Download or read book Seymour written by Catherine Lievens and published by eXtasy Books. This book was released on 2024-04-26 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seymour has complicated feelings about finding his mate. His parents taught him that when he did, he’d have to quit his job and focus entirely on their bond, and he’s not ready to do that. He worked too hard to get where he is, and he plans to finish training to become a council assassin. Jimmy’s tired of being a council enforcer. Being sent on missions means he wasn’t there when his brother needed him, but he plans on changing that. When Jimmy and Seymour meet, Jimmy’s glad he got ahead and asked to be transferred. Seymour isn’t sure what to think of Jimmy, but he’s Wallace’s brother, so Seymour needs to give him a chance. But he’s not quitting his job. Seymour has to face his parents’ antiquated view of mates, but Jimmy has a more complicated problem—his father. Wallace Senior isn’t happy with Jimmy’s decision, and when he’s not happy, no one is. Jimmy and Seymour will have to fight for what they want. But will they get it?
Download or read book Guts written by Seymour Simon and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2005-05-03 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why is it important tochew your food? Can you guess how long it takes for food to travel through your body? Could you possibly have twenty feet of small intestines? Where does that bad-smelling gas come from? Your digestive system is out of sight and out of mind -- until things don't go right. Then you may wonder how these important organs work! You'll find the answers in Seymour Simon's smooth, well-organized, and fascinating introduction to the digestive system. He explains how it works twenty-four hours a day, turning pizza, sandwiches, milk, and other food into energy and nutrients and waste. Striking photographs on every spread show how major organs including the stomach and intestines move food through your body, and how, eventually, waste is eliminated. Guts takes the mystery out of something that happens to everyone, every day, while at the same time sharing a sense of wonder about the human body.
Book Synopsis Collections & Recollections by : Donna Snethun
Download or read book Collections & Recollections written by Donna Snethun and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-06-26 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My raison dtre. This is a book of my memoirs, but it is more than that. It goes back in time to include stories I have heard since childhood about my forefathers (and mothers). I am grateful that the writing bug has been so strong in the Falla family. I look on whatever writing abilities I have as a gift. To me, it is more than a hobbyits a passion! The histories that were written by Uncle Art Falla in the history books of Kinsella and District (Hoofprints and Homesteading) and of Sedgewick and District (Sedgewick Sentinel) were invaluable in my writing of this book. Picking the brains of family memberssisters, cousins, and Aunt Thordis Taylor have been of enormous assistance. While our memories of any particular incident may not be exactly the same, the sharing and the jogging has made the memories I have come alive. In 2005, my original book Collections & Recollections: 1st edition was printed. It is a book of memoirs. I have received wonderful feedback on that book and hope that you enjoy this book as much as did the readers of Collections & Recollections: 1st edition. I have lived too interesting a life to not leave this legacy. It seemed only right to include stories about my childrens paternal ancestors, the Snethuns and the Sathers. After having been married to Andy Snethun for fifty-five years, in many ways, these families seem like my family. I hope you enjoy following the unique lives of several generations of these pioneer families. I have really tried to write only stories that very few of my readers will be able to say, That happened to me too. Scattered throughout my memoirs, you will find poetry, all of which are my originals. Sometimes I write poetry like I talknot knowing when to quit! I write poetry as long as the thoughts keep coming. (I try to control myself when I talk so I dont do the same).
Download or read book Gonzo written by Corey Seymour and published by Little, Brown. This book was released on 2007-10-31 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few American lives are stranger, more action-packed, or wilder than that of Hunter S. Thompson. Born a rebel in Louisville, Kentucky, Thompson spent a lifetime channeling his energy and insight into such landmark works as Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - and his singular and provocative style challenged and revolutionized writing. Now, for the first time ever, Jann Wenner and Corey Seymour have interviewed the Good Doctor's friends, family, acquaintances and colleagues and woven their memories into a brilliant oral biography. From Hell's Angels leader Sonny Barger to Ralph Steadman to Jack Nicholson to Jimmy Buffett to Pat Buchanan to Marilyn Manson and Thompson's two wives, son, and longtime personal assistant, more than 100 members of Thompson's inner circle bring into vivid focus the life of a man who was even more complicated, tormented, and talented than any previous portrait has shown. It's all here in its uncensored glory: the creative frenzies, the love affairs, the drugs and booze and guns and explosives and, ultimately, the tragic suicide. As Thompson was fond of saying, "Buy the ticket, take the ride."

It also includes the winner and runner-up from the inaugural Under-21 Prize. The stories range widely in time and place - from Wales to Sweden and from the First World War to the present day - but all of them are rich in a sense of 'human-ness' and contain as Rhys Davies described a 'tiny, concentrated explosion' that makes you re-evaluate your life and yourself. Together they help to answer the question 'what makes a good story?' The title of the anthology, Catch of the Day, is taken from the winning entry, which deals with the question of loss and bereavement with a subtle and unexpected twist.
Book Synopsis Underwear Soup by : Wayne Felsenfeld
Download or read book Underwear Soup written by Wayne Felsenfeld and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2001-02-20 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Stupid" Seymour Klotz was a disenfranchised young individual. After all, in science lab, he mistakenly invented a substance that glued a visiting foreign dignitary's hand to his ass. And he was persuaded to rent a suit, for an hour, to a funeral parlor that needed the garment for a naked stiff. It was evident that the "gene pool" was sufficiently the culprit. Claude, his father, who was a shop steward in a nose hair clipper factory, was riddled with dysfunctional roadblocks. For example, Claude tried to return a toy male doll that had embarassing large genitalia. Also, he paid for expensive root canal for his boss' howling dog and was charged $100 for a TV service call, where the technician needed only to plug the set into the wall outlet. Through some strange law of physics, things changed suddenly. Parlaying monies earned from selling his dirty underwear, having a unique flavor, to an enterprising caterer, turning it into underwear soup, Seymour gained great wealth. He reversed the constant advice from his parking attendant associate, Bump, who had the uncanny knack of always being wrong. His mind was eventually analyzed at the University of Pennsylvania to study how a person could alway be in error.
