Book excerpt: Foram conduzidos dois experimentos entre junho e novembro de 1999, a campo e no Laboratório de Pós-Colheita do Núcleo Experimental de Ciências Agrárias - NCA, da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul - UFMS, com o objetivo de avaliar os efeitos de diferentes lâminas de irrigação e doses de fósforo sobre a produção de raízes de plantas da cenoura 'Brasília', em condições ambientes. Os fatores estudados foram seis lâminas de irrigação (218,87; 265,77; 312,67; 359;57; 406,47 e 453,37 mm), correspondentes a 70, 85, 100, 115, 130 e 145% da evaporação de água obtidos com o Minievaporímetro-UFMS (MEv-UFMS), e cinco doses de fósforo (0; 200; 400; 600; e 800 kg ha-1 de P2O5). Os fatores em estudo foram arranjados em fatorial 5 (doses de P2O5) x 6 (lâminas de irrigação). A cenoura foi semeada de forma direta e a colheita foi realizada aos 85 dias após a emergência, quando foram avaliadas as produções de massa fresca da parte aérea e de raízes pequenas, médias, grandes e refugo, e a classificação de raízes comercializáveis e não comercializáveis, e a produção de massa seca de parte aérea e raízes. Considerando os mesmos tratamentos, doses de fósforo e lâmina de água, estudados no experimento de campo, avaliaram-se as perdas de massa das raízes de cenoura no laboratório de pós colheita. As unidades experimentais formadas de seis raízes de tamanho médio, foram dispostas no delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, com três repetições. Diariamente, até quatro dias após a colheita, foram feitas as pesagens individuais das raízes para determinar a perda de massa durante o período de armazenamento. O fator lâmina e a interação lâmina e doses de fósforo não influenciaram significativamente nas produções de matéria fresca e seca, exceto para a produção de matéria fresca da parte aérea, que foi crescente com o aumento das lâminas de irrigação e das doses de fósforo utilizadas. As doses de fósforo propiciaram aumentos de produção de raízes grandes (630,36 kg ha-1 de P2O5, obtendo-se 1440,62 g parcela-1). As produções de massa fresca de raízes classificadas como refugos e raízes totais produzidas, foram crescentes com o aumento das doses de fósforo utilizadas, não atingindo o ponto de máxima produção. No terceiro dia de armazenamento em condições ambientais, a dose de fósforo (601,06 kg ha-1 de P2O5) proporcionou menores perda de massa de cenouras.

Este trabalho teve como objetivo determinar o efeito da lamina de agua sobre a produtividade fisica e economic da cultura da cenoura. Conduziu-se um experimento no delineamento inteiramente casualisado, com cinco tratamentos (laminas de irrigacao correspondentes a 0,6, 0.8, 1,0, 1,2 e 1,4 vezes a evapotranspiracao potencial da cultura ETpc) e cinco repeticoes. A maior produtividade comercial foi 36 t/ha alcancada com a aplicacao de uma lamina de 443 mm. A lamina de irrigacao de maior retorno economico foi 438 mm, correspondendo a uma produtividade de 35,9 t/ha. Os custos variaveis da irrigacao tiveram pouca influencia sobre a determinacao da lamina de maior retorno economico devido aos altos custos de implantacao do sistema de producao dessa cultura.
