Book Synopsis Biomimetics Through Nanoelectronics by : Jia Liu
Download or read book Biomimetics Through Nanoelectronics written by Jia Liu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-11-16 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis presents original research on how to seamlessly integrate electronics with living biological systems. Jia Liu has used silicon nanowires as active sensors to investigate biological signals at the cellular level. He has also designed nanoelectronic networks into flexible, three-dimensional (3D) and macroporous architectures, which mimic the structure of tissue scaffolds for in vitro 3D integrations with synthetic tissues and in vivo implantation by means of syringe injection. Importantly, the results demonstrate 3D interpenetrations of nanoelectronic networks with neural networks, 3D mapping of tissue activity and long-term implantation with minimal immunoresponses. Further, the book discusses potential applications for pharmacological studies, brain activity mapping and nanoelectronics enabled therapies. The findings presented here have gained wide recognition, including a top research ranking by Chemical & Engineering News and being listed among Scientific American’s 10 world changing ideas in 2015.

Book Synopsis Elektrische Leitungsphänomene I / Electrical Conductivity I by : S. Flügge

This book was released on 1956-01-02 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 191 Apart from numerous difficulties arising from the high pressure technique as such, there is a natural limitation to the possibility of applying a hydrostatic pressure, since liquids under pressure will solidify above a certain pressure limit. 8 2 Up to pressures of 3 X 10 kg.jm. at room temperature, a liquid like isopentane can be used. For higher pressures helium gas may be used, perhaps to about 9 2 10 kg.jm. , but BRIDGMAN already encountered enormous leakage difficulties 7 when using this gas at 7.10 kg.jm.2 at 90° K. A solution has been found by applying mechanical pressure for the range 8 9 2 between 3 X 10 and 10 kg.jm. , by using silver chloride as transmittant. In this case, however, one has to apply unknown corrections for shearing stress and deformation of the sample, a problem which BRIDGMAN solved experimentally by a determination of the resistivity in the pressure region between 2 and 8 2 5 X 10 kg.jm. , by the hydrostatic and by the mechanical pressure method as well, and applying the correction factor thus determined to the results obtained at higher pressures. Though this method seems to be right in good approximation, the data for the highest pressures are to be considered as less accurate.
Book Synopsis Solar Energy: Let the Sun Shine In by : Michael Graham M. Sc.
Download or read book Solar Energy: Let the Sun Shine In written by Michael Graham M. Sc. and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2023-03-23 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This great body through its great magnetic and gravitational pull holds all the planets and their related planetary bodies in their respective orbits within the boundaries of this solar system and the great volume of energy dispensed by the Sun throughout the solar system maintains the perpetual motion, correct interplanetary distances of the planets and life on Earth. This energy generated within the Sun through nuclear fusion (Hanania et al 2020) is not unique to the Sun in our Solar System as there are billions of other such stars throughout the Milky Way Galaxy and the universe (NASA) that have similar energy profiles and planets that orbit them that could similarly help to foster life in many other places if solar energy was all that was required for life.

Download or read book Modern Electronics and Communication Engineering written by M.L. Anand and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-10-01 with total page 583 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the book, in which the subject matter is dealt from elementary to the advance level in a unique manner. Three outstanding features can be claimed for the book viz. (i) style; the student, while going through the pages would feel as if he is attending a class room. (ii) language: that an average student can follow and (iii) approach: it takes the student from ''known to unknown'' and ''simple to complex.'' The book is reader friendly, thought provoking and stimulating. It helps in clearing cobwebs of the mind. The style is lucid and un-adulterated. Unnecessary mathematics has been avoided. Note: T&F does not sell or distribute the Hardback in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
