Book excerpt: How to unlock the secrets, enigmas, and mysteries of Ancient Egypt and other old civilizations I realized while I was researching Maat, the ancient goddess of justice, how hard it was for Egyptologists to understand most of the ancient Egyptian artifacts only with their conscious mind. Our modern mental structure bars us from entering and comprehending the logic of ancient peoples. The difference in understanding the world is why so many aspects of ancient cultures remain enigmatic and strange, even for the most intelligent modern scholars. The ancient people possessed a much better sense of the energies of life and nature than modern man does. These ancients explored the laws and properties of the intangible world and its action upon the material world. They gained valuable knowledge that has been preserved in their archeological remains as well as in their archaic legal systems. This type of knowledge was often rendered in symbolic dream-like language and images that modern scholars are not trained to understand. Moreover, even when this knowledge is rendered in remarkably clear language, how can one fully understand what one has never experienced? It is when we dream that we come closer to the mental universe of ancient peoples. While dreaming, modern man becomes like the ancients-aware and concerned about life-energy, a capacity modern man has now lost in his waking state. Through learning a unique technique to decipher their dreams, modern scholars would be enabled to understand more fully and perfectly how ancient people perceived the world around them differently. In this book, you will find an explanation of the technique I teach in my workshops, which is based on more than 20 years of personal research of ancient legal systems and the connections between dreams and reality. My approach is completely different from and much more practical than other techniques regarding dreams. This teaching would be of great help and benefit to all scholars and intelligent people who endeavor to advance our understanding of the ancient Egyptian civilization and of other ancient worlds. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the early ages occult knowledge was taught openly, as the sciences are taught in our colleges to-day. But in the course of time many allowed their selfishness to rule and so abused their power that it became necessary to withhold such knowledge from the unworthy. This was the condition of religious affairs when the Mysteries were necessarily established by the King-Priests of the Divine Dynasties, in the early days of Atlantis.-from "The Origin of the Mysteries"Though the author cannot, alas, "lift the veil from the secrets of the Order," 32nd-degree Freemason Charles H. Vail endeavors to lead the curious toward a more complete understanding of the ancient knowledge of the eternal truth of the universe of which the Masons are the keepers. From the great antiquity of Masonic symbols and traditions to the formation of the organization with their perpetuation as its goal, this 1909 book is an intriguing glimpse inside one of the most secretive fraternities in existence. It is required reading for those fascinated by arcane wisdom and secret societies.

Book excerpt: The I Ching Project was inaugurated in 1986 when the initial research on an ancient Tibetan Mandala revealed a trigram relationship with the I Ching, the Chinese book of changes. For the past 30 years the author has conducted a private research project, delving deeply into Tantric/Buddhist symbolism and the commentaries of the I Ching. The author’s research work has revealed and conclusively proves the existence of a lost civilisation, whose mathematical and scientific knowledge not only equalled but surpassed its Greek and Egyptian contemporaries. This book contains a series of commentaries, research notes and illustrations selected from the author’s amazing research work which will astonish practitioners, philosophers and scholars of the ancient art of divination. The author demonstrates and show that the scribes of this civilization retained their knowledge and wisdom for posterity within a computerized time capsule of pictographic images. His work proves that the I Ching is not only a book of divination but a profound book of mathematics and science. It also incorporates the original binary code, which can now be attributed to the ancient authors of the I Ching some 4000 years ago.

Book excerpt: The ancient wisdom of Hawai'i has been guarded for centuries -- handed down through lines of kinship to form the tradition of Huna. Dating back to the time before the first missionary presence arrived in the islands, the tradition of Huna is more than just a philosophy of living -- it is intertwined and deeply connected with every aspect of Hawaiian life. Blending ancient Hawaiian wisdom with modern practicality, Serge Kahili King imparts the philosophy behind the beliefs, history, and foundation of Huna. More important, King shows readers how to use Huna philosophy to attain both material and spiritual goals. To those who practice Huna, there is a deep understanding about the true nature of life -- and the real meaning of personal power, intention, and belief. Through exploring the seven core principles around which the practice revolves, King passes onto readers a timeless and powerful wisdom.

Book excerpt: In the Great Mystic Symbolic Tetragrammaton of the Ancient Masters we have one of their deepest secrets; the discovery of what the Masters called the Sacred Four Elements, as they found that these elements enter into the constitution of everything known. Earth, Water, Air, and Fire are the elements that produce every formation, every object, every organism. The Masters then invented an appropriate symbol to embrace the Sacred Four Elements. This symbol is known to us as the Sphinx, the image of which has been found in all the lands of the ancient world, and just as far back in the night of time as it is possible for us to go. Professor Hilton Hotema again raises compelling questions regarding our physical, spiritual, and mental reactions to these Sacred Four Elements.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the painstaking work of Pound scholars, the mythos of The Cantos has yet to be properly understood — primarily because until now its occult sources have not been examined sufficiently. Drawing upon archival as well as recently published material, this study traces Pound’s intimate engagement with specific occultists (W. B. Yeats, Allen Upward, Alfred Orage, and G. R. S. Mead) and their ideas. The author argues that speculative occultism was a major factor in the evolution of Pound’s extraordinary aesthetic and religious sensibility, much noticed in Pound criticism. The discussion falls into two sections. The first section details Pound’s interest in particular occult movements. It describes the tradition of Hellenistic occultism from Eleusis to the present, and establishes that Pound’s contact with the occult began at least as early as his undergraduate years and that he came to London already primed on the occult. Many of his London acquaintances were unquestionably occultists. The second section outlines a tripartite schema for The Cantos (katabasis/dromena/epopteia) which, in turn, is applied to the poem. It is argued here that The Cantos is structured on the model of a initiation rather than a journey, and that the poem does not so much describe an initiation rite as enact one for the reader. In exploring and attempting to understand Pounds’ occultism and its implications to his [Pounds’] oeuvre, Tryphonopoulos sheds new light upon one of the great works of modern Western literature.
