Book Synopsis On the Resolving Power of Ground Mapping Radar Antennas by : J. F. McIlvenna
Download or read book On the Resolving Power of Ground Mapping Radar Antennas written by J. F. McIlvenna and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mapping of extended, cultural ground targets by an airborne radar is examined using communication theory concepts including those of the antenna transfer function and the target spatial frequency spectrum. Use of the set of transfer functions that correspond to Taylor aperture distributions and specification of the targets directly in terms of their spatial frequency spectra, permits one to examine the antenna images for quality and resolution. The results obtained indicate that resolution for a class of ground targets can be much better than is predicted by the two-point Rayleigh resolution criterion. It is also true that there can be situations in which the shape of the antenna images are quite independent of the radiation pattern. Several types of spatial noise were also included in the input spectrum to investigate noise effects on image quality and resolution. (Author).
Book Synopsis Electromagnetic Properties of a Plasma-covered Antenna by : Daniel J. Jacavanco
Download or read book Electromagnetic Properties of a Plasma-covered Antenna written by Daniel J. Jacavanco and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Antenna patterns (E-plane) of an X-band horn mounted in a ground plane and covered by a plasma slab were measured. A pulsed plasma was produced by capacitor discharge in a rectangular pyrex container of 6 in. x 2 in. x 24 in. i.d. Microwave interferometer measurements of the electron density were made at 9 and 35 Gc. Antenna patterns are presented which show a sharp decrease in radiated power at certain angles corresponding to the 'optics critical angle'. Good agreement is obtained for the movement of the optics critical angle with plasma density. (Author).

Download or read book DEBUG - An Extension to Current Online Debugging Techniques written by Thomas G. Evans and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A method for online assembly-language debugging which greatly simplifies several of the bookkeeping tasks characteristically associated with that process has been developed and implemented in a program for the UNIVAC M-460 computer at Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories. With this program, an online user may insert or delete (in symbolic assembly language) any number of lines at any point in his previously assembled program in core, with the remainder of the program being relocated appropriately.
Book Synopsis Magneto-ionic Coupling in an Inhomogeneous Medium by : Yūji Inoue
Download or read book Magneto-ionic Coupling in an Inhomogeneous Medium written by Yūji Inoue and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 46 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The propagation of electromagnetic waves in a horizontally stratified layer of gyrotropic medium is discussed. Derivation of a comprehensive representation for magneto-ionic coupling coefficients allows interpretation of the physical significance of the coupling. Introduction of an invariant quantity for an inhomogeneous medium becomes an important guide for numerical solutions of the wave equation. Numerical results of magneto-ionic coupling coefficients are presented. Based on region properties, characteristic wave types are defined: for the isotropic region, linearly polarized waves are used; for the anisotropic region, elliptically polarized waves generally are applied. Book Synopsis On the Relative Efficiencies of Context-free Grammar Recognizers by : T. V. Griffiths
Download or read book On the Relative Efficiencies of Context-free Grammar Recognizers written by T. V. Griffiths and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A number of diverse recognition procedures that have been proposed for parsing sentences with respect to a context-free grammar are described in this paper by means of a common device. Each procedure is defined by giving an algorithm for obtaining a nondeterministic Turing Machine recognizer that is equivalent to a given context-free grammar. The formalization of the Turing Machine has been chosen to make possible particularly simple descriptions of the parsing procedures considered.

Book Synopsis Characteristic Wave Cataloguing for Ray Path Determination by : Yūji Inoue
Download or read book Characteristic Wave Cataloguing for Ray Path Determination written by Yūji Inoue and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wave cataloguing suitable for ray tracing of a pulsed wave packet in a weakly-dissipative, horizontallystratified magnetoionic medium is described, Particular attention is devoted to the cataloguing of the various characteristic waves so that the influence of the local ionization density and collision frequency can be understood. The procedure presented is applicable under general incident conditions and complex refractive index surfaces. The Booker quartic equation is used to derive the unambiguous wave normals and wave identification is obtained from the dispersion equation. A modified CMA. diagram including collisions is illustrated. (Author).
