Book excerpt: The four volume set assembled following The 2005 International Conference on Computational Science and its Applications, ICCSA 2005, held in Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Singapore, from 9 May 2005 till 12 May 2005, represents the ?ne collection of 540 refereed papers selected from nearly 2,700 submissions. Computational Science has ?rmly established itself as a vital part of many scienti?c investigations, a?ecting researchers and practitioners in areas ranging from applications such as aerospace and automotive, to emerging technologies such as bioinformatics and nanotechnologies, to core disciplines such as ma- ematics, physics, and chemistry. Due to the shear size of many challenges in computational science, the use of supercomputing, parallel processing, and - phisticated algorithms is inevitable and becomes a part of fundamental t- oretical research as well as endeavors in emerging ?elds. Together, these far reaching scienti?c areas contribute to shape this Conference in the realms of state-of-the-art computational science research and applications, encompassing the facilitating theoretical foundations and the innovative applications of such results in other areas.

Book Synopsis Kinematic Geometry of Gearing by : David B. Dooner
Download or read book Kinematic Geometry of Gearing written by David B. Dooner and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-04-09 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Building on the first edition published in 1995 this new edition of Kinematic Geometry of Gearing has been extensively revised and updated with new and original material. This includes the methodology for general tooth forms, radius of torsure’, cylinder of osculation, and cylindroid of torsure; the author has also completely reworked the ‘3 laws of gearing’, the first law re-written to better parallel the existing ‘Law of Gearing” as pioneered by Leonard Euler, expanded from Euler’s original law to encompass non-circular gears and hypoid gears, the 2nd law of gearing describing a unique relation between gear sizes, and the 3rd law completely reworked from its original form to uniquely describe a limiting condition on curvature between gear teeth, with new relations for gear efficiency are presented based on the kinematics of general toothed wheels in mesh. There is also a completely new chapter on gear vibration load factor and impact. Progressing from the fundamentals of geometry to construction of gear geometry and application, Kinematic Geometry of Gearing presents a generalized approach for the integrated design and manufacture of gear pairs, cams and all other types of toothed/motion/force transmission mechanisms using computer implementation based on algebraic geometry.
Book Synopsis Trends In Differential Geometry, Complex Analysis And Mathematical Physics - Proceedings Of 9th International Workshop On Complex Structures, Integrability And Vector Fields by : Stancho Dimiev
Download or read book Trends In Differential Geometry, Complex Analysis And Mathematical Physics - Proceedings Of 9th International Workshop On Complex Structures, Integrability And Vector Fields written by Stancho Dimiev and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2009-08-21 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the contributions by the participants in the nine of a series of workshops. Throughout the series of workshops, the contributors are consistently aiming at higher achievements of studies of the current topics in complex analysis, differential geometry and mathematical physics and further in any intermediate areas, with expectation of discovery of new research directions. Concerning the present one, it is worthwhile to mention that, in addition to the new developments of the traditional trends, many attractive and pioneering works were presented and their results were contributed to the present volume. The contents of this volume therefore will provide not only significant and useful information for researchers in complex analysis, differential geometry and mathematical physics (including their related areas), but also interesting mathematics for non-specialists and a broad audience. The present volume contains new developments and trends in the studies on constructions of holomorphic Cliffordian functions; the swelling constructions of minimal surfaces with higher genus in flat tori; the spectral properties of soliton equations on symmetric spaces; new types of shallow water waves described by Camassa-Holm type equations, the properties of pseudo-hermitian boson and fermion coherent states; fractals and chaos on orthorhombic lattices, and even an ambitious proposal of a graph model for Kaehler manifolds with Kaehler magnetic fields.

Book Synopsis Lie Theory and Its Applications in Physics by : Vladimir Dobrev
Download or read book Lie Theory and Its Applications in Physics written by Vladimir Dobrev and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-04-09 with total page 535 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Traditionally, Lie Theory is a tool to build mathematical models for physical systems. Recently, the trend is towards geometrisation of the mathematical description of physical systems and objects. A geometric approach to a system yields in general some notion of symmetry which is very helpful in understanding its structure. Geometrisation and symmetries are meant in their broadest sense, i.e., classical geometry, differential geometry, groups and quantum groups, infinite-dimensional (super-)algebras, and their representations. Furthermore, we include the necessary tools from functional analysis and number theory. This is a large interdisciplinary and interrelated field. Samples of these new trends are presented in this volume, based on contributions from the Workshop “Lie Theory and Its Applications in Physics” held near Varna, Bulgaria, in June 2011. This book is suitable for an extensive audience of mathematicians, mathematical physicists, theoretical physicists, and researchers in the field of Lie Theory.
