Download or read book Microwave NDT written by N. Ida and published by Springer. This book was released on 1992-11-30 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microwave testing has been paid only scant attention in the literature as a method for nondestructive testing of materials, yet it offers some attractive features, especially for the testing of composite and other non-metallic materials. Microwave techniques have been used in a large number of applications that can be classified as nondestructive testing applications, ranging from large scale remote sensing to detection of tumors in the body. This volume describes a unified approach to microwave nondestructive testing by presenting the three essential components of testing: theory, practice, and modelling. While recognizing that each of these subjects is wide enough to justify a volume of its own, the presentation of the three topics together shows that these are interrelated and should be practiced together. While few will argue against a good theoretical background, modelling and simulation of the testing environment is seldom part of the NDT training in any method, but particularly so in microwave testing. The text is devided in four parts. The first part presents the field theory background necessary for understanding the microwave domain. The second part treats microwave measurements as well as devices and sources and the third part discusses practical tests applicable to a variety of materials and geometries. The fourth part discusses modelling of microwave testing. Each chapter contains a bibliography intended to expand on the material given and, in particular, to point to subjects which could not be covered either as not appropriate or for lack of space. For engineers, applied physicsts, material scientists.
Book Synopsis Multidimensional Signals, Circuits and Systems by : Krzysztof Galkowski
Download or read book Multidimensional Signals, Circuits and Systems written by Krzysztof Galkowski and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2001-05-10 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although research on general multidimensional systems theory has been developing rapidly in recent years, this is the first research text to appear on the subject since the early 1980s. The text describes the current state of the art nD systems and sets out a number of open problems, and gives several different perspectives on the subject. It presents a number of different solutions to major theoretical problems as well as some interesting practical results. The book comprises of a selection of plenary and other lectures given at The First International Workshop on Multidimensional (nD) Systems (NDS-98) held in 1998 in Poland, and is written by leading world specialists in the field.
Book Synopsis Computational Electronics by : Karl Hess
Download or read book Computational Electronics written by Karl Hess and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Large computational resources are of ever increasing importance for the simulation of semiconductor processes, devices and integrated circuits. The Workshop on Computational Electronics was intended to be a forum for the dis cussion of the state-of-the-art of device simulation. Three major research areas were covered: conventional simulations, based on the drift-diffusion and the hydrodynamic models; Monte Carlo methods and other techniques for the solution of the Boltzmann transport equation; and computational approaches to quantum transport which are relevant to novel devices based on quantum interference and resonant tunneling phenomena. Our goal was to bring together researchers from various disciplines that contribute to the advancement of device simulation. These include Computer Sci ence, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics. The suc cess of this multidisciplinary formula was proven by numerous interactions which took place at the Workshop and during the following three-day Short Course on Computational Electronics. The format of the course, including a number of tutorial lectures, and the large attendance of graduate students, stimulated many discussions and has proven to us once more the importance of cross-fertilization between the different disciplines.
Book Synopsis Design of Ultra Wideband Antenna Matching Networks by : Binboga Siddik Yarman
Download or read book Design of Ultra Wideband Antenna Matching Networks written by Binboga Siddik Yarman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-08-25 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Design of Ultra Wideband Antenna Matching Networks: via Simplified Real Frequency Technique (SRFT) will open up a new horizon for design engineers, researchers, undergraduate and graduate students to construct multi-band and ultra wideband antenna matching networks for antennas which in turn will push the edge of technology to manufacture new generation of complex communication systems beyond microwave frequencies both in commercial and military line. In Design of Ultra Wideband Antenna Matching Networks, many real life examples are presented to design antenna matching networks over HF and cellular commercial multi-band frequencies. For each example, open MatLab source codes are provided so that the reader can easily generate and verify the results of the examples included in the book.
