Book Synopsis Laminated Composite Plates and Shells by : Jianqiao Ye
Download or read book Laminated Composite Plates and Shells written by Jianqiao Ye and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-06-27 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Laminated Composite Plates and Shells presents a systematic and comprehensive coverage of the three-dimensional modelling of these structures. It uses the state space approach to provide novel tools for accurate three-dimensional analyses of thin and thick structural components composed of laminated composite materials. In contrast to the traditional treatment of laminated materials, the state space method guarantees a continuous interfacial stress field across material boundaries. Other unique features of the analysis include the non-dependency of a problem's degrees of freedom on the number of material layers of a laminate. Apart from the introductions to composite materials, three-dimensional elasticity and the concept of state space equations presented in the first three chapters, the book reviews available analytical and numerical three-dimensional state space solutions for bending, vibration and buckling of laminated composite plates and shells of various shapes. The applications of the state space method also include the analyses of piezoelectric laminates and interfacial stresses near free edges. The book presents numerous tables and graphics that show accurate three-dimensional solutions of laminated structural components. Many of the numerical results presented in the book are important in their own right and also as test problems for validating new numerical methods. Laminated Composite Plates and Shells will be of benefit to all materials and structural engineers looking to understand the detailed behaviour of these important materials. It will also interest academic scientists researching that behaviour and engineers from more specialised fields such as aerospace which are becoming increasingly dependent on composites.

Book Synopsis A Differential Quadrature Hierarchical Finite Element Method by : Bo Liu
Download or read book A Differential Quadrature Hierarchical Finite Element Method written by Bo Liu and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2021-08-03 with total page 651 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The differential quadrature hierarchical finite element method (DQHFEM) was proposed by Bo Liu. This method incorporated the advantages and the latest research achievements of the hierarchical finite element method (HFEM), the differential quadrature method (DQM) and the isogeometric analysis (IGA). The DQHFEM also overcame many limitations or difficulties of the three methods. This unique compendium systemically introduces the construction of various DQHFEM elements of commonly used geometric shapes like triangle, tetrahedrons, pyramids, etc. Abundant examples are also included such as statics and dynamics, isotropic materials and composites, linear and nonlinear problems, plates as well as shells and solid structures. This useful reference text focuses largely on numerical algorithms, but also introduces some latest advances on high order mesh generation, which often has been regarded as the major bottle neck for the wide application of high order FEM.

Download or read book Structural Analysis Systems written by A. Niku-Lari and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-06-06 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Structural Analysis Systems: Software—Hardware Capability—Compatibility—Applications, Volume 2 is a practical guidebook on structural analysis systems and their applications. It provides detailed information about a specific software, its postprocessor capabilities and limitations, computer-aided design connection, and compatibility with the most common computers. Several practical examples from industry with computer and user cost are given. This volume consists of 17 chapters and begins with a description of AFAG, a dual finite element analysis program based on the flexibility method. The discussion then turns to the AQUADYN system, designed primarily to reduce the hydrodynamics problem to a linear integral equation for large floating or immersed structures. The following chapters focus on other structural analysis computer programs such as BOSOR4 and BOSOR5, INFESA, MEF/MOSAIC, RCAFAG, and STRUGEN. Some general purpose and special purpose finite element programs used for stress analysis of composite materials are also considered. This book will be a useful resource for practitioners in scientific and industrial disciplines such as mechanical or civil engineering, informatics, applied mathematics, and computer science.

Book Synopsis Static and Dynamic Buckling of Thin-Walled Plate Structures by : Tomasz Kubiak
Download or read book Static and Dynamic Buckling of Thin-Walled Plate Structures written by Tomasz Kubiak and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-28 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph deals with buckling and postbuckling behavior of thin plates and thin-walled structures with flat wall subjected to static and dynamic load. The investigations are carried out in elastic range. The basic assumption here is the thin plate theory. This method is used to determination the buckling load and postbuckling analysis of thin-walled structures subjected to static and dynamic load. The book introduces two methods for static and dynamic buckling investigation which allow for a wider understanding of the phenomenon. Two different methods also can allow uncoupling of the phenomena occurring at the same time and attempt to estimate their impact on the final result. A general mathematical model, adopted in proposed analytical-numerical method, enables the consideration of all types of stability loss i.e.local, global and interactive forms of buckling. The applied numerical-numerical method includes adjacent of walls, shear-lag phenomenon and a deplanation of cross-sections.
Book Synopsis Functionally Graded Materials by : Souhir Zghal
Download or read book Functionally Graded Materials written by Souhir Zghal and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2024-08-27 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Functionally Graded Materials: Analysis and Applications to FGM, FG-CNTRC and FG Porous Structures aims to disseminates knowledge between users, manufacturers, designers, and researchers involved in structures or structural components manufactured using functionally graded materials. Despite a number of existing texts on the theory and analysis of plates and/or shells, there is not a single book that is devoted entirely to the analysis of functionally graded-based materials including FGMs, FG-CNTRCs and FG porous plates and shells. Functionally Graded Materials provides the reader with current research conducted in the field of composite materials, numerical simulations, computer methods and mechanical responses of structural components under different scenarios. This book is a valuable reference source for postgraduate students, engineers, scientists, professors, researchers, and applied mathematicians in this field.

Book Synopsis Mathematical Methods in Dynamical Systems by : S. Chakraverty
Download or read book Mathematical Methods in Dynamical Systems written by S. Chakraverty and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-05-19 with total page 393 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The art of applying mathematics to real-world dynamical problems such as structural dynamics, fluid dynamics, wave dynamics, robot dynamics, etc. can be extremely challenging. Various aspects of mathematical modelling that may include deterministic or uncertain (fuzzy, interval, or stochastic) scenarios, along with integer or fractional order, are vital to understanding these dynamical systems. Mathematical Methods in Dynamical Systems offers problem-solving techniques and includes different analytical, semi-analytical, numerical, and machine intelligence methods for finding exact and/or approximate solutions of governing equations arising in dynamical systems. It provides a singular source of computationally efficient methods to investigate these systems and includes coverage of various industrial applications in a simple yet comprehensive way.
