The WWII theme was chosen because the Craneway Pavilion is located next to the Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park. The special exhibit was a huge success. People gathered three-deep to admire the quilts and reminisce over the stories. We noted a continuing interest in our little collection, so we did two things: We issued a second challenge, and we "took the show on the road." The original show included 30 quilts. We added 15 with the second challenge which broadened the subjects depicted [...] This little project grew and grew. The response has been tremendous.
