Book Synopsis Gender in Learning and Teaching by : Carol A. Taylor
Download or read book Gender in Learning and Teaching written by Carol A. Taylor and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-04-26 with total page 203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gender in Learning and Teaching brings together leading gender and feminist scholars to provide a unique collection of international research into learning and teaching. Through dialogues across national traditions and boundaries, the authors provide new insights into the relations between feminist scholarship of pedagogy, gender and didactics, and offer in-depth accounts that critically investigate how gender relations are enacted, contested and analysed at the level of the classroom, the curriculum, and the institution. Drawing on original research, the chapters explore gender dynamics in relation to student-teacher interactions, gendered classroom practices, curriculum content and knowledge formation in different subjects. The book includes accounts of innovative approaches to curriculum development to address gender inequality. It includes new theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches which provide fresh insights into gendered practices including intersectionality, new material feminism, epistemic gender positioning and cultural anthropology. The chapters span all education phases from early years to higher education. This book makes a compelling case for the continuing relevance of feminist pedagogy and the urgent need for strategies to address gender inequalities in the classroom and beyond. It will be of great interest to academics and postgraduate students in the fields of theory, philosophy and feminist politics of learning and teaching; education and didactics; feminism and pedagogy; sociology and the arts.

Download or read book RST 12 written by Académie des sciences, and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2000 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 1991-06-14 with total page 1154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The "European Yearbook" has expanded over the years in keeping with the role played by European institutions compared with national ones. It is an indispensable work of reference for anyone dealing with these institutions, which have become so numerous and varied that no-one can possibly memorise all their acronyms or functions. The "European Yearbook" provides aids for finding one's way through the labyrinth of these organisations which coordinate a variety of activities in over 20 countries. One of the aids is an 'organisation chart' at the beginning of the documentary section, giving a clear picture of the general situation. A perusal of the many contributions in the volume organisation by organisation, shows the full diversity of the activities which Europe is gradually taking over from national governments, with their consent and financial support. Written in both of the Council of Europe's official languages, English and French, the "European Yearbook" also contains a general index by subject and name which constitutes a very valuable list of articles and provides direct access to the work's subject matter, regardless of the particular organisation concerned, offering a kind of cross-section of the activities of European organisations.

Book Synopsis Vidéo-surveillance et détection automatique des comportements anormaux by : Jean-Jacques Lavenue
Download or read book Vidéo-surveillance et détection automatique des comportements anormaux written by Jean-Jacques Lavenue and published by Presses Univ. Septentrion. This book was released on 2011-06-10 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Positioning Technology Education in the Curriculum by : Marc J. de Vries
Download or read book Positioning Technology Education in the Curriculum written by Marc J. de Vries and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-01-01 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The position of technology education in the school curriculum is a topic of continuous discussions. This book offers a number of research-based contributions to that discussion. A number of aspects have been identified that are related to the way technology education can be embedded in the curriculum: The historical development of the subject, its disciplinary character, its relation to other parts of the curriculum, and in particular with science and language education, the relation between the formal school curriculum and informal learning, forms of progression over the grades, and its contribution to citizenship, forms of literacy and ethics. The final chapter deals with specific issues for developing countries. The book can support decision making on the curriculum and the development of technology education as a part of that by providing theoretical and empirical insights on this topic.

Book Synopsis Numerical Simulation, An Art of Prediction, Volume 2 by : Jean-François Sigrist
Download or read book Numerical Simulation, An Art of Prediction, Volume 2 written by Jean-François Sigrist and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2020-01-08 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Numerical simulation is a technique of major importance in various technical and scientific fields. Whilst engineering curricula now include training courses dedicated to it, numerical simulation is still not well-known in some economic sectors, and even less so among the general public. Simulation involves the mathematical modeling of the real world, coupled with the computing power offered by modern technology. Designed to perform virtual experiments, digital simulation can be considered as an "art of prediction". Embellished with a rich iconography and based on the testimony of researchers and engineers, this book shines a light on this little-known art. It is the second of two volumes and gives examples of the uses of numerical simulation in various scientific and technical fields: agriculture, industry, Earth and universe sciences, meteorology and climate studies, energy, biomechanics and human and social sciences.
