Book Synopsis Primer of Pianoforte Playing (Classic Reprint) by : Franklin Taylor
Download or read book Primer of Pianoforte Playing (Classic Reprint) written by Franklin Taylor and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-12-22 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Primer of Pianoforte Playing Simplest, and will require but brief consideration. It is obvious that the notes in staccato accompaniment must be light and delicate, and not strong enough to interfere with the melody which they accompany. When they are required to be soft, and yet bright in tone and distinctly articulated, which is often the case, they must be played with a steady hand, the fingers being held in a bent position and with little or no movement of the joints, and the hand lifted from the key with great rapidity, but to a very short distance. This movement, which is very slight though quick, comes from the action of the elbow-joint, and the tone produced is crisp and short, with very little percussion. This touch is suitable for such passages as the bass in the Scherzo of Beethoven's Sonata in E flat, op. 31, No. 3, or the chords of the right hand in the 108th and following bars of the first movement of the same. Book Synopsis Palmer's Piano Primer by : Horatio Richmond Palmer
Download or read book Palmer's Piano Primer written by Horatio Richmond Palmer and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-07-17 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Palmer's Piano Primer: A Systematic and Clear Explanation of the Fundamental Principles of Piano-Forte Playing, Designed for the Assistance of Teachers, and as a Text-Book for Classes or Private Pupils, Containing a Scientific Exposition of the Rudiments of Musical Notation It is recommended that the pupils be required to commit the questions and answers to memory, (a few at each lesson, 5 to 20, according to the capacity for memorizing) and recite them at the beginning of the next lesson; this would, in the course of six or twelve months, place much important information at the pupil's disposal, thereby saving the teacher's valuable time for those things which cannot be learned from books, while the learners would stand on a broader foundation of musical knowledge, with no perceptible interference with the time of lessons; in fact, it would in the end save their time, for, with increased knowledge, they will be able to comprehend the explanations and elucidations of the teacher much more rapidly, thereby insuring greater advancement in the same length of time.
