Download or read book Heavy Flavor Physics - Proceedings Of The Seventh International Symposium written by Claudio Campagnari and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1999-11-15 with total page 506 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The physics of heavy flavors is a very active area of research in experimental and theoretical high energy physics. A number of heavy flavor experiments at new or upgraded accelerators are just coming on line to address some of the most fundamental questions of particle physics, e.g. matter-anti-matter asymmetry (CP violation). The Seventh International Symposium on Heavy Flavor Physics focused primarily on the physics of bottom and charmed quarks, but there were also sessions on the top quark and the tau lepton. It presented a great opportunity to take stock of the field on the eve of the new era in heavy flavor physics which will be opened up by the next generation of experiments.

Book Synopsis 16th Conference on Flavor Physics and CP Violation by : Anjan Giri
Download or read book 16th Conference on Flavor Physics and CP Violation written by Anjan Giri and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-11-13 with total page 493 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presenting the proceedings of FPCP 2018, this book reviews the status quo of flavor physics and discusses the latest findings in this exciting area. Flavor physics has been instrumental in the formulation and understanding of the standard model, and it is possible that the direction of new physics will be significantly influenced by flavor sector, also known as the intensity frontier, making it possible to indirectly test the existence of new physics up to a very high scale, beyond that of the energy frontier scale accessible at the LHC. The book is intended for academics around the globe involved in particle physics research, professionals associated with the related technologies and those who are interested in learning about the future of physics and its prospects and directions.

This book was released on 1992-10-28 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Though there are several books on the Singapore economy, none have focused on the time series-based investigations. This book tries to address that gap and attempts to add to what we know from studies in the descriptive tradition. It is a compendium of twenty of the author's academic studies on the Singapore economy which have appeared previously as journal papers, book chapters, and feature articles. The papers share a common methodology of social scientific enquiry viz., time series econometrics, and are divided into three parts: macroeconomy, business cycles and forecasting. Each part brings together empirical essays that deal with particular aspects of these related fields. The book will be of interest to economists, policy-makers and students seeking a quantitatively informed understanding of the Singapore economy.

Download or read book Proceedings of the 31st International Conference on High Energy Physics ICHEP 2002 written by S. Bentvelsen and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 1004 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first precision measurements on CP violation in the B system are reported. Both the BELLE and the BABAR collaboration presented, among others, results for sin 2ß with much improved accuracy. Results from the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory, SNO, also deserve to be mentioned. The convincing evidence of solar neutrino oscillations had been presented by SNO prior to the conference; a full presentation was given at the conference. An incredibly precise measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon is reported, a fresh result from the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Apart from these distinct physics highlights, there are also the first results from the new Tevatron run and from the relativistic heavy ion collider RHIC. Theorists write of our ever better understanding of the Standard Model and of what might lie beyond. Risky as it is to highlight only a couple of exciting subjects, it is merely meantto whet the appetite for further reading.
