Later that same year, her father roused with a vision to start a general contractors and plumbing business, despite the fact that he couldn't read or write nor could he add or subtract. Recognizing his limitations, he never minimized the importance of education. Her father instilled in her the value of education and that the mind was too valuable to waste by introducing her to the business world at an early age. He inspired her to see that the greatest equalizer is indoctrinating one's mind with wisdom and knowledge, recognizing that ignorance is the only bridge that separates us. He taught her to set realistic goals, and then work harder than anyone else to experience success as a result of her hard work. He asked her to teach him how to read and write. This moment she would cherish for a lifetime. Buckner was elated to see her father signing his checks - and reading his first book, even though it was on a first-grade level, at the age of 50. Buckner had kept a diary since she was eight years old, and eventually acquired a passion for writing. It provided a natural outlet to help her find that perfect peace in the things that she could not understand nor change. She felt somehow God was preparing her for an unknown journey. Buckner and her family went through five of the most implausible years of their life, orphaned penniless and nearly homeless. Buckner unwavering perseverance forced a victorious triumph in her matter of the heart that was swept up in the chaos of deception, lies and cruel intentions. For over five years, the Institution and CPA Firm attempted to strip her of every shred of her dignity, character and integrity. In a climate of systematic abuse where ignorance is power and justification for wrongdoing, Buckner fights for her improbable survival. Buckner's story will give you hope, and it will confirm the power of faith. Her story will take you through many levels of brokenness – gleaning from her journey will lift you up and help you not only survive but transcend suffering, injustice, and loss. Displaying her extraordinary strength and endurance, Living Beyond Nightfall is a brilliant display of individual resilience.

Book excerpt: The creator of the Unmistakable Creative podcast makes a counterintuitive argument: By focusing your creative work on pleasing yourself, you can increase your productivity, happiness, and (eventually, paradoxically) the size of your audience. Creating for your own pleasure--whether you're writing a novel, composing songs, or painting a landscape--can seem pointless. It's tempting to focus on pursuing money and fame, rather than the process itself. But as Srini Rao warns, creating then turns into a chore that can harm your self-esteem and suck the pleasure out of life, rather than being a source of joy. Rao, host of the podcast The Unmistakable Creative, argues that we should counter this thinking by intentionally creating art for ourselves alone--an audience of one. In this book he shares the fascinating true stories of creatives who took this path, along with actionable tips and the research of creativity experts. You'll learn, for example: How Oprah's intentional focus on her own work rather than the opinions of everyone else catapulted her into one of the most popular talk shows of all time. How being process-driven can not only help you produce more work, but can make you happier outside of your creative time. How to put together a creative "team of rivals" whose feedback can help you hone your craft and filter out useless feedback. By playing to an audience of one, we can find more happiness, increased productivity, and a greater sense of community.

It's a life raft to help you navigate life after cancer treatment; to help you live better, think better and feel better and show you how to embrace your new future. After the treatment stops it can be difficult to know how to move on, and many survivors feel stuck in limbo between who they used to be before the diagnosis and who they are today. This is how Saskia felt when she was told the treatment was over: she felt like a Cancer Misfit, recovered physically, but mentally and emotionally still healing. Now, Saskia shares the tools that enabled her to become the happiest version of herself she has ever known. In these pages, you'll find the truth - that your best life and most beautiful self was not the person you were before your cancer diagnosis, but the person you are today; that you've become even more powerful because of the hell you went through, and that the greatest chapter of your life is here and now. The Cancer Misfit will introduce you to the person you've become as a consequence of the trauma you endured and help you to embrace your new life after treatment; a life full of confidence, happiness and peace.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "John Paul Lederach's work in the field of conciliation and mediation is internationally recognized. He has provided consultation, training and direct mediation in a range of situations from the Miskito/Sandinista conflict in Nicaragua to Somalia, Northern Ireland, Tajikistan, and the Philippines. His influential 1997 book Building Peace has become a classic in the discipline. In this book, Lederach poses the question, "How do we transcend the cycles of violence that bewitch our human community while still living in them?" Peacebuilding, in his view, is both a learned skill and an art. Finding this art, he says, requires a worldview shift. Conflict professionals must envision their work as a creative act-an exercise of what Lederach terms the "moral imagination." This imagination must, however, emerge from and speak to the hard realities of human affairs. The peacebuilder must have one foot in what is and one foot beyond what exists. The book is organized around four guiding stories that point to the moral imagination but are incomplete. Lederach seeks to understand what happened in these individual cases and how they are relevant to large-scale change. His purpose is not to propose a grand new theory. Instead he wishes to stay close to the "messiness" of real processes and change, and to recognize the serendipitous nature of the discoveries and insights that emerge along the way. overwhelmed the equally important creative process. Like most professional peacemakers, Lederach sees his work as a religious vocation. Lederach meditates on his own calling and on the spirituality that moves ordinary people to reject violence and seek reconciliation. Drawing on his twenty-five years of experience in the field he explores the evolution of his understanding of peacebuilding and points the way toward the future of the art." http://www.loc.gov/catdir/enhancements/fy0616/2004011794-d.html.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Real estate day trading is using the Internet to buy and sell houses without leaving home. In many cases, the investor closes on a house and resells it the same day. Readers will learn the author's system for how to buy and sell 5-10 houses a month in today's market, using the Internet, phone, fax, and email to analyze, research, and find the properties, buyers, and others needed for the transaction. Author Larry Goins has personally done deals in nine different states and has students in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Israel, the Philippines, and Denmark. Day trading can be used for wholesaling properties to other investors, retailing, lease options, short sales, foreclosure investing, etc. The basic steps are: Search online for potential properties to make offers on, using specific techniques for finding the right ones. Once an offer is accepted, usually within 1-2 weeks, put it on paper using clauses included in the book, and get the property inspected by a rehab contractor to get a free estimate of how much the repairs will cost. This is done by finding reputable contractors online and through referrals from realtors and through autoresponders. Order an appraisal. Sell it fast! Using the buyers list you have built on the internet through email marketing groups, social networking sites, blogs, free classified sites, bank-owned property sites, and more, send an email with the details of the property and instructions on how they can get the property under contract. Usually within two hours several potential buyers will reply. Set up a closing to buy it and to sell it on the same day; closings are about 30 minutes apart. By it at 10:00 and sell it at 10:30, for example. There are many ways to fund and close on the property. The book will contain step-by-step, easy processes for assignments, options, flex options, simultaneous closings, using hard money, private money, cash partners, and credit partners, none of which will require an investor's own cash or credit. With praise from New York Times Bestselling Author Dr. Albert Lowery, Robert Shemin, Frank McKinney and foreword by Michael E. Gerber. Larry Goins (Lake Wylie, SC; www.larrygoins.com) is one of the real estate industry's most popular speakers. He buys and sells 5-15 houses a month all over the US, in today's difficult market, from the comfort of his office. Larry speaks live an average of twice a week and holds two to three teleconferences a week. He is licensed as a mortgage lender, mortgage broker, real estate broker, and general contractor in North and South Carolina. Larry served as President (2003 & 2004) of the Metrolina Real Estate Investors Association in Charlotte, NC, a not-for-profit organization that has over 350 members (it is also the local chapter of the National Real Estate Investors Association). He has been investing in real estate for over 20 years.
