Book Synopsis Silicon Systems for Wireless LAN by : Zoran Stamenkovic
Download or read book Silicon Systems for Wireless LAN written by Zoran Stamenkovic and published by World Scientific Publishing (Uk)Limited. This book was released on 2020-09-14 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today's integrated silicon circuits and systems for wireless communications are of a huge complexity. This unique compendium covers all the steps (from the system-level to the transistor-level) necessary to design, model, verify, implement, and test a silicon system. It bridges the gap between the system-world and the transistor-world (between communication, system, circuit, device, and test engineers). It is extremely important nowadays (and will be more important in the future) for communication, system, and circuit engineers to understand the physical implications of system and circuit solutions based on hardware/software co-design as well as for device and test engineers to cope with the system and circuit requirements in terms of power, speed, and data throughput.

Book Synopsis Negative Group Delay Devices by : Blaise Ravelo
Download or read book Negative Group Delay Devices written by Blaise Ravelo and published by Institution of Engineering and Technology. This book was released on 2018-12-04 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Negative Group Delay Devices: From concepts to applications introduces the theoretical concept, analysis, design methodology and implementation of negative group delay (NGD). The NGD concept is a recent topic in electrical and electronic engineering research based on an unconventional function; the generation of an output signal seemingly in time-advance of the input signal. The NGD function has been exploited to develop experimental high-performance electronic devices, and novel design features of radio frequency (RF) and microwave electronic devices, such as filters, power dividers and amplifiers. Examples include the realization of non-Foster reactive elements, shortening or reducing delay lines, enhancing the efficiency of feedforward linear amplifiers, improvement of phase shifters accuracy and bandwidth, equalization of electrical interconnect effects for the microwave, digital and mixed signal integrity improvement, and minimizing beam-squint in series-fed antenna arrays.
Book Synopsis Interactive Dynamics of Convection and Solidification by : Peter Ehrhard
Download or read book Interactive Dynamics of Convection and Solidification written by Peter Ehrhard and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Crystal growth, casting, soldering, welding, high-energy surface treatment, nuclear safety systems and geophysical flows are just a few examples where solidification and convection occur together. These processes are interactive on micro- and macroscales: flow affects the distribution of heat and species and hence the freezing process, while solidification evolves flow boundaries, as in crusting, for example, and hence can radically alter the convection. Mathematical modellers, experimentalists and applied scientists were invited to this colloquium with the aim of consolidating our understanding of such interactions, of identifying key outstanding issues, and of developing new approaches in this important area of fundamental research. Both invited and contributed papers focus on both fundamental and technologically relevant problems.

Book Synopsis Modeling and Simulation of Microstructure Evolution in Solidifying Alloys by : Laurentiu Nastac
Download or read book Modeling and Simulation of Microstructure Evolution in Solidifying Alloys written by Laurentiu Nastac and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-05-08 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of Modeling and Simulation of Microstructure Evolution in Solidifying Alloys is to describe in a clear mathematical language the physics of the solidification structure evolution of cast alloys. The concepts and methodologies presented here for the net-shaped casting and the ingot remelt processes can be applied, with some modifications, to model other solidification processes such as welding and deposition processes. Another aim of the book is to provide simulation examples of the solidification structure modeling in some crucial commercial casting technologies as well as to provide practical techniques for controlling the structure formation during the solidification processes.

Book Synopsis Solidification by : Jonathan A. Dantzig
Download or read book Solidification written by Jonathan A. Dantzig and published by EPFL Press. This book was released on 2016-11-18 with total page 711 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Solidification is one of the oldest processes for producing complex shapes for applications ranging from art to industry, and remains as one of the most important commercial processes for many materials. Since the 1980s, numerous fundamental developments in the understanding of solidification processes and microstructure formation have come from both analytical theories and the application of computational techniques using commonly available powerful computers. This book integrates these developments in a comprehensive volume that also presents and places them in the context of more classical theories. This second edition highlights the key concepts within each chapter to help guide the reader through the most important aspects of the topics. The figures are now in color, in order to improve the visualization of phenomena and concepts. Recent important developments in the field since the first edition was published have also been added. The three-part text is aimed at graduate and professional engineers. The first part, Fundamentals and Macroscale Phenomena, presents the thermodynamics of solutions and then builds on that subject to motivate and describe equilibrium phase diagrams. Transport phenomena are discussed next, focusing on the issues of most importance to liquid-solid phase transformations, then moving on to describing in detail both analytical and numerical approaches to solving such problems. The second part, Microstructure, employs these fundamental concepts for the treatment of nucleation, dendritic growth, microsegregation, eutectic and peritectic solidification, and microstructure competition. This part concludes with a chapter describing the coupling of macro- and microscopic phenomena in microstructure development. The third and final part describes various types of Defects that may occur, with emphasis on porosity, hot tearing and macrosegregation, presented using the modeling tools and microstructure descriptions developed earlier.
