Book Synopsis Réparer le futur by : Inès Leonarduzzi
Download or read book Réparer le futur written by Inès Leonarduzzi and published by Éditions de l'Observatoire. This book was released on 2021-02-24T00:00:00+01:00 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2020-07-09 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Fictional Labor written by Jiewon Baek and published by Liverpool University Press. This book was released on 2022-07-15 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book advocates for the ethically formative labor that fiction accomplishes. As a force of production, the fictional labor of literature and the visual arts shapes the formation of collective meaning in an era marked by the negligence of social, financial, and environmental responsibility. As neoliberalism’s hegemony since the 1980s has intensified through the proliferation of digital technologies in the 21st century, considering works of creative art as an ethically productive force is a necessary complement to political and economic critiques. The book invites readers to rethink how mutations in the production, circulation, and consumption of literary and visual materials are implicated in the commodification of information and attention for private gain. The link can have a positive effect that transforms the social relation from a capitalist ethos that expends life for profit to an alterity-driven ethos that defends life. But remedying the paucity of moral sentiments of social existence requires fictional labor to generate ethical sensibilities, cares, desires, and wills. The book’s close analyses demonstrate the aesthetic and formal aspects of literary and visual art that mediate between social relations to yield a dependence alterity, including the otherness of a precarious present, a menacing future beyond economic mastery, and an environment enmeshed with living beings and things.

Book Synopsis La vie privée à l’ère du numérique by : REY Bénédicte
Download or read book La vie privée à l’ère du numérique written by REY Bénédicte and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2012-09-05 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Digital Presences of Organizations by : Nathalie Pinède
Download or read book Digital Presences of Organizations written by Nathalie Pinède and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-08-13 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Organizations communicate in complex and various ways, and the context is mainly characterized by the pervasiveness of the digital ecosystem, including the Web, social networks and the Internet of data. However, its information delivery cannot overlook the requirements of multicultural communications at a variety of levels. Digital Presences of Organizations highlights the communication roadblocks faced by organizations as they emerge, arising not only from issues encountered on their own websites, but also as they construct online narratives. This multi-faceted and multi-strategy digital presence of organizations is addressed via three main thematic axes. The first focuses on differentiated strategies (content, services, interaction) that can be observed depending on the types of organizations and their users. The second examines the cultural dimension of websites, ranging from the local to the global. Finally, the third focuses on the role of narration in organizations' online communication strategies.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book Synopsis Global Debates in the Digital Humanities by : Domenico Fiormonte
Download or read book Global Debates in the Digital Humanities written by Domenico Fiormonte and published by U of Minnesota Press. This book was released on 2022-04-12 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A necessary volume of essays working to decolonize the digital humanities Often conceived of as an all-inclusive “big tent,” digital humanities has in fact been troubled by a lack of perspectives beyond Westernized and Anglophone contexts and assumptions. This latest collection in the Debates in the Digital Humanities series seeks to address this deficit in the field. Focused on thought and work that has been underappreciated for linguistic, cultural, or geopolitical reasons, contributors showcase alternative histories and perspectives that detail the rise of the digital humanities in the Global South and other “invisible” contexts and explore the implications of a globally diverse digital humanities. Advancing a vision of the digital humanities as a space where we can reimagine basic questions about our cultural and historical development, this volume challenges the field to undertake innovation and reform. Book Synopsis Linking with Nature in the Digital Age by : Émilie Kohlmann
Download or read book Linking with Nature in the Digital Age written by Émilie Kohlmann and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-05-29 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The use of digital technology in our societies is growing to meet the ever-increasing challenges of data collection, raising awareness, education and understanding nature. Artificial intelligence, for example, appears to be the answer to collecting massive amounts of data on biodiversity at a global scale and facilitating citizen participation in such data collection. Linking with Nature in the Digital Age explores the reconfiguration of our relationship with nature within this digital framework. This book examines this mediated linking from three angles. Firstly, it shows how digital technology can foster the development of links to nature. Then, it describes in greater detail the materiality of these links and how they have evolved with the developments in information technology. Finally, it questions the belief in the digital as a facilitator and opens up new perspectives on our relationship with nature and the living world
