Book excerpt: It is difficult to believe that our planet has been weaponized before our very eyes, but that is exactly what has happened. First, we were seduced by the convenience of a wireless world; then, atmospheric weather experimentation in the guise of carbons “climate change” converted the air we breathe into an antenna. Now, the geo-engineering we’ve been subjected to for two decades is being normalized as the “Star Wars” Space Fence rises around and within us. Is this the Space Age we were promised?

Book Synopsis Communicating Social Justice in Teacher Education by : Aubrey A. Huber
Download or read book Communicating Social Justice in Teacher Education written by Aubrey A. Huber and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-11-10 with total page 203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Evolving out of ethnographic fieldwork, this text examines how ideas of social justice are articulated and communicated by pre-service teachers and graduate teaching assistants in the US. By positing the concept of "help" as a central tenet of social justice within teacher education, this volume offers a unique performative analysis of how the concept is communicatively constituted in teacher education and training. Using a social justice framework, the book examines the ways in which new teachers contend with their identities as educators, and demonstrates how these communicative performances influence pre-service and new teachers’ perceptions of their role, as well as their responsibility to engage with social justice and critical approaches in the classroom. This text will benefit researchers, academics, and educators in higher education with an interest in teacher education, critical communication studies, and the sociology of education more broadly. Those specifically interested in teacher training, mentoring, and social justice in the classroom will also benefit from this book.

Book Synopsis Automated Rendezvous and Docking of Spacecraft by : Wigbert Fehse
Download or read book Automated Rendezvous and Docking of Spacecraft written by Wigbert Fehse and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2003-11-13 with total page 517 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The definitive reference for space engineers on rendezvous and docking/berthing (RVD/B) related issues, this book answers key questions such as: How does the docking vehicle accurately approach the target spacecraft? What technology is needed aboard the spacecraft to perform automatic rendezvous and docking, and what systems are required by ground control to supervise this process? How can the proper functioning of all rendezvous-related equipment, systems and operations be verified before launch? The book provides an overview of the major issues governing approach and mating strategies, and system concepts for rendezvous and docking/berthing. These issues are described and explained such that aerospace engineers, students and even newcomers to the field can acquire a basic understanding of RVD/B. The author would like to extend his thanks to Dr Shufan Wu, GNC specialist and translator of the book's Chinese edition, for his help in the compilation of these important errata.

Book Synopsis Chemtrails, HAARP, and the Full Spectrum Dominance of Planet Earth by : Elana Freeland
Download or read book Chemtrails, HAARP, and the Full Spectrum Dominance of Planet Earth written by Elana Freeland and published by Feral House. This book was released on 2014-05-26 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are entering a Space Age, but not the kind President Kennedy originally envisioned. This Space Age is replacing resource wars and redefines planet earth as a "battlespace" in accordance with the military doctrine of "Full-Spectrum Dominance." This book examines how chemtrails and ionispheric heaters like the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Project (HAARP) in Alaska services a full-spectrum dominance. This "Revolution in Military Affairs" needs an atmospheric medium to assure wireless access to the bodies and brains of anyone on Earth—from heat-seeking missiles to a form of mind control. How sinister are these technologies? Are we being prepared for a "global village" lockdown? The recent release of NSA records have reminded Americans that "eyes in the sky" are tracking us as supercomputers record the phone calls, e-mails, internet posts, and even the brain frequencies of millions. Elana M. Freeland's startling book sifts through the confusion surrounding chemtrails-versus-contrails and how extreme weather is being "geo-engineered" to enrich disaster capitalists and intimidate nations. A deconstruction of Bernard J. Eastlund's HAARP patent points to other covert agendas, such as a global Smart Grid infrastructure that enables access to every body and brain on Earth, a "Transhumanist" future that erases lines between human and machine, and Nanobiological hybrids armed with microprocessers that infest and harm human bodies.

Book Synopsis Personalizing Psychotherapy by : John C. Norcross
Download or read book Personalizing Psychotherapy written by John C. Norcross and published by American Psychological Association (APA). This book was released on 2021 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This book provides detailed guidance on assessing and accommodating patient preferences for the psychotherapist, the therapeutic approach, and treatment activities. Blending empirical research and clinical expertise into easy-to-read advice, Drs. John Norcross and Mick Cooper offer multiple strategies for routinely assessing preferences as they evolve over the course of therapy, focusing primarily on strong likes and dislikes. They describe multiple tools for rapidly and reliably measuring preferences in session, including their Cooper-Norcross Inventory of Preferences (C-NIP). Four key strategies for accommodating a client's preferences are explored in depth: adopting them into treatment, adapting the therapist's approach, exploring alternative preferences, and referring the patient to another practitioner if necessary. The authors describe the limitations of personalization and how to avoid common errors, such as therapists assuming they know what clients want. Training and supervision strategies are also featured. Clinical cases and patient-therapist dialogues demonstrate how to evaluate and integrate client preferences in a respectful, ethical, and professional manner that leads to enhanced alliances and improved outcomes"--

Book Synopsis Damage Mechanics of Composite Materials by : R. Talreja
Download or read book Damage Mechanics of Composite Materials written by R. Talreja and published by Elsevier Science. This book was released on 1994 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Damage mechanics is concerned with mechanics-based analyses of microstructural events in solids responsible for changes in their response to external loading. The microstructural events can occur as cracks, voids, slipped regions, etc., with a spatial distribution within the volume of a solid. If a solid contains oriented elements in its microsctructure, e.g. fibers, the heterogeneity and asisotropy aspects create situations which form a class of problems worthy of special treatment. This book deals with such treatments with particular emphasis on application to technological composite materials. Chapter one describes the basic principles underlying both the micromechanics approach and the continuum damage mechanics approach. It also reviews the relevant statistical concepts. The next three chapters are devoted to developments of the continuum damage mechanics approach related to characterization of damage with internal variables, evolution of damage and its coupling with other inelastic effects such as plasticity. Chapter 5 describes observations of damage from notches in composite laminates and puts forward some pragmatic modelling ideas for a complex damage configuration. The next two chapters form the bulk of the micromechanics approach in this volume. The first one deals with microcracking and the other with interfacial damage in composite materials.
