This book was released on 2010-03-10 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recon?gurable computing (RC) systems have generated considerable interest in the embedded and high-performance computing communities over the past two decades, with ?eld programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) as the leading techn- ogy at the helm of innovation in this discipline. Achieving orders of magnitude performance and power improvements using FPGAs over traditional microp- cessorsis not uncommon for well-suitedapplications. But even with two decades of research and technological advances, FPGA design still presents a subst- tial challenge and often necessitates hardware design expertise to exploit its true potential. Although the challenges to address the design productivity - sues are steep, the promise and the potential of the RC technology in terms of performance, power, size, and versatility continue to attract application design engineers and RC researchers alike. The International Symposium on Applied Recon?gurable Computing (ARC) aims to bring together researchers and practitioners of RC systems with an emphasis on practical applications and design methodologies of this promising technology. This year’s ARC symposium (The sixth ARC symposium) was held in Bangkok, Thailand during March 17–19, 2010, and attracted papers in three primary focus areas:RC applications, RC architectures, and RC design meth- ologies.

Download or read book VLSI-SOC: From Systems to Chips written by Manfred Glesner and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-08-16 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains extended and revised versions of the best papers that have been presented during the twelfth edition of the IFIP TC10/WG10.5 International Conference on Very Large Scale Integration, a Global System-on-a-Chip Design & CAD Conference. The 12* edition was held at the Lufthansa Training Center in Seeheim-Jugenheim, south of Darmstadt, Germany (December 1-3, 2003). Previous conferences have taken place in Edinburgh (81), Trondheim (83), Tokyo (85), Vancouver (87), Munich (89), Edinburgh (91), Grenoble (93), Tokyo (95), Gramado (97), Lisbon (99)andMontpellier(01). The purpose of this conference, sponsored by IFIP TC 10 Working Group 10.5, is to provide a forum to exchange ideas and show research results in the field of microelectronics design. The current trend toward increasing chip integration brings about exhilarating new challenges both at the physical and system-design levels: this conference aims to address these exciting new issues. The 2003 edition of VLSI-SoC conserved the traditional structure, which has been successful in previous editions. The quality of submissions (142 papers) made the selection process difficult, but finally 57 papers and 14 posters were accepted for presentation in VLSI-SoC 2003. Submissions came from Austria, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the United States of America. From 57 papers presented at the conference, 18 were selected to have an extended and revised version included in this book.

Book Synopsis Advances on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing by : Fatos Xhafa
Download or read book Advances on P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud and Internet Computing written by Fatos Xhafa and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-10-16 with total page 533 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the latest research findings, as well as innovative theoretical and practical research results, methods and development techniques related to P2P, grid, cloud and Internet computing. It also reveals the synergies among such large scale computing paradigms. P2P, Grid, Cloud and Internet computing technologies have rapidly become established as breakthrough paradigms for solving complex problems by enabling aggregation and sharing of an increasing variety of distributed computational resources on a large scale. Grid computing originated as a paradigm for high-performance computing, offering an alternative to expensive supercomputers through different forms of large-scale distributed computing. P2P computing emerged as a new paradigm following on from client-server and web-based computing and has proved useful in the development of social networking, B2B (Business to Business), B2C (Business to Consumer), B2G (Business to Government), and B2E (Business to Employee). Cloud computing has been described as a “computing paradigm where the boundaries of computing are determined by economic rationale rather than technical limits”. Cloud computing has fast become the computing paradigm with applicability and adoption in all domains and providing utility computing at large scale. Lastly, Internet computing is the basis of any large-scale distributed computing paradigm; it has very quickly developed into a vast and flourishing field with enormous impact on today’s information societies and serving as a universal platform comprising a large variety of computing forms such as grid, P2P, cloud and mobile computing.
