Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent preliminary results obtained by the CDF and D0 Collaborations on searches for Higgs bosons beyond the Standard Model at Run II of the Tevatron are discussed. The data, corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 1 fb−1, are compared to theoretical expectations. No significant excess of signal above the expected background is observed in any of the various final states examined, and so limits at 95% Confidence Level (CL) are presented.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With almost 0.5 fb{sup -1} of p{bar p}-collisions delivered in Tevatron Run II, both experiments CDF and D0 are reporting first results from a vast number of search analyses. This article summarizes the current status of Tevatron searches for Higgs bosons within the Standard Model and its extensions as well as direct searches for supersymmetric particles. Signatures for production of squarks, gluinos, charginos and neutralinos as predicted by gravity- and gauge-mediated SUSY breaking scenarios have been considered. No evidence for Higgs bosons or SUSY particles has been found so far. New limits are derived which significantly improve on existing limits.

Book excerpt: We have performed a search for neutral Higgs bosons produced in association with bottom quarks in p{bar p} collisions, using 260 pb−1 of data collected with the D0 detector in Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The cross sections for these processes are enhanced in many extensions of the standard model (SM), such as in its minimal supersymmetric extension at large tan?. The results of our analysis agree with expectations from the SM, and we use our measurements to set upper limits on the production of neutral Higgs bosons in the mass range of 90 to 150 GeV.

This book was released on 2010 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Data recorded by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider are analyzed to search for neutral Higgs bosons produced in association with b quarks. The search is performed in the three-b-quark channel using multijet-triggered events corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.2 fb−1. In the absence of any significant excess above background, limits are set on the cross section multiplied by the branching ratio in the Higgs boson mass range 90 to 300 GeV, extending the excluded regions in the parameter space of the minimal supersymmetric standard model.

Download or read book Discovering the Higgs Bosons of Minimal Supersymmetry with Tau Leptons and a Bottom Quark written by and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We investigate the prospects for the discovery at the CERN Large Hadron Collider or at the Fermilab Tevatron of neutral Higgs bosons through the channel where the Higgs are produced together with a single bottom quark and the Higgs decays into a pair of tau leptons, bg → b?° → b??−,?° = h°, H°, A°. We work within the framework of the minimal supersymmetric model. The dominant physics background from the production of b?+?−, j?+?− (j = g, u, d, s, c), b{bar b}W+W−, W +2j and Wbj is calculated with realistic acceptance cuts and efficiencies. Promising results are found for the CP-odd pseudoscalar (A°) and the heavier CP-even scalar (H°) Higgs bosons with masses up to one TeV.

Download or read book Search for Neutral Higgs Bosons Decaying to Tau Pairs in P Anti-p Collisions at S**(1/2) written by and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A search for the production of neutral Higgs bosons ? decaying into ?+?− final states in p{bar p} collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV is presented. The data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 325 pb−1, were collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Since no excess compared to the expectation from standard model processes is found, limits on the production cross section times branching ratio are set. The results are combined with those obtained from the D0 search for ?b({bar b}) → b{bar b}b({bar b}) and are interpreted in the minimal supersymmetric standard model.

Book excerpt: We report results of searches for neutral supersymmetric Higgs Bosons in up to 2.7 fb−1 of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The final states include muons, taus, and jets from the decay of b hadrons. The searches observe no significant excess and set upper limits on neutral Higgs production cross sections. The limits are also translated into exclusions of MSSM parameter space.
Book Synopsis Beyond the Standard Model Higgs Boson Searches at the Tevatron by :
Download or read book Beyond the Standard Model Higgs Boson Searches at the Tevatron written by and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The search for the Higgs boson is one of the main goals in High Energy Physics and one of the highest priorities at Run II of the Tevatron. There are many alternative Higgs boson models beyond the SM, including Supersymmetry (SUSY) and Fermiophobic Higgs bosons, which can actively be probed at the Tevatron, and in the absence of an excess constrained. The latest limits for several SUSY searches are presented in Section 2 and for the Fermiophobic Higgs boson searches in Section 3. More information on all these searches, along with the latest results, can be found on the CDF and D0 public results webpages. Results are presented for beyond the Standard Model Higgs boson searches using up to 4.2 fb−1 of data from Run II at the Tevatron. No significant excess is observed in any of the channels so 95% confidence level limits are presented.

Large data sets accumulated by the CDF and D{O} experiments break new grounds in sensitivity. We review recent Tevatron results on searches for Higgs bosons in Minimal Supersymmetric Model in the multi b-jet and [tau][tau] final states, as well as a search for fermiophobic Higgs in the multiphoton final state.
Book Synopsis A Search for the Neutral Higgs Bosons of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with the ATLAS Detector at the Large Hadron Collider by : John Stakely Keller

This book was released on 2013 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A search for the neutral Higgs bosons of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), produced in proton-proton collisions recorded by the ATLAS detector, is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb−1, with a center of mass energy of 8 TeV. The search focuses on final states where the Higgs bosons decay into a [tau]+[tau]− pair, with one [tau] lepton decaying leptonically and the other hadronically. Two analyses are performed which separately target low-mass and high-mass Higgs bosons, with the former divided into two sub-channels based on the presence or absence of a b-jet in final state. No evidence of new Higgs bosons is found, and upper limits are set on the cross-section times branching ratio of such Higgs bosons, and on the MSSM parameters m [Alpha] and tan [Beta].

Download or read book D0 Search for the Higgs Boson in Multijet Events written by Alex Melnitchouk and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 3 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present two searches for the Higgs boson in {radical}s = 1.96 TeV p{bar p} collisions using data taken with the D0 detector during Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The first study is a search for neutral Higgs bosons produced in association with bottom quarks. The cross sections for these processes are enhanced in many extensions of the standard model (SM), such as in its minimal supersymmetric extension at large tan {beta}. The results of our analysis agree with expectations from the SM, and we use our measurements to set upper limits on the production of neutral Higgs bosons in the mass range of 90 to 150 GeV. The second study is a search for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with the Z boson. We study the p{bar p} {yields} ZH {yields} {nu}{bar {nu}}b{bar b} channel, which is one of the most sensitive ways to search for light Higgs bosons at the Tevatron. We select multijet events with large imbalance in transverse momentum and two b-tagged jets. Then we search for a peak in invariant mass distribution of two b-tagged jets. After subtracting the backgrounds, we set the 95% C.L. upper limits on the {sigma}(p{bar p} {yields} ZH {yields} {nu}{bar {nu}}) x BR(H {yields} b{bar b}) for Higgs masses between 105 and 135 GeV.
Book Synopsis Non-standard Model Higgs Searches at the Tevatron by : A. Hocker
Download or read book Non-standard Model Higgs Searches at the Tevatron written by A. Hocker and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The CDF and D0 experiments at Fermilab's Tevatron have been actively searching for the Higgs bosons that appear in extensions of the minimal standard model. Here we present the results of searches for the neutral and charged Higgs bosons of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, as well as searches for doubly charged Higgs bosons that are predicted by other types of extensions. Up to 900 pb{sup -1} of Run 2 data have been analyzed and have provided no signs of Higgs boson production; these null results are used to set limits on Higgs production scenarios within the context of particular models.
