Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is all about making money from international business opportunities. Essentially, it emphasises the idea of achieving real and long term financial security through self-employment, as against paid employment, i.e. working for someone for a fixed pay. Explains how an ordinary person can generate unlimited amount of wealth from some simple basic business ideas and international opportunities by following certain ‘pathways’. The ‘pathways’ are designed to bring opportunities into focus automatically, ensuring the money maker’s natural progression towards achieving financial independence in a positive manner. Since it is difficult to imagine how it actually happens in real life, true-action case studies are included to illustrate the points. Comprehensive list of business ideas and many money-making opportunities are also included, to assist one in making an immediate start, plus some highly important sources of information and contacts. All these are designed to arm anyone - even a complete idiot - with enough ‘ammunition’ to attack the business world with a bold action plan and, make him into a successful, international money-spinner, over the shortest possible time span.

Book excerpt: The International Bestseller New York Public Library's "Top 10 Think Thrifty Reads of 2023" "This book blew my mind. More importantly, it made financial independence seem achievable. I read Financial Freedom three times, cover-to-cover." —Lifehacker Money is unlimited. Time is not. Become financially independent as fast as possible. In 2010, 24-year old Grant Sabatier woke up to find he had $2.26 in his bank account. Five years later, he had a net worth of over $1.25 million, and CNBC began calling him "the Millennial Millionaire." By age 30, he had reached financial independence. Along the way he uncovered that most of the accepted wisdom about money, work, and retirement is either incorrect, incomplete, or so old-school it's obsolete. Financial Freedom is a step-by-step path to make more money in less time, so you have more time for the things you love. It challenges the accepted narrative of spending decades working a traditional 9 to 5 job, pinching pennies, and finally earning the right to retirement at age 65, and instead offers readers an alternative: forget everything you've ever learned about money so that you can actually live the life you want. Sabatier offers surprising, counter-intuitive advice on topics such as how to: * Create profitable side hustles that you can turn into passive income streams or full-time businesses * Save money without giving up what makes you happy * Negotiate more out of your employer than you thought possible * Travel the world for less * Live for free--or better yet, make money on your living situation * Create a simple, money-making portfolio that only needs minor adjustments * Think creatively--there are so many ways to make money, but we don't see them. But most importantly, Sabatier highlights that, while one's ability to make money is limitless, one's time is not. There's also a limit to how much you can save, but not to how much money you can make. No one should spend precious years working at a job they dislike or worrying about how to make ends meet. Perhaps the biggest surprise: You need less money to "retire" at age 30 than you do at age 65. Financial Freedom is not merely a laundry list of advice to follow to get rich quick--it's a practical roadmap to living life on one's own terms, as soon as possible.

Book excerpt: Designated by The New York Times Book Review as a must-read in 2008 for the next U.S. president, Lapps unique take and laser-like logic invite readers to try on a new, invigorating way of seeing the world. With her characteristic boldness, she takes on a set of disempowering ideas driving economic and ecological crises, challenging readers to rethink the meaning of power, democracy, and hope itself. In her punchy, no-holds-barred style, Lapp weaves together fresh insights, startling facts, and stirring vignettes of regular people pursuing ingenuous solutions. ""My books intent,"" Lapp writes, ""is to enable us to see what is happening all around us but is still invisible to most of us people in all walks of life penetrating the spiral of despair and reversing it with new ideas, innovation and courage."" This updated and revised edition responds to Obama's presidency and the global financial collapse, concluding with reflection questions that are perfect for book groups.

Book excerpt: In today’s fast growing digital world, the web, mobile, social networks and other digital platforms are producing enormous amounts of data that hold intelligence and valuable information. Correctly used it has the power to create sustainable value in different forms for businesses. The commonly used term for this data is Big Data, which includes structured, unstructured and hybrid structured data. However, Big Data is of limited value unless insightful information can be extracted from the sources of data. The solution is Big Data analytics, and how managers and executives can capture value from this vast resource of information and insights. This book develops a simple framework and a non-technical approach to help the reader understand, digest and analyze data, and produce meaningful analytics to make informed decisions. It will support value creation within businesses, from customer care to product innovation, from sales and marketing to operational performance. The authors provide multiple case studies on global industries and business units, chapter summaries and discussion questions for the reader to consider and explore. Big Data for Managers also presents small cases and challenges for the reader to work on – making this a thorough and practical guide for students and managers.

Veteran financial journalist Liam Dann has fielded as many money-related questions as he has enjoyed beers around the BBQ — and often at the same time. In this book, he sets out to answer them all, sharing his decades of insight with stories and quotes from prominent politicians, financial experts and business moguls and loads of helpful graphs and illustrations in a super-informative, entertaining introduction to money, how it works, what we should do with it, and why it matters. Includes: — What even is money? — Economic theory — Who’s left, who’s right, who’s wrong?: Money and politics — Bitcoin, NFTs and the future of money — Inflation and deflation — AI and the future of work — Migration — How to read an economic forecast — Good times, bad times: Growth, recessions and depressions — Work smarter: NZ’s productivity problem — Earthquakes, pandemics and market crashes — Investing — Safe as houses: The Kiwi obsession with property — Bank profits — The Great Depression — Boomer Times — Muldoon’s shadow — GDP or not GDP — Taxing questions — Understanding risk — And so much more . . . “Liam has managed to do the almost impossible — make the world of economics accessible, interesting and, dare I say it, even fun.” — Grant Robertson, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister ‘Who knew The Lorax, Biggie Smalls and Jim Bolger’s surf team could help explain economics? Dann nails why money matters. This is how to talk finance at the BBQ and still be invited back.” — Guyon Espiner, Investigative journalist “Liam's a master at telling you what you didn't know you needed to know, while still making you laugh. If you want a shortcut to impressing your friends at the weekend, this is the book to help you do it.” — Frances Cook, Personal finance journalist and educator “A guidebook to sounding smart next time someone asks about the economy. Dann easily translates complex jargon into simple, Kiwi examples.” — Brad Olsen, Chief Executive and Principal Economist, Infometrics “A surprisingly fun and easy read - filled with characters, humour and Liam's personal stories - that gives us the how, why and who of money in New Zealand.” — Mary Holm, Personal finance writer and seminar presenter “Liam has a remarkable way of making the complicated, uncomplicated. His insightful, considered, and plain-English explanation of economics is a must-read for anyone wanting to know just what makes our economy tick.” — Sir John Key, former Prime Minister of New Zealand

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you desire the truth about God, our foremost religions, the purpose of life and the future of our planet? If so, Illuminating the Narrow Gate will guide and empower you to fulfill your destiny of transcending the darkness and embracing an enlightened spirituality. Blessed with astonishing insights and revelations, this revolutionary book heralds a global awakening and the inevitable doom of institutional religion. Volume II contains 15 appendixes that substantiate and enhance the revelations of Volume I. Appendixes A (“Reincarnation”) and B (“Spirit Possession”) present scientific and clinical evidence that demonstrates the reality of those phenomena. The next three appendixes are primarily dedicated to dating the Book of Daniel. Leveraging the breakthrough of Illuminating the Narrow Gate’s paradigm shift, Appendix D (“Redirecting the Debate About Daniel”) decimates the prevailing scholarly conclusion that Daniel’s prophecies were a hoax written in the 2nd century BCE. Instead, this book within a book proves they were penned as advertised in the 6th century BCE while debunking the fundamentalist view that the biblical book is inerrant. The next six appendixes primarily present ancient history that demonstrates the fulfillment of prophetic passages from Daniel. Four of them—Appendix F (“The Beast With Ten Horns”), Appendix G (“Constantine the Great”), Appendix J (“The King of the End Times”) and Appendix K (“Understanding the 69 ‘Sevens’”)—deliver the spine-tingling details of how the future was foretold with stunning accuracy and precision for five centuries after the date when all scholars agree Daniel was on the historical record (160s BCE). Appendix L (“The Catholic Church in the 20th Century”) shows that although the Church no longer champions crusades, sequesters Jews in ghettos, or tortures and kills those who believe differently, its underlying darkness has continued unabated. The majority of this other book within a book details how the Vatican helped Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler gain dictatorial power and then made strategic alliances with them, ignored their pre-war crimes and assaults upon the Jews, sanctioned their predatory aggression upon other nations, and turned a blind eye to the Holocaust. After illuminating the essence of the papal choices before and during World War II, the appendix exposes the criminal nature of the Vatican’s subsequent financial affairs. It shows how the sudden death of Pope John Paul I in 1978 was most likely a blackmail-enabled murder by the Vatican Bank’s underworld partners. After two short appendixes explain passages from Revelation, the book concludes with Appendix O (“The Impact on Islam”). It shows how the book’s insights are also inscribing the writing on the wall for Islam. * You don’t need to purchase Volume II if you only want the book’s core insights and revelations. A PDF document of the end matter published in Volume II (Endnotes, Bibliography, Index, et al.) can be downloaded for free from the book’s website to make Volume I a self-standing book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years the field of cancer treatment has been burgeoning with ever expanding interest and commitments to research and therapy. Besides the large number of specialty journals and publications devoted to cancer related fields, nearly every general medical journal contains one or more articles related to cancer treatment and research. Another example of this expanding commitment and interest is reflected in the Internal Medicine subspecialty of Medical Oncology which, since its recognition as a subspecialty in 1973, has become the second most populated subspecialty, second only to cardiology. This burgeoning interest and commitment is obviously appropriate in view of the prevalence and incidence of the various cancers. These diseases constitute, after all, some of the most important and devastating problems of civilized man. It has been particularly gratifying to those involved with cancer research and therapy to observe the increasing interest in these diseases being translated into real improvements in patient care - improvements in length of survival, improvements in quality of survival, and improvements in palliative care. One need only look at Hodgkin's disease to observe the high rate of cure now routinely obtained whereas, in the past, many patients' disease continued to progress with fatal consequences. Some of these improvements came about through better staging techniques, and other improvements, as will be discussed in the chapter on Hodgkin's, came about from the application of early chemotherapy. Further research in Hodgkin's disease is still going on in order to improve results and decrease treatment related complications.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What do you want your life to be like when you’re 25? 35? 55? Do you want a job that will feed you and your family or do you want a career that will be an integral part of your life—a career that will feed your passions, enable the lifestyle you choose, and be a continual source of engagement and pride? But do you really have the luxury of even considering your dream job in an era in which more than 40 percent of college graduates can’t even get jobs that require college degrees, much less jobs in their field? Not only should you think about your dream job—you owe it to yourself to do so. You just need a plan. This book will help you develop that plan by first examining how the careers of the future will differ from those of the past, where these jobs and careers will and won’t be, and the range of skills (many of which are not taught in schools) they will require. With this context, it then lays out a three-stage, 20-step plan that will help you: • Objectively assess and develop your skills and align them with your passions • Assess the career opportunities that will best utilize these skills in pursuit of your passion • Expand your career options and hedge your bets by identifying complementary “safety careers” • Evaluate your post-high school education options and create an education plan that is best suited to you and your career choice • Prioritize the factors you should consider in targeting your critical first career-track job and use that job to expand your long-term career options
