Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Paul George: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Most Dynamic Small Forwards, you will learn the inspirational story of one of basketball's premier small forwards, Paul George. Since joining the NBA, Paul George has quickly emerged as one of the league's best small forwards, leading the Indiana Pacers to reemerge as contenders in the growingly competitive Eastern Conference. It is hard to believe that so many teams passed on Paul George back in the 2010 NBA Draft when he easily became one of the best draft picks out of that year's draft. While Paul George suffered from a devastating injury as a member of Team USA, he has demonstrated an incredible amount of resilience as he nursed his injury and returned to full force starting in the 2015-2016 NBA season. It will be exciting to see where George can take the Pacers in the years to come. Early Life and Childhood High School Years of Paul George Paul George's College Years at California State University, Fresno Paul George's NBA Career Getting Drafted Rookie Season Second Year Third Year and Breakout Year George's Fourth Year, 2013-14 Season Team USA Training Camp, Broken Leg, and Eight Months Out Road to Recovery and the Return The Real Return of Paul George (2015-16 Season) Chapter 5: Paul George's Personal Life Chapter 6: Paul George's Impact on Basketball and Legacy An excerpt from the book: George's return on April 5, 2015 was just a mere trailer and preview to the PG-13 show that people were in store for in the 2015-16 season. Back in August of the previous season, Paul George had his number changed from 24, his idol Kobe Bryant's number, to 13. He has always worn the number 24 since high school because he wanted to be like Kobe. The reason for the change was that he already had an identity of his own and that it was time for him to pave his own path from being that kid who idolized Kobe to the man known as PG-13. His PG-13 nickname gimmick gives him his own identity to build on and he also said it was pretty catchy because PG-13 in normal television terms implies that the show will be enjoyable yet safe. The offseason prior to the 2015-16 NBA season was a period of transition for the Pacers. Larry Bird had communicated to the coaching staff that he wanted the Pacers to play faster as opposed to their usual slow-paced offense in the past. This transition to a fast-paced offense made the slow giant Roy Hibbert dispensable. The Pacers traded Hibbert to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for a future second round draft pick. Moreover, they lost veteran leadership in David West when he opted to forego his $12 million player option to stay with the Pacers and instead signed with the Spurs for a much lower amount. They also lost CJ Watson and backup big man Luis Scola. The silver lining about the loss of their frontline starters was that it provided an avenue for their younger and more athletic players to play at a higher pace. Book excerpt: Learn the Incredible Story of Basketball Superstar Chris Paul!Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Chris Paul: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Greatest Point Guards, you'll read about the inspirational story of basketball's premier point guard, Chris Paul. Chris Paul has emerged as a top five point guard in the NBA amongst the likes of Derrick Rose, Steve Nash, Russell Westbrook, and Rajan Rondo. From once struggling to make the varsity team of his high school team, Chris Paul has come a long way since being drafted as the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. The rest is history as the Los Angeles Clippers have emerged to become one of the elite teams in the West. This year, the Clippers defeated the Golden State Warriors in seven games.Chris Paul is easily one of the most dynamic point guards to play the game of basketball. From flashy crossovers to speedy races down the court on the fastbreak to lobs to Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, John Wall has had an illustrious basketball career. It will be exciting to see how Chris Paul and the Clippers do in this year's 2013-2014 NBA playoffs. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Early Life and Childhood College Years at Wake Forest Chris Paul's NBA Career CP3's Personal Life Paul's Impact on Basketball and Beyond Chris Paul's Legacy An excerpt from the book:The other question that will confront Paul in the future is how long he can hold to the title of best point guard in the league. Since his near-MVP season in 2008, Paul has been the gold standard through which all other point guards are compared to. Fellow 2005 NBA Draft point guard Deron Williams challenged Paul for years and repeatedly beat Chris Paul in head to head matchups. But Deron Williams has fallen off over the years, as he now lacks the explosiveness that he used to overpower the smaller Paul. Derrick Rose won the MVP in 2011, but has never been the same thanks to multiple knee injuries. Stephen Curry has lit up the league with his three-point shooting, John Wall has unparalleled speed, and there are more great young point guards today than perhaps at any moment in NBA history. But while Chris Paul may lack their athleticism, no point guard in the league has his on-court knowledge. Eventually, one of those younger point guards will surpass the aging Paul, as time devours all things - with the possible exception of the San Antonio Spurs. The legacy of Chris Paul will be written in the next few years, as his prime begins to reach his end. Will the point guard who puts up incredible numbers and leads a team night in and night out be able to secure that elusive championship? Will Paul secure his rank among the truly great point guards? And how long will this point guard be able to dominate his position? Until that day comes when someone surpasses, this generous, intelligent man, who has endured terrible and horrific losses, will showcase himself as possibly the greatest point guard there ever was and ever will be.

Book excerpt: Learn the Incredible Story of the San Antonio Spurs' Basketball Superstar Kawhi Leonard! Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Kawhi Leonard: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Best All-Around Players, you will learn the inspirational story of one of basketball's premier small forwards, Kawhi Leonard. Since entering the league in the the mid first-round of the 2011 NBA Draft, Kawhi Leonard has quickly emerged as one of the most promising and dominant two-way players in the league today. At 22, Leonard demonstrated his maturity and poise on the court as he made key contributions to the Spurs' 2014 Championship run. The league rewarded him for his performance by recognizing him as the 2014 Finals MVP, making him the third-youngest player to ever win the award. As Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili approach the end of their careers, it is only a matter of time before Kawhi truly becomes the face of the Spurs organization. Alongside LaMarcus Aldridge, Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs are certainly poised to continue another era of dominance in the NBA. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood and Early Years High School Career Kawhi's College Career Kawhi Leonard's NBA Career Getting Drafted Rookie Season First Trip to the NBA Finals Winning the NBA Championship, Finals MVP Winning the Defensive Player of the Year Award Enter LaMarcus Aldridge, First All-Star Season Kawhi Leonard's Personal Life Kawhi Leonard's Legacy and Future An excerpt from the book: Kawhi Leonard, as silent and discreet as he is off the NBA floor, is thought of as one of the most enigmatic and unemotional players in the whole league. But make no mistake about it because his play on the court is anything but silent and discreet. While he rarely expresses himself, Leonard's game does all the talking, and that's all we need to know. Kawhi Leonard is one of the premier two-way wing players in the whole NBA because he plays as hard on offense as he does on defense. Offensively, Leonard grew from a raw NBA prospect that was very limited regarding scoring abilities to the San Antonio Spurs' best scorer from any part of the floor. He was basically a non-threat from the perimeter, but then developed into one of the most efficient three-point shooters in the NBA. Defensively, that's where Leonard gets his meal ticket. Coming into the NBA, the Spurs already knew that Kawhi was a defensive gem. He was always a hustle and defense guy in college. He grabbed rebounds, defended the other team's best player, and went for the 50-50 balls. Leonard translated the same game he had in college to the NBA floor, and arguably nobody else in the NBA plays perimeter defense better than he does. With a wingspan so long that his arms could envelop six men and with hands so huge that he could cover the ball with one hand, Leonard has used his natural physical gifts to good use on the defensive end of the floor. Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Scottie Pippen: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Greatest Small Forwards, you'll read about the inspirational story of basketball's star, Scottie Pippen. This short unauthorized biography of Scottie Pippen highlights the greatest moments of his career. Scottie Pippen was one of the underdog stories of the NBA when he first entered the league, drafted surprisingly as the fifth overall pick by the Seattle Supersonics before being traded on draft night to the Chicago Bulls. He would become a central figure alongside Michael Jordan in the Bulls' historic championship runs of the 90s. Even after the Bulls dynasty dismantled, Scottie would impress as he spent the later part of his career seeking championship number seven as part of the Portland TrailblazersRead on to learn about the days of when Scottie Pippen played alongside Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman, Toni Kukoc, Ron Harper and Steve Kerr in some of the greatest times of Chicago Bulls' basketball history. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood and High School Years College Years at the University of Central Arkansas Scottie's NBA Career Pippen's Personal Life Scottie Pippen's Impact on Basketball Pippen's Most Memorable Moments Pippen's Legacy & Future An excerpt from the book: Tom and Jerry. Lone Ranger and Tonto. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Batman and Robin. Jordan and Pippen. It's hard to describe a man who many have believed was a mere sidekick to Michael Jordan. However, like Jerry, Tonto, Dr. Watson, and Robin, Scottie Pippen also established a name for himself in the game of basketball. Most of his career happened in the shadows of Jordan and people fail to realize that without Pippen, Chicago potentially would not have created the wining Bulls dynasty. Pippen once said, "Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team." He not only came to grips with his role, but embraced it, quietly racking up impressive statistics while giving his teammates the spotlight. The 6-time NBA Champion and all-leader in steals and assists among forwards, is one of the most versatile players in NBA history. Although Pippen averaged over 20 points a game along with 7 rebounds, he was continually overshadowed by the shooting guard god, Jordan. It wasn't until Pippen was charged with guarding Magic Johnson in the 1991 NBA Finals that everyone began to take notice and see Pippen in his own right. The world soon began to uncover the mystery surrounding Pippen's rise to fame in the basketball world. In the height of his prime, Pippen made 10 consecutive All-NBA First Defensive teams, and was only one of three NBA players to record 200 steals and 100 blocks in a single season. He was known to block the lanes of opposing teams with his unusually long wingspan (2.2m) and jumping ability. Coach Phil Jackson once described him as a "one man wrecking crew." His tireless work ethic and selfless playing style often resulted in him leading the Bulls in blocks and assists. He finished 23rd in all-time assists in his career. Pippen is truly one of the league's greatest treasures and few players in NBA history have actually matched his versatility. He was an incredibly unique player. On defense, he combined his height with strength and athleticism and there was no area he didn't excel in. The young man who once suffered from maturity issues has developed into a confident point guard; ready to lead the Wizards however far they may go. Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul remains the best point guard in the NBA, and Wall is far from the only young point guard who seeks to take Paul's throne. Derrick Rose has won a MVP. Russell Westbrook has been the second option on a championship team. Stephen Curry has led the Golden State Warriors out of years of irrelevancy, and Damian Lillard has proven to be a monster in the clutch over and over again, drilling a series-clinching three point shot in these 2014 playoffs against the Houston Rockets. Can Wall truly prove himself to be the best point guard of them all? Only he knows. But the Wizards will do their best to provide him with the help he needs. They have tough, savvy veterans like Ariza and Nene, and also high potential prospects from their years in the lottery in Bradley Beal and Otto Porter Jr. But the Wizards remain John Wall's team and will be so for at least the next few years. It will be up to Wall to lead the Wizards to victory as well as develop into an outstanding point guard. With his long track of developing from just another playground athlete to one of the premier young point guards in the NBA, there is little doubt that he can very well accomplish all this and more.

In Victor Oladipo: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Rising Stars, you will learn the inspirational story of one of basketball's most exciting young guards, Victor Oladipo. As the second overall pick in the 2013 Draft, Victor Oladipo has grown accustomed to having high expectations riding on his shoulders. In his fifth season, Oladipo broke out as a new star. He credited much of his improved game to being able to study from a future Hall of Fame great, Russell Westbrook. Behind Oladipo's leadership, the Pacers clinched a playoff birth. Furthermore, Oladipo solidified himself as one of the league's most promising guards with his impressive defense and explosive ability to drive into the paint. It'll be exciting to follow Oladipo's journey as he continues to grow in the years to come. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood and Early Life High School and College Career Getting Drafted, Rookie Season, The Magic's Best Player, Final Year in Orlando Teaming Up With Westbrook, the Lone Season in Oklahoma City The Trade to Indiana, the Birth of a New Star Oladipo's Personal Life Impact on Basketball Legacy and Future An excerpt from the book: What does it take for a player to become a legitimate star in the NBA? Is it the talent and potential he already has when he makes the jump to the professional league? Is it the right team or system? Is it the time the player needs to develop? Is it the trust and confidence he gets from the franchise? Or is it a combination of those factors? There have been many players that did not immediately become stars in the NBA for one reason or another. Chauncey Billups was always a great player coming into the NBA. However, he skipped from team to team during his early years trying to find a system and franchise that could turn him into a star player. It was not until 2004, when he was 27 years old, when Billups became a star point guard for a championship team. Two years later at age 29, Chauncey Billups became a perennial All-Star. In today's NBA, point guard Kyle Lowry was merely a backup playmaker that teams loved because of his defense. But Lowry never had star potential during his early years in the NBA. It was not until he moved to the Toronto Raptors at age 26 when he began developing. Finally, at 28, Lowry became an All-Star point guard for the Raptors. As far as history would tell us, there have been players that did not immediately make the jump from a college or high school player to an instant NBA star or up-and-coming talent. Sometimes the potential is already there, but there are also times when it only surfaces after experience and training. There are also players that just need to belong to a team that wants them or to a system that fits their playing style. And when all of those factors converge, an instant NBA star player is born. When they get to the NBA, they are already poised to become some of the best players in the entire league because of how seemingly talented and ready they are for the next level. This is something that is quite a rarity in the league, as only generational talents have this attribute. When you think about such players, names such as Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James come to mind. Those few generational talents came to the NBA and instantly became megastars. In a league that is never shy of talent, such players are rare, as only those who are born with the gift and the potential to become big-name players get to rise to such heights. Of course, these are the type of players that will excel in whatever situation and team you put them in. But we are not here to talk about such names. Too much has been said about the greatest players the league has ever seen. Instead, we are here to talk about the players who may have been immensely talented but still needed to be in the right place at the right time to truly shine and become the best versions of themselves. These are the guys who may have had the potential to become stars but were not in the best situation at the start of their careers. One such name that we can think of in the NBA right now is the versatile power forward named Julius Randle. Did you enjoy this excerpt? In Pau Gasol: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Most Versatile Power Forwards, you will learn the inspirational story of one of basketball's premier power forwards, Pau Gasol. Since entering the NBA, Pau Gasol has created a legacy for himself as one of the best international basketball players to play in the NBA. As a dominant leader of the Memphis Grizzlies, a key contributor to an LA Laker Championship team, and now a valued member of the Chicago Bulls, Pau Gasol has adapted well to the different chapters of his basketball career, maintaining relevance on the court as a respected veteran. In this book, we'll explore how Pau ended up in the NBA, as well as the impact he has left behind on the game. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood in Spain FC Barcelona in Spain NBA Career Starts in Memphis End of an Era, Trade to L.A. Going to Chicago Olympic Competition Personal Life Impact on Basketball and Beyond Legacy in the NBA An excerpt from the book: Pau Gasol Saez was born on July 6, 1980, to parents who were both working in the medical field in Barcelona, Spain. His mother Marisa was a doctor and his father Agusti was a nurse administrator who worked at Saint Pau Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. It's a unique hospital that was described pretty well by Los Angeles Times writer Chuck Culpepper as a hybrid of the Shangri-La and Hotel Del Coronado - that's because there is plenty of artwork for people to see when walking the halls of the hospital, including a number of art mosaics, murals, and sculptures. Pau Gasol was born in this hospital and was raised by his parents in Cornella, which is in the southwestern portion of Barcelona's metropolitan district. He would have a younger brother Marc, who was born five years later. The family lived in this suburb that was somewhat small when you consider how it was very close to one of Spain's largest cities - Cornella had a population of about 80,000 people while the Gasol brothers were growing up. Pau was actually the oldest of three sons. While his parents commuted to work that took just under half an hour each way, Pau would walk to attend school at Escola Llor, which was a private school that had a metal front gate that greeted him every morning. It was a very short walk to and from his home and only took no more than five minutes each way; very convenient. It was a pleasant walk, as he recalled to Culpepper how he would walk past orange trees, palm trees, and neatly kept hedges at homes that didn't conform to each other. But this school was known best for having such a very successful youth sports program that it developed almost into a sporting complex for kids to play basketball both indoors and outdoors. Basketball is one of the more popular sports in Spain and, as Pau and his brothers attended school, they found themselves developing into pretty decent basketball players. During his childhood, you would find Pau learning to try his hand not only at basketball, but also at other sports that were also rising in popularity in the country - tennis, soccer, and golf. Now entering his fifth season, expectations are the highest they have ever been for Aaron Gordon with his new four-year contract he signed in the summer of 2018. At the time of this writing, Gordon is coming off a career season, still with a great deal of potential and upside to actualize at the young age of twenty-two. It'll be exciting to follow Gordon's journey as he continues to grow in the years to come. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood and Early Life High School and College Career Getting Drafted, Rookie Season, Putting on a Dunk Fest Aaron Gordon the Small Forward and Breakout season Gordon's Personal Life Impact on Basketball Legacy and Future An excerpt from the book: The NBA is a league that goes through a process of constant evolution. Players, coaches, and new systems change the game. The modern-day NBA has become wildly different from what old-school basketball fans are used to. The success of three-point shooters, guards, and versatile big men have paved the way for how teams now emphasize space and a faster pace. Because of how the game changed, players have had to change as well. Guards today focus more on scoring and shooting rather than passing. Wing players are now supposed to space the floor well and defend all perimeter positions. Meanwhile, most centers are now only rebounders and paint defenders. But despite the massive changes to how players now play, one thing that remained constant is the athletic and versatile power forward. Throughout the years, the NBA has seen the likes of Karl Malone, Shawn Kemp, Kevin Garnett, Amar'e Stoudemire, and Blake Griffin. Those players are known for their athleticism and versatility as power forwards out on the floor. No matter how the league has changed, any team can appreciate the talents of such players because of the variety of what they can do on both ends of the floor. They can use their superior athleticism to score inside the paint. They can blow by or outrun their defenders because of their mobility. And on the defensive end, they can cover both big man positions and can also keep up with some perimeter players. Today, the player that is next in line for the mantle of the league's premier high-flying power forward is Aaron Gordon. When it comes to sheer athletic ability, almost no other power forward in the league can match up to what Gordon can do. He is known for dunking the ball hard in creative ways. He not only uses that athleticism to put up contest-worthy dunks but also to outplay and outrun slow-footed opposing big men that fail to keep up with him. And on the defensive end, he does not only guard both big men positions but also the perimeter players as well. But what makes Gordon truly fit as an athletic power forward in the modern-day version of the NBA is his ability to stretch the floor.
