This paper describes the logistics of constructing the dam and transmission lines in an area accessible only by aircraft or boat. The focus of the paper is on the construction of the dam using roller compacted concrete, which enabled the dam to be made more compact than the originally-proposed earthfill dam and which consequently was more economical to build.
