He was educated in Colorado and came to the Department in 1909 as a taxonomist. In 1923 he was placed in charge of the new Divis1on of Insect Identification of the Bureau.of Ento mology, and in 1927 was assigned to general administrative duties. When.plant Quarantine and Control Administration was created in 1928 he was appointed assistant chief of that Bureau. In 1933 Mr. Bohwer was transferred to the Bureau of Entomology as assistant chief and continued as such when the Bureau of Entomology and Plant Quarantine was created in 193a.
