This book was released on 2018-07-10 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report discusses different approaches to stable H infinity controller design applied to the problem of augmenting the longitudinal dynamics of an aircraft. Stability of the H infinity controller is investigated by analyzing the effects of changes in the performance index weights, and modifications in the measured outputs. The existence of a stable suboptimal controller is also investigated. It is shown that this is equivalent to finding a stable controller, whose infinity norm is less than a specified bound, for an unstable plant which is determined from parametrization of all H infinity controllers. Examples are given for a gust alleviation and a command tracking problem. Oezbay, Hitay and Garg, Sanjay Glenn Research Center...

Book Synopsis Robust Control by : Jürgen Ackermann
Download or read book Robust Control written by Jürgen Ackermann and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2002-07-26 with total page 502 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New results, fresh ideas and new applications in automotive and flight control systems are presented in this second edition of Robust Control. The book presents parametric methods and tools for the simultaneous design of several representative operating conditions and several design specifications in the time and frequency domains. It also covers methods for robustness analysis that guarantee the desired properties for all possible values of the plant uncertainty. A lot of practical application experience enters into the case studies of driver support systems that avoid skidding and rollover of cars, automatic car steering systems, flight controllers for unstable aircraft and engine-out controllers. The book also shows the historic roots of the methods, their limitations and research needs in robust control.
Book Synopsis Flight Dynamics Principles by : Michael V. Cook
Download or read book Flight Dynamics Principles written by Michael V. Cook and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2012-10-03 with total page 608 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study of flight dynamics requires a thorough understanding of the theory of the stability and control of aircraft, an appreciation of flight control systems and a grounding in the theory of automatic control. Flight Dynamics Principles is a student focused text and provides easy access to all three topics in an integrated modern systems context. Written for those coming to the subject for the first time, the book provides a secure foundation from which to move on to more advanced topics such as, non-linear flight dynamics, flight simulation, handling qualities and advanced flight control. - Additional examples to illustrate the application of computational procedures using tools such as MATLAB®, MathCad® and Program CC® - Improved compatibility with, and more expansive coverage of the North American notational style - Expanded coverage of lateral-directional static stability, manoeuvrability, command augmentation and flight in turbulence - An additional coursework study on flight control design for an unmanned air vehicle (UAV)
Book Synopsis Automatic Control in Aerospace 1992 by : D.B. DeBra
Download or read book Automatic Control in Aerospace 1992 written by D.B. DeBra and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2017-01-11 with total page 573 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Space vehicles have become increasingly complex in recent years, and the number of missions has multiplied as a result of extending frontiers in the exploration of our planetary system and the universe beyond. The advancement of automatic control in aerospace reflects these developments. Key areas covered in these proceedings include: the size and complexity of spacecrafts and the increasingly stringent performance requirements to be fulfilled in a harsh and unpredictable environment; the merger of space vehicles and airplanes into space planes to launch and retrieve payloads by reusable winged vehicles; and the demand to increase space automation and autonomy to reduce human involvement as much as possible in manned, man-tended and unmanned missions. This volume covers not only the newly evolving key technologies but also the classical issues of guidance, navigation and control.
