Book Synopsis Cellular Neural Networks, Multi-scroll Chaos and Synchronization by : M?tak E. Yalin
Download or read book Cellular Neural Networks, Multi-scroll Chaos and Synchronization written by M?tak E. Yalin and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2005 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For engineering applications that are based on nonlinear phenomena, novel information processing systems require new methodologies and design principles. This perspective is the basis of the three cornerstones of this book: cellular neural networks, chaos and synchronization. Cellular neural networks and their universal machine implementations offer a well-established platform for processing spatial-temporal patterns and wave computing. Multi-scroll circuits are generalizations to the original Chua's circuit, leading to chip implementable circuits with increasingly complex attractors. Several applications make use of synchronization techniques for nonlinear systems. A systematic overview is given for Lur'e representable systems with global synchronization criteria for master-slave and mutual synchronization, robust synchronization, HV synchronization, time-delayed systems and impulsive synchronization.
Book Synopsis Chaos in Automatic Control by : Wilfrid Perruquetti
Download or read book Chaos in Automatic Control written by Wilfrid Perruquetti and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 398 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chaotic behavior arises in a variety of control settings. In some cases, it is beneficial to remove this behavior; in others, introducing or taking advantage of the existing chaotic components can be useful for example in cryptography. Chaos in Automatic Control surveys the latest methods for inserting, taking advantage of, or removing chaos in a variety of applications. This book supplies the theoretical and pedagogical basis of chaos in control systems along with new concepts and recent developments in the field. Presented in three parts, the book examines open-loop analysis, closed-loop control, and applications of chaos in control systems. The first section builds a background in the mathematics of ordinary differential and difference equations on which the remainder of the book is based. It includes an introductory chapter by Christian Mira, a pioneer in chaos research. The next section explores solutions to problems arising in observation and control of closed-loop chaotic control systems. These include model-independent control methods, strategies such as H-infinity and sliding modes, polytopic observers, normal forms using homogeneous transformations, and observability normal forms. The final section explores applications in wireless transmission, optics, power electronics, and cryptography. Chaos in Automatic Control distills the latest thinking in chaos while relating it to the most recent developments and applications in control. It serves as a platform for developing more robust, autonomous, intelligent, and adaptive systems.

University of Istanbul, Turkey, on 13–14 June 2005, in connection with the bestowal of the honorary doctorate degrees on Professors Leopold B. Felsen and Leon O. Chua, for their extraordinary achievements in electromagnetics, and n- linear systems, respectively. The symposium was co-organized by Cem Göknar and Levent Sevgi, in consultation with Leopold B. Felsen and Leon O. Chua. Istanbul is a city with wonderful natural and historical surroundings, a city not only interconnecting Asia and Europe but also Eastern and Western cultures. Therefore, CCN2005 was a memorable event not only in the lifetime of Drs. Felsen, Chua, and their families, but also for all the other participants who were there to congratulate the recipients and participate in the symposium.
Download or read book Progress in Optics written by and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2005-10-27 with total page 393 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the thirty-seven years that have gone by since the first volume of Progress in Optics was published, optics has become one of the most dynamic fields of science. At the time of inception of this series, the first lasers were only just becoming operational, holography was in its infancy, subjects such as fiber optics, integrated optics and optoelectronics did not exist and quantum optics was the domain of only a few physicists. The term photonics had not yet been coined. Today these fields are flourishing and have become areas of specialisation for many science and engineering students and numerous research workers and engineers throughout the world. Some of the advances in these fields have been recognized by awarding Nobel prizes to seven physicists in the last twenty years. The volumes in this series which have appeared up to now contain nearly 190 review articles by distinguished research workers, which have become permanent records for many important developments. They have helped optical scientists and optical engineers to stay abreast of their fields. There is no sign that developments in optics are slowing down or becoming less interesting. We confidently expect that, just like their predecessors, future volumes of Progress in Optics will faithfully record the most important advances that are being made in optics and related fields.

Book Synopsis Mathematical Control Theory I by : M. Kanat Camlibel
Download or read book Mathematical Control Theory I written by M. Kanat Camlibel and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-07-15 with total page 407 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This treatment of modern topics related to mathematical systems theory forms the proceedings of a workshop, Mathematical Systems Theory: From Behaviors to Nonlinear Control, held at the University of Groningen in July 2015. The workshop celebrated the work of Professors Arjan van der Schaft and Harry Trentelman, honouring their 60th Birthdays. The first volume of this two-volume work covers a variety of topics related to nonlinear and hybrid control systems. After giving a detailed account of the state of the art in the related topic, each chapter presents new results and discusses new directions. As such, this volume provides a broad picture of the theory of nonlinear and hybrid control systems for scientists and engineers with an interest in the interdisciplinary field of systems and control theory. The reader will benefit from the expert participants’ ideas on exciting new approaches to control and system theory and their predictions of future directions for the subject that were discussed at the workshop.
