Their fantastic designs broke with the state's rigid urbanism. Neither legal nor prohibited, the construction of churches during this period engaged the most talented architects and craftspeople, who in turn enabled parish communities to build their own houses of worship. When the war ends, they are reunited with the help of the Red Cross, and the father and son are finally able to rejoin their family. The youngest son, a successful architect, marries and has a son who later becomes a priest. The family is hit with a tragedy, but it eventually allows good things to happenthings that will help many unfortunate people live better lives.
