Methodisch wurde eine ausführliche Literaturrecherche durchgeführt, um den aktuellen empirischen Forschungsstand darzustellen. Kinder mit sexuellen Missbrauchserfahrungen erleben auf jeder psychischen Ebene Auswirkungen: emotional , kognitiv und behavioral. Es können sich posttraumatische Belastungsstörungen als Folge zeigen. Jugendliche und Erwachsene mit sexuellen Missbrauchserfahrungen in der Kindheit tendieren zu Störungen im Sozial- und Sexualverhalten sowie zu Drogenmissbrauch und -abhängigkeit. Letztlich können sich diese Erfahrungen auch in psychosomatischen Erkrankungen äußern. Die psychischen Beeinträchtigungen der Opfer von sexuellem Missbrauch sind entsprechend weitreichend. Mit der vorliegenden Arbeit soll entsprechend eine genaue Begriffsklärung erfolgen und der aktuelle empirische Forschungsstand zu den psychischen Auswirkungen von sexuellem Missbrauch beleuchtet werden.

Zuletzt werden die Folgen des sexuellen Missbrauchs dargestellt und erläutert. Abschließend wird ein Fazit gezogen.
