Download or read book REPP written by R. M. Hiatt and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: REPP, a digital computer method for designing pressure water and boiling water reactor cores within specified heat transfer and fuel centerline temperature limits is presented. The method incorporates the Westinghouse W-2 and W-3 empirical correlations and a theoretical hot channel model to predict burnout conditions in a rod bundle. Two geometries are considered; rods in a triangular array and rods in a square lattice. The heat transfer problem solved is a one-dimensional analysis. Pressure drop is considered for four types of fuel-pin spacers. Variable heat generation rate through the fuel-pin and sintering in low density fuels are also included.

Download or read book Dreams and Jealousy written by Dan Lewin and published by . This book was released on 2017-09-11 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A unique memoir with gripping stories and an amazingly smooth read, there is plenty to be learned from these pages. Merchant. Prisoner. Smuggler. Spy. Survivor. Immigrant. Speaker. In his 90-some years, Jack Repp has been all of these and more. The lessons he hopes to impart in this collection of his stories are rooted in the teachings of his father, whose example always inspired him. "We never cried," says Jack Repp, talking about his survival strategies in Nazi death camps. He and two fellow prisoners made a pact to help one another stay strong by focusing on good memories and the hope of the war's end. And after he was liberated and recruited by U.S. intelligence agents to help track down his captors, after he built a business in post-war Munich, then arrived to Greenville, Texas, and began again, he chose once more to focus on the hope of a better life. For decades, Jack kept quiet about his past as a Holocaust survivor. Now, for the first time, he's put his journey into a book. "I consider telling my story part of my purpose-to make sure that others remember," he says. Dreams and Jealousy aims to convey more than merely the history of man's inhumanity to others. Jack shares the mindset that helped keep him alive, the struggles and strength needed to start over in a new land and to stand, in his own way, against the racism that underlaid the mid-century years in the USA. Jack's tales are heartbreaking and horrifying, honest and gritty, sometimes humorous and even exalting-but they are also a reminder of resilience and the lifelong determination to define himself rather than letting others dictate who he must be.
Download or read book Power Play written by F. Ethan Repp and published by First Edition Design Pub.. This book was released on 2014-01-15 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Politics is a mean spirited business. Power Play allows the reader to be in the room where this character driven novel is graphically experienced. History repeats itself. Questionable Police tactics didn't begin in 2014. The awareness and threats caused by aggressive police actions have recently changed but they’re not without precedent. A City Manager has the inside story. Read Power Play, a story set in the 1970’s when blind trust was too often the case. Deceit, revenge, militaristic police, affected legal system and gay tragedy. The end of the Hoover era, amidst the death throes of the Nixon debacle. The author has captured an era, depicting a battle for the soul of the Republic, at the local level. Young, handsome, charming Collier Winthrop is enticed by a crusty old Political Boss, Al Caso, to seek Public Office. Collie soon faces an unscrupulous adversary practiced in deceit; manipulated state investigative agencies and a contaminated police department. Events unfold that uncover a sordid police mentality, unveil the civil rights of the Flower Children violated, ruin reputations and threaten the very lives of Collie's confederates. How can Collie unravel plots unseen and unimaginable, to survive even the earliest months of his political enterprise. The work portrays the depth and conflict of personalities. Politics is a business of expediency. Otherwise decent people justify immoral behavior in defense of careers.
