Book excerpt: In recent years quaternary codes have attracted the attention of the coding community as several notorious binary nonlinear codes containing more codewords than any known linear codes were found to be binary images under the Gray map of linear codes over Z 4 This discovery opens the way for a broader study of quaternary codes, which constitute a rapidly growing area of coding theory. This book is based on the author's lectures in Xi'an, China and Lurid, Sweden and covets the most recent developments of this theory.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is gratifying that this textbook is still sufficiently popular to warrant a third edition. I have used the opportunity to improve and enlarge the book. When the second edition was prepared, only two pages on algebraic geometry codes were added. These have now been removed and replaced by a relatively long chapter on this subject. Although it is still only an introduction, the chapter requires more mathematical background of the reader than the remainder of this book. One of the very interesting recent developments concerns binary codes defined by using codes over the alphabet 7l.4• There is so much interest in this area that a chapter on the essentials was added. Knowledge of this chapter will allow the reader to study recent literature on 7l. -codes. 4 Furthermore, some material has been added that appeared in my Springer Lec ture Notes 201, but was not included in earlier editions of this book, e. g. Generalized Reed-Solomon Codes and Generalized Reed-Muller Codes. In Chapter 2, a section on "Coding Gain" ( the engineer's justification for using error-correcting codes) was added. For the author, preparing this third edition was a most welcome return to mathematics after seven years of administration. For valuable discussions on the new material, I thank C.P.l.M.Baggen, I. M.Duursma, H.D.L.Hollmann, H. C. A. van Tilborg, and R. M. Wilson. A special word of thanks to R. A. Pellikaan for his assistance with Chapter 10.

Book excerpt: Researchers may find themselves confronted with proteases, either because they play an essential role in a particular process they are studying, or because they interfere with that process. In either case they may need to investigate or inhibit the proteolytic activity. Others may wish to use proteolytic enzymes as laboratory tools. This book has been written with these investigators in mind and includes assay methods using natural and artificial substrates, genetic-based assays, and strategies for the inhibition, purification and crystallization of proteases. In selected chapters the use of proteolytic enzymes to analyze proteins, segregate cells or in peptide synthesis is covered.

Book excerpt: The theory developed for Z2Z4-additive codes is the starting point for much generalization about codes over mixed alphabets. They have opened a new, emergent area of research. The techniques used for Z2Z4-linear codes are being generalized and applied to more general codes. By example, these codes have contributed to the classification of many nonlinear codes. Moreover, they can be considered as the starting point of many different generalizations given over mixed alphabets, thereby representing a useful area of research. Since 2010, more than 30 papers have been published about the codes considered in the book, which includes important classes of binary codes (1-perfect, Hadamard, etc.) that are not linear in general. For example, much recent research has shown the application of the techniques described for the family of cyclic Z2Z4-linear codes. Topics and Features: Examines everything from the basic definitions to very advanced results Provides numerous examples, succinctly and comprehensively gathering and using the relevant information Includes examples using commands from a new Magma package, developed mostly by the same authors Proposes algorithms, for instance to describe coding and decoding strategies This unique volume will be eminently suitable for researchers working on coding theory over rings, especially over mixed alphabets. Experts will find commands and algorithms that will be useful in the generalization to codes over mixed alphabets. Additionally, by outlining the basic theory of codes over mixed alphabets and providing numerous examples, the book will be useful to researchers wanting to be introduced to the topic. The authors are all affiliated with the Dept. of Information and Communications Engineering at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain. Joaquim Borges and Cristina Fernández-Córdoba are Associate Professors, Jaume Pujol is a now retired Associate Professor, Josep Rifà is Professor Emeritus, and Mercè Villanueva is Associate Professor.

This book was released on 2001-10-12 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We live in a world where reality is being presented to us as fantasy, and fantasy and as a reality. This world is not what we have been told to be, and everything that we know of is fake fictional stories written by Artificial Intelligence computers on sets of algorithm instructions that tells it what to write. What we know of our world was not written by humans for the most part of it, but by machines, they only needed to put in a plot or parameters and the AI computers were writing up the stories guided by algorithms. In this book of 23 Chapters there are so many revealed secrets of the true nature of the world we live in and creation as a whole, scattered throughout all 90 pages of this book and because of that it should be read thoroughly. Starting from Chapter 1, this book explains the true origin of humanity and creation as a whole, who we really are, where did we come from, and how did we get here! Chapter 2 explains the true story of the Trojan War, and the real reason why humanity is in perpetual wars ever since the Great re-set about 200 years ago, and the takeover of our 4 continents by Satanic forces. Chapter 3 explains what the Dome is made of that we live Under, and when it was put in place. Chapter 4 explains the primary purpose of the Dome as a Macro cosmos, and its importance for the creation of humanity as Micro cosmos, as above – so below. Chapter 5 explains the true purpose of the Portal at North Pole known as Ruper Nigra, or Mount Mery, which I call Mother-mirror Portal. Chapter 6 explains how exactly water was made in the Underworld by the Portal machine I call Mother Portal. Chapter 7 explains how the Dome was made by the Father Portal machine which is placed under the ground in the centre of the world. Just a remainder here that the centre of the world is not at the North Pole, but somewhere else. Chapter 8 explains what exactly is Torus field dynamics that creates the Dome we live under, and how it works. Chapter 9 explains exactly what an Atom is, its true origin and function. Chapter 10 explains the origin of the Cross, how it came into existence, and its true purpose for human-kind creation. Chapter 11 explains the meaning of the Cross in the middle text of Rosetta Stone. Chapter 12 explains the real meaning of the Cross in the Bible referred to as ‘The Twin Flame’. Chapter 13 explains the true meaning of the words ‘Equator’, ‘North’ – ‘South’, ‘East’ – ‘West’, and ‘Horizon’. Chapter 14 explains exactly why Atmospheric Energy increases by 100 Volts going upwards into the sky. Chapter 15 explains the Intelligent design of Creation. Chapter 16 explains exactly how Stars were Born. Chapter 17 explains exactly who God is. Chapter 18 explains what the element of Fire is. Chapter 19 explains what the element of Air is. Chapter 20 explains what the element of Water is. Chapter 21 explains what the element of Earth is. Chapter 22 explains the true meaning of Saint Bartholomew. Chapter 23 explains all about hexagonal growth formation in nature as mathematical construct.
