Kann man jedoch dem Schein Glauben schenken, dass die Medien ausnahmslos über politische Themen und Inhalte objektiv berichten? Und welchen Einfluss haben die Massenmedien auf politische Inhalte und deren Darstellung und welche Folgen ergeben sich daraus für die politischen Akteure und Wähler? Sind es wirklich noch die Politiker, die die Themenagenda aufstellen? Diese Fragen sollen im Laufe dieser Hausarbeit diskutiert und abschließend beantwortet werden. Hierfür wird im Grundlagenteil zunächst der Terminus „Mediendemokratie“ begrifflich abge-grenzt und die rechtliche Grundlage und Funktion der Massenmedien erläutert. Anschließend werden theoretische Ansätze aufgezeigt, die das Verhältnis zwischen Medien und Politik beschreiben.
