This book was released on 2002 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Funcoes de resposta do feijoeiro (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) ao uso de nitrogenio e lamina de irrigacao written by J. A. Frizzone and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Presidents and Terminal Logic Behavior by : Genevieve M. Kehoe
Download or read book Presidents and Terminal Logic Behavior written by Genevieve M. Kehoe and published by Texas A&M University Press. This book was released on 2014-05-06 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presidents of nations with constitutionally imposed term limits are often viewed as growing weaker as they approach the end of their time in office. However, in this important new study, political scientist Genevieve M. Kehoe argues that because such chief executives are free from reelection constraint and often still enthusiastic to create a legacy by pursuing bold projects, they may accomplish significant initiatives. Kehoe has developed a concept for this which she calls “Terminal Logic Behavior” (TLB). Presidents and Terminal Logic Behavior: Term Limits and Executive Action in the United States, Brazil, and Argentina provides both case studies and quantitative evidence to show how US presidents of the last three decades have utilized decrees on foreign, domestic, and environment policy during their final months in office. She finds a systematic pattern of decree use consistent with the mark of TLB in a most unexpected place—presidents’ use of national emergency powers. In a careful comparative analysis, she also finds support for her argument in the Argentinean and Brazilian experience of the same period.

Book Synopsis Crop Adaptation to Climate Change by : Shyam Singh Yadav
Download or read book Crop Adaptation to Climate Change written by Shyam Singh Yadav and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-08-02 with total page 630 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A major task of our time is to ensure adequate food supplies for the world's current population (now nearing 7 billion) in a sustainable way while protecting the vital functions and biological diversity of the global environment. The task of providing for a growing population is likely to be even more difficult in view of actual and potential changes in climatic conditions due to global warming, and as the population continues to grow. Current projections suggest that the world's temperatures will rise 1.8-4.0 by 2100 and population may reach 8 billion by the year 2025 and some 9 billion by mid-century, after which it may stabilize. This book addresses these critical issues by presenting the science needed not only to understand climate change effects on crops but also to adapt current agricultural systems, particularly in regard to genetics, to the changing conditions. Crop Adaptation to Climate Change covers a spectrum of issues related to both crops and climatic conditions. The first two sections provide a foundation on the factors involved in climate stress, assessing current climate change by region and covering crop physiological responses to these changes. The third and final section contains chapters focused on specific crops and the current research to improve their genetic adaptation to climate change. Written by an international team of authors, Crop Adaptation to Climate Change is a timely look at the potentially serious consequences of climate change for our global food supply, and is an essential resource for academics, researchers and professionals in the fields of crop science, agronomy, plant physiology and molecular biology; crop consultants and breeders; as well as climate and food scientists.

Book Synopsis Water Stress in Plants by : Ismail M. M. Rahman
Download or read book Water Stress in Plants written by Ismail M. M. Rahman and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2016-08-24 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Water stress in plants is caused by the water deficit, as induced possibly by drought or high soil salinity. The prime consequence of water stress in plants is the disruption in the agricultural production, resulting in food shortage. The plants, however, try to adapt to the stress conditions using biochemical and physiological interventions. The edited compilation is an attempt to provide new insights into the mechanism and adaptation aspects of water stress in plants through a thoughtful mixture of viewpoints. We hope that the content of the book will be useful for the researchers working with the plant diversity-related environmental aspects and also provide suggestions for the strategists.
