Book excerpt: Introduction : Depuis quelques années, la diminution du nombre de gynécologues médicaux en exercice induit en France une baisse de l'offre de soins en gynécologie. En 2009, dans le but d'améliorer cette offre de soins, l'adoption de la loi HPST permet aux sages-femmes d'intégrer le suivi gynécologique de routine dans leur exercice. Matériels et méthodes : Revue non systématique de la littérature pour faire un état des lieux du suivi gynécologique en France. Parangonnage des campagnes de communication autour du suivi gynécologique en France et à l'International pour déterminer les critères d'élaboration d'un outil de communication en santé. Puis étude qualitative par des entretiens semi-directifs auprès de sages-femmes de Bourgogne pratiquant le suivi gynécologique afin de déterminer les critères essentiels à un outil de communication centré sur les compétences des sages-femmes en matière de suivi gynécologique. Résultats : Plus de 10 ans après l'adoption de la loi HPST, les compétences des sages-femmes en matière de suivi gynécologique semblent toujours méconnues du public cible et les difficultés pour les femmes à accéder à un suivi gynécologique régulier demeurent. Quelques outils de communication autour des compétences des sages-femmes ont été développés par le ministère de Marisol Touraine mais depuis, aucune autre campagne n'a été menée. Par ailleurs, de nombreux outils de communications autour du suivi gynécologique ont été développés. Discussion : La plupart des outils de communication développés en France au sujet du suivi gynécologique et des compétences des sages-femmes en la matière sont pertinents aussi bien au niveau de leurs formes que de leurs contenus puisqu'ils respectent tous les critères d'élaboration d'un bon outil de communication en santé. Néanmoins, deux problématiques semblent récurrentes : d'une part, les sages-femmes sont trop souvent en retrait voire absentes dans ces outils; et d'autre part, ces moyens de communication sont inaccessibles si les femmes ne font pas la démarche elles-mêmes de s'informer sur le sujet traité par l'outil.
