Book Synopsis Horary Astrology and the Judgment of Events by : Barbara H. Watters
Download or read book Horary Astrology and the Judgment of Events written by Barbara H. Watters and published by American Federation of Astr. This book was released on 2012-02 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Horary Astrology and the Judgment of Events is the result of the author's thirty years of using horary methods in her professional practice. Properly used, horary astrology can warn us of dangers and analyze events with uncanny accuracy. Despite it's usefulness, it has been neglected in modern times because, as traditionally taught, the system was too cluttered with medieval dogmas to appeal to the modern mind. In this book, Barbara Watters has achieved a true breakthrough. She has reexamined the horary system, stripped it of medieval superstition, and translated the ancient methods into modern terms. Using actual questions and events, she gives a step-by-step analysis of this method of solving problems and making decisions about real estate, travel, investments, business, employment, health, missing people, court trials, and many other matters. She also explains how to use the horary method to judge the outcome of national and political events, a field in which her predictions have been amazingly accurate. Introductory chapters focus on signs and rulers, the old planets, the new planets, strictures against judgment, the houses, turning the radical chart, timing events in the horary chart, the aspects, placing events in the horary chart, and additional considerations that affect the judgment of events.

Book excerpt: This book gathers contributions on the topic of astrology in the West during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, from 1914–2022. It is the first collection exclusively devoted to a period that has been mostly neglected by historians of astrology, who have mostly devoted themselves to the ancient, medieval and early modern periods. Uninterested in vindicating or debunking astrology, contributors consider its cultural impact, its relation to historical events, and the ways in which it has changed in the last century. The broad range of subjects on modern Europe and the US include the relation of astrology with indigenous thought, interwar Polish astrology, and the relation of American astrologers to COVID. A bibliography of studies of modern astrology on a global basis is also included. Book excerpt: This classic astrology text, revered by beginners and professional astrologers alike, is now available in a Weiser Classics edition. “The most important single contribution of twentieth-century astrology is that astrology is not a map of one’s fixed destiny but is a potential map of the unfolding of the authentic, higher self.” —Robert Hand, from the foreword Saturn’s darker persona is recognized universally in myth and fairytale. In this classic astrology text, renowned astrologer and Jungian analyst Liz Greene offers a fresh perspective on how to handle the influence of this much-maligned astrological symbol. In Saturn, Greene shows us how the frustrating experiences connected to this planet can be turned into opportunities for greater insight and meaning in our lives. Saturn, she says, symbolizes a psychic process—one that allows us to utilize the experience of pain for self-discovery and a more fulfilling and complete life. Greene retraces Saturn’s character through sign, house, aspect, and synastry in a brilliant analysis that reveals his other face: that of the initiator who, for the price of our honesty with ourselves, offers us greater consciousness, self-understanding, and, eventually, freedom.

The horoscope and related divisional charts can simply give an indication about the auspicious and inauspicious probabilities on the basis of the study of house, house lord and significator whereas the timing of an event cannot be calculated without understanding the impact of major period & transit in operation so for getting timing of events in one's life, we use Dasha and transits. Dasha tells which planet is affecting the native at a particular time, whereas transit tells us which natal planet is vibrating because of the transiting planet. A combined result of Dasha and transit gives us the behavior of the native at a particular time. In nutshell the Horoscope and concerned divisional charts only indicate the promise in the horoscope, negative or positive, according to the position of house, house lord, significator, concerned house from the significator. But the time of fructification of event is indicated by the Dasha/Anterdasha of different planets. If a good dasha is in operation, the native will get good results according to the significations of the concerned dasha nath and its lordship in the horoscope. For determining the timing of events for various events such as education, profession, marriage, children, acquiring of vehicle, land and property, foreign travels, each subject is discussed in detail in different chapters. The principles to identify the timing of events are given with illustrations / examples.
