Book Synopsis Dynamics On and Of Complex Networks, Volume 2 by : Animesh Mukherjee
Download or read book Dynamics On and Of Complex Networks, Volume 2 written by Animesh Mukherjee and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-04 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This self-contained book systematically explores the statistical dynamics on and of complex networks with a special focus on time-varying networks. In the constantly changing modern world, there is an urgent need to understand problems related to systems that dynamically evolve in either structure or function, or both. This work is an attempt to address such problems in the framework of complex networks. Dynamics on and of Complex Networks, Volume 2: Applications to Time-Varying Dynamical Systems is a collection of surveys and cutting-edge research contributions exploring key issues, challenges, and characteristics of dynamical networks that emerge in various complex systems. Toward this goal, the work is thematically organized into three main sections with the primary thrust on time-varying networks: Part I studies social dynamics; Part II focuses on community identification; and Part III illustrates diffusion processes. The contributed chapters in this volume are intended to promote cross-fertilization in several research areas and will be valuable to newcomers in the field, experienced researchers, practitioners, and graduate students interested in pursuing research in dynamical networks with applications to computer science, statistical physics, nonlinear dynamics, linguistics, and the social sciences. This volume follows Dynamics On and Of Complex Networks: Applications to Biology, Computer Science, and the Social Sciences (2009), ISBN 978-0-8176-4750-6.

This book was released on 2022-03-28 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book bridges principles and real-world applications, while also providing thorough theory and technology for the development of artificial intelligence and robots. A lack of cross-pollination between AI and robotics research has led to a lack of progress in both fields. Now that both technologies have made significant strides, there is increased interest in combining the two domains in order to create a new integrated AI and robotics trend. In order to achieve wiser urbanization and more sustainable development, AI in smart cities will play a significant part in equipping the cities with advanced features that will allow residents to safely move about, stroll, shop, and enjoy a more comfortable way of life. If you are a student, researcher, engineer, or professional working in this field, or if you are just curious in the newest advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence for cybersecurity, this book is for you!

Download or read book Web Dynamics written by Mark Levene and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 457 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The World Wide Web has become a ubiquitous global tool, used for finding infor mation, communicating ideas, carrying out distributed computation and conducting business, learning and science. The Web is highly dynamic in both the content and quantity of the information that it encompasses. In order to fully exploit its enormous potential as a global repository of information, we need to understand how its size, topology and content are evolv ing. This then allows the development of new techniques for locating and retrieving information that are better able to adapt and scale to its change and growth. The Web's users are highly diverse and can access the Web from a variety of devices and interfaces, at different places and times, and for varying purposes. We thus also need techniques for personalising the presentation and content of Web based information depending on how it is being accessed and on the specific user's requirements. As well as being accessed by human users, the Web is also accessed by appli cations. New applications in areas such as e-business, sensor networks, and mobile and ubiquitous computing need to be able to detect and react quickly to events and changes in Web-based information. Traditional approaches using query-based 'pull' of information to find out if events or changes of interest have occurred may not be able to scale to the quantity and frequency of events and changes being generated, and new 'push' -based techniques are needed.

Book excerpt: Business process management (BPM) constitutes one of the most exciting - search areas in computer science and the BPM Conference together with its workshops provides a distinct platform for presenting the latest research and showing future directions in this area. These proceedings contain the ?nal v- sions of papers accepted for the workshops held in conjunction with the 7th International Conference on Business Process Management (BPM 2009). The BPM 2009 conference and workshops took place in Ulm, Germany. We received many interesting workshop proposals, eight of which were selected. Ultimately the workshops ran on September 7, 2009 featuring highly interesting keynotes, inspiring scienti?c presentations, and fruitful discussions. The history of ?ve years of BPM workshops in a row proves the continued success of the workshop program. Theworkshopsheldin2009includedonenewworkshoponempiricalresearch in business process management and seven well-established workshops. First International Workshop on Empirical Research in Business Process Management(ER-BPM 2009). The ER-BPM 2009 workshop addressed the demand for empirical research methods such as experimental or case studies to BPM and invited fellow colleagues to investigate both the potential and the limitations of BPM methods and technologies in practice. The ER-BPM workshop aimed at closing the gap in knowledge on process management and at discussing empirical research in the space of BPM and associated phenomena. 12th International Workshop on Reference Modeling (RefMod 2009).
