Book excerpt: Are you fed up and are not going to take it anymore? Alright, read this book. Strong positive convictions have fallen out of favor, being replaced by expedient pop morality pieces that warp reality. Bluntly worded unpopular opinions critical of minorities, affirmative action, Israel, immigration, bi-lingualism and the current chief executive in Washington D.C. find their way into the trash bin. Immigration is the overwhelming emphasis of this collection of essays, musings, letters-to-the-editor, lists, book reviews, commentary, and authorized opinions. WARNING: Freedoms Denied is best read sober and while not operating motor vehicles or power tools. You are strongly advised to start at the beginning of the book. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Within the self dwells a vast congruence of structure, energy, and celestial matter that propels outward and stretches into the cosmos. Nature and the totality of its principles transcend time, space, and dimensional capacity. The infinite unity that governs all creation manifests itself through the cycle of life. The Truth within the Silence is a series of poems that reaffirm the vitality of cosmic interconnectedness, which ebbs and flows throughout memory, movement, and perpetual moments of the universe. Tranquility can be attained through silence, which yields not emptiness but space. The very space that represents matter, both tangible and intangible, becomes a conduit through which energy travels. The author draws us in with a rhythmic exchange of poetic affirmations that awaken the macrocosmic energy within the silence. Love is the message delivered, and each written word reminds us that the infinite consciousness offers continual balance. Once awakened to our magnificence the clouds of doubt are erased and the ultimate truth shines through.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A “well-crafted and careful rendering of an important and demanding volume” covering the philosopher’s views on language, life, and politics (Andrew Mitchell, Emory University). In these lectures, delivered in 1933-1934 while he was Rector of the University of Freiburg and an active supporter of the National Socialist regime, Martin Heidegger addresses the history of metaphysics and the notion of truth from Heraclitus to Hegel. First published in German in 2001, these two lecture courses offer a sustained encounter with Heidegger’s thinking during a period when he attempted to give expression to his highest ambitions for a philosophy engaged with politics and the world. While the lectures are strongly nationalistic, they also attack theories of racial supremacy in an attempt to stake out a distinctively Heideggerian understanding of what it means to be a people. This careful translation offers valuable insight into Heidegger’s views on language, truth, animality, and life, as well as his political thought and activity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Twenty years ago, not one nation on earth had legal same-sex marriage. Now, access to same-sex marriage is increasingly seen as a basic human right. In a matter of less than a generation, western cultures have experienced a moral revolution. Dr. R. Albert Mohler examines how this transformation occurred, revealing the underlying cultural shifts behind this revolution: the acceptance of divorce culture, liberation of sex from reproduction, the prevalence of heterosexual cohabitation, the normalization of homosexuality, and the rise of the transgender movement. He then offers a deep look at how the Bible and Christian moral tradition provide a comprehensive understanding upon which Christians can build their personal lives, their marriages, church ministry, and cultural engagement. Dr. Mohler helps Christians in their understanding of the underlying issues of this significant cultural shift and how to face the challenge of believing faithfully, living faithfully, and engaging the culture faithfully in light of this massive change.

Book excerpt: Just before Buddha died somebody asked him: When a buddha dies where does he go? Does he survive or simply disappear into nothingness? This is not a new question, it is one of the oldest, many times repeated and asked. Buddha is reported to have said: Just like a white cloud disappearing.... This very morning there were white clouds in the sky. Now they are there no more. Where have they gone? From where do they come? How do they evolve, and how do they dissolve again? A white cloud is a mystery, the coming, the going, the very being of it. That’s the first reason why I call my way The Way of the White Clouds.

The vision of truth is the moral wisdom of life’s existence. The footsteps of our journey walk us toward wisdom to take us deep into the world. Let There Be Wisdom In Truth is to honor all who have lost their lives to the COVID-19 pandemic. We live in the most uncertain of times. These poems speak for the nameless voices taken away from us, to be forever silenced by their unfortunate fate. The art of healing is the soul of wisdom. Let There Be Wisdom In Truth is our moral consciousness which binds us to humanity. The wisdom of poetry is the fragrance of love. Poetry is the light that burns in our soul to liberate us from our caged existence. My first book, Let There Be Light in Darkness opens our eyes to the great truth of Sufi poetry. The second book, Let There Be Wisdom In Truth, opens the mind to seek and search for meaning and purpose in our existence. The doors to wisdom are opened and truth enters as our most welcomed guest.

Then there is no question of there being any Gautam the Buddha, because there is no freedom at all. Book excerpt: Follow Andrew Klavan to a deeper, richer understanding of the words of Jesus. Andrew Klavan believed what he read in the Gospels, but he often struggled to understand what Jesus really meant. So he began a journey of wrestling with the beautiful and often strange words of Jesus. He learned Greek in order to read the Gospels in their original languages, and he vowed to set aside any preconceptions about what the Scriptures say. But it wasn't until he began exploring how some of history's greatest writers wrestled with the same issues we confront today--political upheaval, rejection of social norms, growing disbelief in God--that he found a new way of understanding what Jesus meant. In The Truth and Beauty, Klavan combines a decades-long writing career with a lifetime of reading to discover a fresh understanding of the Gospels. By reading the words of Jesus through the life and work of writers such as William Wordsworth and John Keats, Mary Shelley and Samuel Taylor Coleridge--the English romantics--Klavan discovered a way to encounter Jesus in a deeper and more profound way than ever before. For readers seeking to find renewed meaning in the words of Jesus--and for those who are striving for belief in a materialistic world--The Truth and Beauty offers an intimate account of one man's struggle to understand the Gospels in all their strangeness, and so find his way to a life that is, as he says, "the most creative, the most joyful, and surely the most true."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Truth and Norms: Normative Alethic Pluralism and Evaluative Disagreements engages three philosophical topics and the relationships among them. Filippo Ferrari first contributes to the debate on the nature and normative significance of disagreement, especially in relation to evaluative judgements such as judgements about basic taste, refined aesthetics, and moral matters. Second, he addresses the issue of epistemic normativity, focusing in particular on the normative function(s) that truth exerts on judgements. Third, he contributes to the debate on truth—more specifically, which account of the nature of truth best accommodates the norms relating judgements and truth. This book develops and defends a novel pluralistic picture of the normativity of truth: normative alethic pluralism (NAP). At the core of NAP is the idea that truth exerts different normative functions in relation to different areas of inquiry. Ferrari argues that this picture of the normativity of truth offers the best explanation of the variable normative significance that disagreement exhibits in relation to different subject matters—from a rather shallow normative impact in the case of disagreement about taste, to a normatively more substantive significance in relation to moral judgements. Last, Ferrari defends the view that NAP does not require a commitment to truth pluralism, since it is fully compatible with a somewhat refined version of minimalism about truth.
