Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On the hundredth anniversary of Ronald Reagan’s birth comes the twentieth-anniversary edition of Peggy Noonan’s critically acclaimed bestseller What I Saw at the Revolution, for which she provides a new Preface that demonstrates this book’s timeless relevance. As a special assistant to the president, Noonan worked with Ronald Reagan—and with Vice President George H. W. Bush—on some of their most memorable speeches. Noonan shows us the world behind the words, and her sharp, vivid portraits of President Reagan and a host of Washington’s movers and shakers are rendered in inimitable, witty prose. Her priceless account of what it was like to be a speechwriter among bureaucrats, and a woman in the last bastion of male power, makes this a Washington memoir that breaks the mold—as spirited, sensitive, and thoughtful as Peggy Noonan herself.

Book Synopsis GLEANINGS IN EXODUS by : Arthur W. Pink
Download or read book GLEANINGS IN EXODUS written by Arthur W. Pink and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-11-29 with total page 584 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Historically, the book of Exodus treats of the deliverance of Israel from Egypt; but viewed doctrinally, it deals with redemption. Just as the first book of the Bible teaches that God elects unto salvation, so the second instructs us how God saves, namely, by redemption. Redemption, then, is the dominant subject of Exodus. Following this, we are shown what we are redeemed for-worship, and this characterizes Leviticus, where we learn of the holy requirements of God and the gracious provisions He has made to meet these. In Numbers we have the walk and warfare of the wilderness, where we have a typical representation of our experiences as we pass through this scene of sin and trial-our repeated and excuseless failures, and God's long-sufferance and faithfulness.

This book was released on with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In his new book, A Treasure Trove of Spiritual Jewels, Bishop Isiah Lawrence Nottage presents eighteen gemstones for readers. This provocative, exciting, eye-opening book is a must-read. It proves the following: ? Jesus Christ made a roundtrip from earth to heaven and back within twelve hours on Easter Sunday Morning (Jesusday Morning). ? Judah, a Hebrew man, and Tamar, a colored Canaanite woman, were the father and mother of the tribe of Judah. ? The author explains Daniel chapter 11:1-45 verbatim/verse by verse, proving events that occurred in the remote past before Christ was born. ? There is 100 percent scriptural proof that Mary’s husband Joseph was the holder of David’s scepter as the spiritual king of the Jews, until Shiloh, or Jesus Christ, took it over and became the Messiah and the Spiritual king of the Jews. ? Biblical proof shows there were two resurrections on Easter Sunday Morning/Jesusday Morning. Bishop Nottage also discovers Moses’ family-clans in the scriptures and what their occupations were in Israel. Divine truth: Jesus Christ is not the Almighty God, but rather the son of God. A Treasure Trove of Spiritual Jewels unravels many more spiritual gold nuggets and spiritual mysteries.

Book Synopsis Thus Spake Zarathustra by : Friedrich Nietzsche
Download or read book Thus Spake Zarathustra written by Friedrich Nietzsche and published by Algora Publishing. This book was released on 2003 with total page 538 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Zarathustra was Nietzsche's masterpiece, the first comprehensive statement of his mature philosophy, and the introduction of his influential and well-known (and misunderstood) ideas including the "overman" or "superman" and the "will to power." It is also the source of Nietzsche's famous (and much misconstrued) statement that "God is dead." Though this is essentially a work of philosophy, it is also a masterpiece of literature, a cross between prose and poetry. A considerable part and parcel of Nietzsche's genius is his ability to make his language dance, and this is what becomes extraordinarily difficult to translate. It has been almost 40 years since Hollingdale's version for Penguin and almost 50 since Kaufmann's. However, anyone who appreciates the German original knows that these translations are merely adequate. While earlier translators have smoothed out the rough edges, cut corners and sometimes omitted troublesome passages outright, this one honors and respects the original as no other. Kaufmann and others are guilty of the deplorable tendency to "improve" on the original. Much is lost by this means, to say nothing of the interior rhythms, the grace notes, the not always graceful but omnipresent and striking puns and wordplays. And in not a few instances the current translation improves on Kaufmann's use of English or otherwise clarifies what Nietzsche is really saying
Download or read book Trusting YHWH written by Lorne E. Weaver and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-02-27 with total page 335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To open the Book of Psalms is to enter the world of God. To read the Psalms is to read the words of God and hear the words of these ancient people in response to this God who has graciously drawn them into an eternal covenant. The Book of Psalms is one continuous conversation that ranges over many centuries—perhaps nearly a millennium—between the God of Israel and the people of Israel; or more accurately, the God of glory and this particular people who have been called to live life on the edge of glory as the people of God. There is no mystery to this conversation. It is all an embroidery of grace. Modern day readers may find themselves caught in the nexus between personal experience and the desire to live a life of faith on the other. These will find a voice in the Psalms. Ancient Israel strove to put their trust in the One God of All—in the face of myriad challenges throughout her long history. What we find here is a bold witness to their hard-won faith and confidence in the sheltering presence of the One God of All. This is a message that is especially timely for people who may desire the deeper dimensions of life and faith amid the inescapable incongruities and anxieties of postmodern life.

This book was released on 2001 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here, Arthur Versluis breaks new ground, showing that many writers of the American Renaissance drew extensively on and were inspired by Western esoteric currents. Thus he demonstrates that Alcott and Emerson were indebted to Hermeticism, Christian theosophy, and Neoplatonism; Fuller to alchemy and Rosicrucianism; Hawthorne to alchemy; and Melville to Gnosticism. In addition to offering a detailed analysis of the esoteric elements in the writings of figures from the American Renaissance, Versluis presents an overview of esotericism in Europe and its offshoots in colonial America. This innovative work will interest students and scholars of religion, literature, American studies, and esotericism."--Jacket.
