Book excerpt: Seeing the World in a Different Color Thinking out of the BOX In fact, today we need distinguished people who create events, formulate sustainable strategies, set goals that can be achieved, and manage difficult situations with their advanced tools, and all of this will only come by changing our view of things and going out of the crucible of indoctrination to the spaciousness of innovation. Thinking outside the box is required from everyone today, and it is the basis and the effective solution to all management problems in its broad sense, and that is why we often hear about this term, and here some may ask about its meaning, and the meaning simply refers to the person’s exit from the box containing the issue, or the problem that he suffers and he has to stop his repeated attempts to solve it, also he has to face this situation as if he is not a party to this, for example, a person cannot assess the building’s paint from the outside while he is inside that building, because in this case he simply has cannot see what is outside. Thinking outside the box means your transformation from a routine person to an innovative person, and this will only come by re-educating yourself, accepting the idea of changing your thinking style, and learning some terms that will help you towards identifying what is meant by thinking outside the box, such as reformulating topics or solutions until you reach the optimal or most appropriate alternative, also try not to rely on one way of thinking, and learn what are the tools for self-development and the others for business development. What we are witnessing today is the diversity of organizations, business establishments, and companies, and the expansion of the size of their activities, with what we are experiencing today of a gigantic industrial and technological revolution that is rapidly modernizing and developing, especially regarding communication, and the transformation of doing business management digitally, all of this cast dark shadows on everyone who could not keep pace with this amazing development. This must push everyone towards getting out of the cocoon of confusion, and the limitations of the disability, and working to bridge the existing knowledge gap that is increasing day by day, as this comes through the development of special units for the management of informatics and knowledge that work around the clock to follow up the successive developments that impact the course of business. The facts in front of everyone today show that strategic management and strategic thinking have become topics of great interest in the business environment today, given what we see of intense competition in the markets, scarcity of resources, and the rapid emergence of changes locally and internationally, which requires the availability of conscious management that can make decisions which are consistent with the events or changes that affect each of the organizations, business institutions, and companies. Systems thinkers are characterized by some distinct basis that makes them always able to see and deal with things and situations in a different way, which most times may be unusual for other people.
