In this sense, the lack of competitiveness is the main reason why 80% of SMEs fails in the first five years and 90% during the ten first years. Competitiveness is an imperative issue for all the countries in order to maintain or increase high levels of income and employment, and it can only be achieved through diversification, keeping away from the dependence on primary–commodity products and moving up to marketing and branded products. This research investigated the problem of the loss of competitiveness of Mexican SMEs, from the point of view of marketing and brand management, and its main objective is to find the kind of marketing management and branding deficiencies, which are preventing the competitiveness of Mexican SMEs against the global competition. A triangulation methodological approach (quantitative & qualitative) was used, included questionnaires and group interviews with Mexican SMEs business leaders, in order to get first-hand information of the real Mexican business environment. The extensive review of literature has shown the enormous lack of knowledge about marketing principles and branding in Mexican SMEs, causing that most of these companies which remains focused only in production and manufacturing, rather than marketing, obtaining low levels of profitability, and making them vulnerable to the international business environment.

Download or read book Research Anthology on Challenges for Women in Leadership Roles written by Management Association, Information Resources and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-03-19 with total page 877 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The role of women in the workplace has rapidly advanced and changed within the previous decade, leading to a current position in which women are taking over leadership roles and being offered these positions more than ever before. However, a gap still exists with the representation of women in the workforce especially in power positions and roles of authority in organizations. While the representation of women in leadership roles is impressive and exciting for the future, women still face many challenges when taking over these positions of power and face many issues related to gender inclusivity. There is also still gender bias and discrimination against women who have been given the opportunity to become authority figures. It is essential to acknowledge and discuss these critical issues and challenges that women in leadership roles must handle to better understand the current climate of gender roles across various industries and types of leadership. The Research Anthology on Challenges for Women in Leadership Roles discusses the role of women in positions of authority across diverse industries and businesses. By reviewing the biases, struggles, discrimination, and overall challenges of being a woman in a powerful role, women leaders can be better understood for their role in a male-dominated world. This includes topics of concern such as equal treatment, proper implementation of women’s policies, social justice activism, discrimination, and sexual harassment in the workplace, and the importance of diversity and empowerment of women in leadership positions with chapters pertaining specifically to African-American, Hispanic, Asian, and Middle Eastern women. This book is ideal for professionals, researchers, managers, executives, leaders, academicians, sociologists, policymakers, and students in fields that include humanities, social sciences, women’s studies, gender studies, business management, management science, health sciences, educational studies, and political sciences.

This book was released on with total page 39 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Around the world, factoring is a growing source of external financing for corporations and small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs). What is unique about factoring is that the credit provided by a lender is explicitly linked to the value of a supplier ' s accounts receivable and not the supplier ' s overall creditworthiness. Therefore, factoring allows high-risk suppliers to transfer their credit risk to their high-quality buyers. Factoring may be particularly useful in countries with weak judicial enforcement and imperfect records of upholding seniority claims because receivables are sold, rather than collateralized, and factored receivables are not part of the estate of a bankrupt SME. Empirical tests find that factoring is larger in countries with greater economic development and growth and developed credit information bureaus. In addition, the author finds that creditor rights are not related to factoring ... " -- Cover verso.
