Book Synopsis Spot Tests in Inorganic Analysis by : F. Feigl
Download or read book Spot Tests in Inorganic Analysis written by F. Feigl and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 700 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many years have passed since the last edition of the present book was published. The discovery during this period of many new reagents has resulted in a vast accumulation of data on their application and made this completely revised edition necessary.Numerous new tests and various new chapters have been added. Chapters 3,4 and 5 of the fifth edition have been combined into one chapter, which is divided into sections devoted to the elements. These sections are arranged in alphabetical order to make for easier location of information on a given element. To further improve the usefulness of the volume, a reference list has been provided for each sub-section followed by a biography of the appropriate quantitative methods.
Book Synopsis Chemistry: Inorganic Qualitative Analysis in the Laboratory by : Clyde Metz
Download or read book Chemistry: Inorganic Qualitative Analysis in the Laboratory written by Clyde Metz and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemistry: Inorganic Qualitative Analysis in the Laboratory is a textbook dealing with qualitative analysis in the laboratory, as well as with the process of anion and cation analysis. The book presents an overview of the subject of inorganic qualitative analysis, including as the equipment, reagents, and procedures that are going to be used in the laboratory. Preliminary experiments include the classification of precipitates, handling precipitates, separation techniques, flame tests, Brown ring test, solvent extraction. The text also describes in detail how to prepare the experiment for anion and cation analysis such as testing for water solubility in a solid sample or the sodium carbonate treatment of a water-soluble sample. The book also explains the qualitative analysis for anions in preliminary and specific tests. In the qualitative analysis for cations, the student follows different procedures for Cation Groups I, II, III, IV or V. For example, the ions of Cation Group V cannot be precipitated by any Cation Groups I-IV reagents, nor by any single group reagent. The textbook is suitable for both chemistry teachers and freshmen students.
Book Synopsis Principles of Qualitative Inorganic Analysis: Precipitation, Separation and Identification of Cations by : Huda S. Alhasan
Download or read book Principles of Qualitative Inorganic Analysis: Precipitation, Separation and Identification of Cations written by Huda S. Alhasan and published by Bentham Science Publishers. This book was released on 2021-01-26 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides notes for basic laboratory experiments in qualitative analysis of cations. The book introduces readers to basic methods and laboratory safety. Subsequent chapters cover six groups of cations. Each chapter explains important details that are required to understand how a particular analytical method works for detecting cations in samples, starting from sedimentation and ending with the identification. Key Features: - Simple, reader friendly format - introductory notes and summary - Covers several groups of metals - Appendix for handy reference with tables and references This is a useful textbook for early chemistry students and teachers as it equips the readers with sufficient information required to analyze chemical samples and deduce the presence of specific cations as part of laboratory coursework.

Book Synopsis Fundamentals of Chemistry: Laboratory Studies by : Frank Brescia
Download or read book Fundamentals of Chemistry: Laboratory Studies written by Frank Brescia and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fundamentals of Chemistry: Laboratory Studies, Third Edition is a manual that provides instruction on techniques of chemical laboratory operations. Each experiment is discussed in terms of the major objective; the experimental approach to the objective; the measurements or observations to be made; and the calculation and interpretation of results. Topics covered include manipulation, weights, and measures; molecular weight; acids and bases; gravimetric and volumetric stoichiometry; and thermochemistry. This book is comprised of 43 chapters divided into 14 sections and begins by presenting general information on metric and other units, common laboratory equipment, and chemical laboratory methods. The first chapter introduces the reader to the Bunsen burner and the principles of glass working, followed by a discussion on mass and volume measurements, including the determination of density. The following chapters focus on states of matter, molecular weight, stoichiometry, and intermolecular forces. Preparations and syntheses are also considered, along with chemical equilibrium and electrochemistry. The final section is devoted to qualitative analysis, particularly of cations and anions. This monograph is intended primarily for students of chemistry.
