Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Rationalising the Bible" is a collection of volumes that cover the books of the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible. Written by mostly unidentified authors, the Bible is generally attributed with being the moral compass of the world of Judeo-Christian religious adherents. In fact, the Bible is mostly mythological history, inaccurate science, exaggerated reports of violence and discrimination against the people who settled the Fertile Crescent, and a set of laws plagiarised from those already in existence in the area. Even the writing of it, claimed to be that of the patriarchs, can clearly be identified, in the reading of it, as belonging rather to a period when all people in the civilised world were writing their stories. It was not written, as atheists often charge, by illiterate nomadic tribespeople in pre-history. Instead, it was written by politicians and priests at a time when the western civilisations were making their mark on the world's politics.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Toronto Blessing (TB) was planned by charismatic leaders who saw their movement dwindling in numbers. Though planned, it became obvious that Satan took it over and the effects hit the churches worldwide like a runaway truck! It only lasted about two years, but its destructive force is still with us in the now mainstream charismatic movement. Many churches that allowed the TB through its doors thought it would save their existence and save souls, but it did not. Churches hit in the face by the vile movement were ruined, deceived and far from God. Thousands of individual Christians were shattered. The various manifestations were accepted and called as 'from God' though they were so blatantly satanic and wicked. When the storm passed, many churches were shamed into pretending it never happened, but they did not repent or publicly disown the movement. This book and others in the series MUST warn churches of a similar movement if it arises (which it will). Its history MUST be told.

Book excerpt: Open a Bible and put your finger down on any verse selected at random. In all likelihood, whatever translation you're using will quite reasonably convey the intent of the original language. Of the English Bible's 31,102 verses, relatively few lend themselves to meaningful misinterpretation and of these even fewer actually differ. For the average churchgoer, a discussion of Bible versions often goes no further than this. Why, it's asked, if they are all more or less the same, should we risk introducing divisiveness into the congregation by insisting on using one created over 400 years ago when many people today have trouble reading it? In short, what makes the King James Bible special?Fitly Spoken attempts to answer this question. Opinions from Medieval Jewish commentators such as Radak, Ibn Ezra and Rashi, as well as Reformation Era and pre-modern Christian exegetes are examined to reveal over 1,000 Old and New Testament verses testifying to the King James' translators surpassing understanding of the ancient texts - and understanding often subtly expressed but missing from contemporary versions.

Book excerpt: In October, 2019, I began having the thought to re-read the Old Testament. This thought, which I believe to have been from the Holy Spirit, came to me several times over the next few weeks . So I began reading the Old Testament again, not thinking in terms of exhorting the church but just thinking in terms of working with myself. When I got into reading it, I would see things and think.. "Well I should write that," to our church group and on our blog ... so I did. At some point I realized I needed to go into depth on these Old Testament passages writing them for all the church. (We put these writings on our blog, Jesus Ministries Exhortations ... and then later set them in book form with multiple volumes since there are so many excellent examples in the Old Testament for us to consider today.) As I published these writings on blog, I began thinking of how really bad things are in the church world today and how distorted their image of God has become and I felt like these Old Testament passages, for those of us who could read it, would put some realism into our image of God that is shown in the Bible. For it has disturbed me greatly for many years that the current church displays God in their own image. I have often heard them say, "Oh. my God would never do that!" ... and I have shuddered. I became very interested in writing about the Old Testament and comparing it to the New Testament. The Old Testament is where God started with me after I was born again in 1975, to show me the work of a prophet, and to show me respect for what HE tells me, and to show me, in a vivid way, how I needed to really obey what I heard from Him We live, of course, by the New Testament but the Old Testament presents a deep image of God and how HE really views things. But I am reminded of that which the apostle Paul said: "Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men." II Corinthians 6:11 I believe these books show an image of God that might turn some in the churches to God before the great tribulation from God which deals with the sins of this present world. For most surely the wrath of God is coming upon the sins of today as displayed before our eyes. The only thing important for us, the church, is to structure ourselves through the view God gives of situations of this present life. Joan Boney

Who decided which books were to be included? What about the books which were left out? How have archaeological discoveries affected the Bible? These forthright questions—and scores more—are clearly and concisely answered in How We Got Our Bible. W. Graham Scroggie has said that "the reading of Dr. Thomas' books creates in one a deeper love of and desire for God as revealed in His Word," and this is strikingly ture of this clear and satisfiying marshaling of evidence as to what the Bible is. In twelve fact-packed chapters, Dr. Thomas ably discusses the structure and history, canonicity, authority, trustworthiness, unity, progressiveness, inspiration, interpretation and purpose of the Bible. Questions conclude each chapter, giving How We Got Our Bible a wide range of usefulness.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God has set the stage for our life story to be acted out on and with the gift of a free will, it’s up to each of us to decide what role we want to play; wilderness wanderers as the Israelites of ancient times, so close to the Promised Land yet not permitted to enter; or a believer in God’s eternal promises fulfilled in Christ. There are only two options. God does have a plan for humanity; he has set forth a calendar, established a timetable; and we all live along that timetable, somewhere from its beginning, to the end of all human rule on Earth. He needs each of us to start again spiritually, to become willing participants in the inward transformation of our disposition, ready for the day to come. Becoming a Christian is easy. Maintaining the claim that Christ lives in you will be the most challenging, life-changing experience. How do we change our inner self to take on Christlikeness? How do we react in times when our faith is put to the test; - times of unknowables, those things sometimes beyond the limits of human experience or understanding? The primary purpose of this book is to introduce the real God, because if we seek a relationship with him, we must think of it in terms of a valuable human relationship. There needs to be a degree of attractiveness; we need to share similar values as God possesses to even begin to flourish and grow.
