Book Synopsis Divya Darshan by : Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun
Download or read book Divya Darshan written by Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2017-08-18 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: His holiness Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun, a saint from Odisha presented ‘Divya Darshan’ or the Philosophy Divine to the world in the year 1976. Born to a tribal family in the year 1933 in the hilly region of Rayagada District in Odisha and just a literate up to standard VIII, he got his enlightenment in the year 1967 and thereafter gave a very lucid and original elucidation of Truth, Consciousness, Creator and the Creation etc. He was working for Hindustan Aeronautics Limited at Sunabeda till he shed his mortal body in 1989. Divya Darshan is neither any community nor any creed, neither any bloc nor any sect. The ultimate goal of man is to become divine and realise divinity. Divya Darshan is therefore a way of life, a way to true and divine life. It belongs to none and at the same time belongs to everybody. He, who knows it, owns it. According to Divya Darshan, “Ignorance is the cause of sufferings. Ignorance breeds sins and sins cause sufferings. If you want to live, be dutiful. If you want peace and happiness, possess divine virtues. If you desire liberation, acquire self-knowledge. Love others if you yearn for good will; be truthful and humble if you want blessings; hold unto love if you want bliss; try to know your true self if you want liberation from all sufferings. God resides as all-pervasive, eternal and infinite Pure-consciousness. Possess divine qualities and realise Him to enjoy bliss. This is no life at all. To know Him who has infused life into this life is true life which is the goal of every one. To know the Law of Eternity is knowledge and observing the same is Dharma. Whatever faith or religion you may belong to, liberation is unattainable without self-knowledge. Man being absolutely divine, he should pursue divine knowledge and acquire divine virtues.” Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun asserts that even a person leading a worldly life can perform spiritual practice to realise one’s true self.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a real story of a school dropout tribal youth named Arjun who was professionally a carpenter working for Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a struggling householder far from sophistication of city life, but who, capitalising on his intrinsic inquisitiveness and divine virtues single-mindedly journeyed through the science route to the peak of spiritual realization, to become a spiritual master (Sadguru) at an early age of just 34 and revealed ‘Divya Darshan or The Philosophy Divine’ for the whole of humanity irrespective of caste, creed or religiosity. ‘Divya Darshan, The Philosophy Divine’, presents, for the self-benefit of mankind, the true knowledge based on non-dualistic principles in a simple style by which man can arouse the inert power within, blossom the latent divine virtues while observing the Law of Eternity for taking care of not only his own existence but ensuring happy and peaceful social living ultimately to get rid of the ignorance-generated sins and sufferings. “Ignorance is the cause of sufferings. Dispel ignorance by enkindling knowledge within and get rid of all sufferings. You alone can liberate yourself by acquiring true knowledge and divine virtues. Regain your lost paradise and enjoy peace and bliss. Remember; you are immortal and ever-free.”
Book Synopsis Sadhguru, More Than a Life by : Arundhathi Subramaniam
Download or read book Sadhguru, More Than a Life written by Arundhathi Subramaniam and published by Penguin Books India. This book was released on 2010 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘The thirst to be boundless is not created by you; it is just life longing for itself.’ —Sadhguru This is the extraordinary story of Sadhguru—a young agnostic who turned yogi, a wild motorcyclist who turned mystic, a sceptic who turned spiritual guide. Pulsating with his razor-sharp intelligence, bracing wit and modern-day vocabulary, the book empowers you to explore your spiritual self and could well change your life. It seeks to re-create the life journey of a man who combines rationality with mysticism, irreverence with compassion, ancient wisdom with a provocatively contemporary outlook and a deep knowledge of the self with a contagious love of life. Described as ‘a profound mystic, visionary humanitarian and prominent spiritual leader of our times', he is equally at home in a satsangh in rural Tamil Nadu as at the World Economic Forum in Davos. In his early years, Jaggi Vasudev (or Sadhguru as he is now known) was a chronic truant, a boisterous prankster, and later a lover of motorbikes and fast cars. It is evident that the same urgency, passion and vitality echo in his spiritual pursuits to this day, from his creation of the historic Dhyanalinga—the mission of three lifetimes—to his approach as a guru. In Sadhguru's view, faith and reason, spirituality and science, the sacred and the material, cannot be divided into easy binaries. He sees people as ‘spiritual beings dabbling with the material rather than the reverse’, and liberation as the fundamental longing in every form of life. Truth for him is a living experience instead of a destination, a conclusion, or a matter of metaphysical speculation. The possibility of self-realization, he strongly believes, is available to all. Drawing upon extended conversations with Sadhguru, interviews with Isha colleagues and fellow meditators, poet Arundhathi Subramaniam presents an evocative portrait of a contemporary mystic and guru—a man who seems to pack the intensity and adventure of several lifetimes into a single one.
Download or read book Adiyogi written by Sadhguru and published by HarperCollins Publishers India. This book was released on 2017-02-23 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Shiva does not spell religion. Shiva spells responsibility -- our ability to take our very life process in our hands.'' -- Sadhguru 'Shi-va' is 'that which is not', a primordial emptiness; Shiva is also the first-ever yogi, Adiyogi, the one who first perceived this emptiness. Adiyogi is symbol and myth, historic figure and living presence, creator and destroyer, outlaw and ascetic, cosmic dancer and passionate lover, all at once.A book like no other, this extraordinary document is a tribute to Shiva, the Adiyogi, by a living yogi; a chronicle of the progenitor of mysticism by a contemporary mystic. Here science and philosophy merge seamlessly, so do silence and sound, question and answer--to capture the unspeakable enigma of Adiyogi in a spellbinding wave of words and ideas that will leave one entranced, transformed.

Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Thought leader, visionary, philanthropist, mystic, and yogi Sadhguru presents Western readers with a time-tested path to achieving absolute well-being: the classical science of yoga. “A loving invitation to live our best lives and a profound reassurance of why and how we can.”—Sir Ken Robinson, author of The Element, Finding Your Element, and Out of Our Minds: Learning to Be Creative NAMED ONE OF THE TEN BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY SPIRITUALITY & HEALTH The practice of hatha yoga, as we commonly know it, is but one of eight branches of the body of knowledge that is yoga. In fact, yoga is a sophisticated system of self-empowerment that is capable of harnessing and activating inner energies in such a way that your body and mind function at their optimal capacity. It is a means to create inner situations exactly the way you want them, turning you into the architect of your own joy. A yogi lives life in this expansive state, and in this transformative book Sadhguru tells the story of his own awakening, from a boy with an unusual affinity for the natural world to a young daredevil who crossed the Indian continent on his motorcycle. He relates the moment of his enlightenment on a mountaintop in southern India, where time stood still and he emerged radically changed. Today, as the founder of Isha, an organization devoted to humanitarian causes, he lights the path for millions. The term guru, he notes, means “dispeller of darkness, someone who opens the door for you. . . . As a guru, I have no doctrine to teach, no philosophy to impart, no belief to propagate. And that is because the only solution for all the ills that plague humanity is self-transformation. Self-transformation means that nothing of the old remains. It is a dimensional shift in the way you perceive and experience life.” The wisdom distilled in this accessible, profound, and engaging book offers readers time-tested tools that are fresh, alive, and radiantly new. Inner Engineering presents a revolutionary way of thinking about our agency and our humanity and the opportunity to achieve nothing less than a life of joy.

Download or read book Shri Guru Gita written by Mark Griffin and published by Hard Light Publishing. This book was released on 2008-09-02 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The daily recitation of the Shri Guru Gita is one of the practices of the Hard Light Center of Awakening for one simple reason... as Mark Griffin says: "I am teaching you this about the Guru because I believe it's your best chance for Awakening in this lifetime". The Guru Gita is the core section of 352 sutras in the latter portion of the ancient Indian text known as the Skanda Purana. Gita means song, and indeed these sutras are a song in praise of the Guru, and in recognition of the power of contemplating the Guru's nature, especially through the vehicle of the repetition of these verses. Mark Griffin has selected 108 of these verses for the use of serious seekers - those who are sincerely interested in spiritual training. This fresh, original translation from the Sanskrit is specifically designed for the contemporary seeker. It's important to note that the recitation is in English, as Mark feels that the meaning of these sutras is most important. These 108 verses focus on the universal nature of the Guru. When the word Guru is used here, it is known to be more than an individual person. Rather, it is a universal principle, a catalyst for enlightenment like no other. It is referred to in the text as the Guru Tattva; tattva translating as principle. This 5.5" x 8.5" perfect-bound book is 174 pages, and contains the English verses in large print, so it is easy to read and recite. It also includes the Sanskrit Devanagari text, the Sanskrit transliteration, a guide how to pronounce the Sanskrit transliteration, Mark's full introduction and a in-depth 30 page glossary.
