This book was released on 1993 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: LE FONCTIONNEMENT D'UNE COLONNE D'EXTRACTION LIQUIDE-LIQUIDE EST ESSENTIELLEMENT CARACTERISE PAR L'HYDRODYNAMIQUE, LE TRANSFERT DE MATIERE MULTICONSTITUANT ET L'EQUILIBRE THERMODYNAMIQUE. POUR LA SIMULATION ET LA CONCEPTION D'UN PROCEDE D'EXTRACTION DIFFERENTES APPROCHES ONT ETE POURSUIVIES, CHACUNE D'ELLES PRIVILEGIANT AU NIVEAU DU MODELE L'UN DE CES TROIS ASPECTS. L'OBJECTIF DU TRAVAIL EST DE PROPOSER UN MODELE QUI COUPLE LA DESCRIPTION DETAILLEE DE L'HYDRODYNAMIQUE ET DU TRANSFERT DE MATIERE MULTICONSTITUANT. L'APPROCHE CHOISIE REPOSE SUR LE CONCEPT D'ETAGE DIT DE NON-EQUILIBRE. DES FACTEURS EMPIRIQUES TELS QUE L'EFFICACITE D'ETAGE, INTRODUITS DANS LA LITTERATURE POUR TENTER DE PALLIER LES DEFICIENCES DES MODELES D'ETAGES THEORIQUES, SONT ENTIEREMENT SUPPRIMES. L'INTERPHASE EST REPRESENTEE PAR UN MODELE DE DOUBLE FILM, DANS LEQUEL L'EQUILIBRE THERMODYNAMIQUE EST ADMIS. LES FLUX DE TRANSFERT DE TOUS LES CONSTITUANTS SONT DECRITS EN NE FAISANT INTERVENIR QUE DES PARAMETRES BINAIRES LOCAUX. SUR LE PLAN HYDRODYNAMIQUE, UN MODELE DE POPULATION DE GOUTTES A ETE ADOPTE AFIN DE PRENDRE EN COMPTE LE CARACTERE POLYDISPERSE DE LA PHASE DISPERSEE. AINSI, LE MODELE REPOSE EXPLICITEMENT SUR LES MECANISMES FONDAMENTAUX DE TRANSPORT, DE RUPTURE ET DE COALESCENCE DES GOUTTES. LA COLONNE EST REPRESENTEE PAR UNE SEQUENCE D'ETAGES AVEC DEBITS DE RETOUR PERMETTANT DE REPRESENTER UN ECOULEMENT DE TYPE PISTON-DISPERSION POUR LES DEUX PHASES. SUR CHAQUE ETAGE, LES EQUATIONS DE BILAN MATIERE, DE FLUX DE TRANSFERT ET D'EQUILIBRE THERMODYNAMIQUE SONT ETABLIES. LA COMPARAISON AVEC DES DONNEES EXPERIMENTALES MONTRE QUE LE MODELE EST CAPABLE DE PREDIRE AVEC PRECISION LE FONCTIONNEMENT D'UNE COLONNE D'EXTRACTION LIQUIDE-LIQUIDE. BIEN QUE L'ECRITURE DU MODELE SOIT TRES CENTREE SUR DES TRANSFERTS LIQUIDE-LIQUIDE, LA GENERALISATION A TOUT PROBLEME DIPHASIQUE PARAIT POSSIBLE

Book Synopsis Dynamic Simulation of a Liquid-liquid Extraction Column by : John Carlton Biery
Download or read book Dynamic Simulation of a Liquid-liquid Extraction Column written by John Carlton Biery and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The transient start-behavior of a pulsed liquid-liquid extraction column was investigated to develop methods for estimating the transient response and time to reach steady state. Various mathematical models describing the column behavior were proposed and the resulting response curves compared with the experimental column behavior. This study indicating that models based on assumptions of nonequilibrium and nonuniform mixing could be used to predict steady state times quite well, and that they could also represent the initial log period after start-up, if small subdivisions were used. The models appear to have definite utility in describing extraction columns in process control computer simulations of equipment systems."--Page [1].

Book Synopsis Advances in Solid State Fermentation by : S. Roussos
Download or read book Advances in Solid State Fermentation written by S. Roussos and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 641 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: G.HAINNAUX Departement Milieu et Activites Agricoles, Centre ORSTOM, 911 Avenue d' Agropolis, B.P. 5045, 34032 Montpellier Cedex , France. Solid state fermentation, popularly abbreviated as SSF, is currently investigated by many groups throughout the world. The study of this technique was largely neglected in the past in European and Western countries and there is now a high demand for SSF, meaning in food, environment, agricultural, phannaceutical and many other biotechnological applications. It gives me satisfaction to note that the importance of this technique was realised at my department way back in 1975 since then, our team has put concentrated efforts on developing this technique. xvii Foreword Advances in Solid State Fermentation Foreword M. PUYGRENIER Agropolis Valorisation, Avenue d' Agropolis, 34394 Montpellier Cedex 5, France. On the name of the Scientific Community, I would like to express the wish that this International Symposium on SSF should be successful. Solid State Fermentation is part of biotechnology research. It consists on seeding solid culture medium with bacteria or fungi (filamentous or higher) and on producing, in this medium (solid components and exudates) metabolites and high value products. In fact, this process is very old. In older industries such the food and agricultural, this technique has been extensively used. An example of this is the production of pork sausages and Roquefort cheese. Pharmaceutical industry could make extensive use of SSF in the production of secondary metabolites of many kinds and development in this direction is soon expected.
