Book Synopsis Speaking to the Soul by : Vicki K. Black
Download or read book Speaking to the Soul written by Vicki K. Black and published by Church Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2009-09 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The flourishing website EpiscopalCafe.org produced by the Diocese of Washington attracts several thousand visitors a day. Its popular column “Speaking to the Soul,” which contains a concise, well-developed spiritual reflection for every day of the year, draws from many different sources, including scripture, church history, saints’ biographies, books of prayers, liturgies, and ancient and contemporary theologians and spiritual writers. This daily reader grew out of that column. It follows the Episcopal Church’s liturgical seasons and includes observation of major feast days as well as saints’ days. The reading for a particular saint’s day might be taken from the saint’s writings, prayers, or biography, or might develop a theme such as martyrdom or growth in the spirit. Other readings focus on particular emphases of the seasons (the Incarnation during Advent and Christmas; spiritual disciplines during Lent); or speak more generally to the Christian life (prayer, discipleship, ministry, the sacraments, conflict and reconciliation, and so on). Readings are taken from every century of the church’s life, with particular attention to how the writings and experiences of earlier Christians can shed light on the difficulties, joys, and concerns of the church today. Excerpts are long enough to give a satisfying and complete context of the writer’s intended meaning.

However, He reminded me all the Visions He blessed me for over 25 years of intimate relationship with Him; I realized that this was the very purpose of my existence. Therefore, I switched gear from oncology nurse and mother roles to my number one job, as a "Servant of God." My responsibility to God is to prepare the way for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have to announce to the entire world that Jesus is coming in this generation and we will see Him with our own eyes. This book will serve as the last trumpet call from "The Almighty God." "Father God, I put your treasures (visions/dreams) together as You commanded me, I hope You will like it because this is my gift for You this coming Father's Day. Happy Father's Day God, and I love You."

Book excerpt: NEW 2012 UPDATED VERSION - Pranic Nourishment, also called Living on Light, is Jasmuheen's fourth book of metaphysical interest. It is a fascinating story of her personal journey into being physically sustained purely by Light. It also touches on physical immortality, spirituality and sexuality, new millennium relationships and mind mastery utilizing the powerful programming of Dimensional Biofield Science. Pioneering new yet ancient pathways, many are now exploring the option of neither being a meat eater, a vegetarian, a vegan, a fruitarian but rather a 'liquidarian' or an individual sustained and nourished purely by the Light of their own Divine nature. Formerly a 'state of being' reserved for, or attributed to, the Holy men, Saints or Sages of the East; the process described in this text offers a practical and spiritual alternative for those wishing to practically begin to embrace physical immortality, cease the aging process or simply 'live on Light'.

Download or read book Gestures of God written by Geoffrey Rowell and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2004-06-22 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This important new collection of essays on a topic of vital importance is by a group of scholars from ten countries, from a wide range of Christian traditions, East and West, and from various academic disciplines. What has happened to sacramentality in an age which is on the one hand visual and on the other culturally cast adrift from the traditional symbolic universe in which sacramental theology was naturally at home? This book is not just confined to a discussion of Eucharistic theology. It examines both the historical roots of sacramentality, the concept of a sacral person, ways in which sacramentality may be re-envisioned and the flourishing roday of churches of a largely non-sacramental style in an age which is increasingly visual rather than verbal. The vital importance of the subject of this book is confirmed by the distinction of the contributors—David Brown (Professor of Theology at Durham University), Timothy Jenkins (Cambridge), Bishop Geoffrey Rowell (Oxford), Jeremy Begbie (St. Andrews and Cambridge), Ann Loades (Durham), David N. Power (Catholic University of America), Sven-Erik Brodd (Uppsala), Peter Bouteneff (St. Vladimir's Seminary, New York) and Susan A. Ross (Loyola University, Chicago).

Book excerpt: Discover the untold story of Hak Ja Han Moon, the North Korean village girl who is now known to millions as the Mother of Peace. Her heart-wrenching story reveals details of a war-torn childhood and trials of faith as she and her late husband, Rev. Sun Myung Moon, built a vast and still-growing international movement capable of fulfilling God's will for peace in the 21st century.A major milestone of her life, described in never-told-before detail, was her marriage in 1960, at age 17, to the charismatic Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon. For the next 52 years, she joined him in the daunting task of building a global interfaith movement to fulfill God's will for peace in the 21st century.Mother Moon's journey as a religious woman leader is breathtaking: Born in Japanese-occupied Korea in 1943, she spent her early life in nature so she could commune with God. War forced her to flee south with her mother and grandmother; they crossed the Han River Bridge minutes before it was blown up. Later, she walked and worked side-by-side with Father Moon, one of history's most energetic and visionary men. They visited every corner of the earth and, despite relentless persecution, met with world leaders, including Mikhail Gorbachev and Kim Il Sung, to bring God's message for them.During this time, she bore 14 children and buried four. She stood with Father Moon for hours as they officiated at Marriage Blessing Ceremonies for hundreds of thousands of couples. Together, they launched hundreds of organizations and businesses to serve youth, family and peacemaking.Since Father Moon's passing in 2012, Mother Moon has shouldered the leadership of their still-growing movement. She has led "Peace Starts With Me" rallies in six continents and plans to bring Blessing Ceremonies to all people.
